Went to the matinee performance this afternoon and really enjoyed rhe show.
I found it to be an intense and - at times - hilarious afternoon in the theatre.
The first act - stutters occasionally - but sets the scene of the seeking of truth against the microcosm of small town political corruption.
In the second act, the audience are invited into the Town Hall as Matt Smith delivers a political diatribe against the crooked political and sociological systems that keep people in their place and the folk at the top, at the top. We are, all guilty of partaking in a system which is unjust, cruel and abhorrent.
The audience are then invited to respond first, by show of hands and then by engaging in dialogue with the characters. And yes - I got the chance to speak and was quizzed on my views by one of the cast!!
I think I agree with a poster from above that Matt’s brought forth lots of yeses but all some yes, buts.
Fascinating show - well worth a visit if just to see Smith on blistering form in the second act.
I’d give it 4 stars.

I went to a midweek matinee having paid £20 for a seat in the Dress Circle slips. Asked about an upgrade 5 minutes before curtain up and paid an extra £20 to sit dead centre in Row D of the Dress Circle.
Amazing view for £40!!

Just started watching this morning. Got to say that the quality is really quite blurry… though that could be my TV reception!!

Amazing afternoon back at The KitKat Club - Mason Alexander Park and Emily Benjamin on as Emcee and Sally and a formidable pair they are.
It’s two years since I saw it and it just gets better and better - both funny and devastating in equal turns with an incredible ensemble.
Must book again sometime soon and when funds allow!!!!

Saw this on Sunday 25th on a £25 ticket from TodayTix.
The story is told from Pip’s perspective and Eddie plays all the characters, envisioning each one with a mannerism and different voice. There were moments of poignancy, moments of hilarity, mostly in the moment when Eddie slipped into stand-up mode with an observation on what was happening within the story, and moments where I really felt it dragged in the exposition of the Dickens tome.
Standing outside for a breather in the interval, I was fascinated to see approximately 20 people leave and not come back in. In my opinion, they missed the stronger half when all the strands of the story were falling into place.
Glad I saw it, there is no doubt Eddie can tell a story, but there were just a few too many moments it fell flat. Worth a watch though on a cheap ticket if you get a chance in the next week.

Caught this yesterday afternoon thanks to a TodayTix £25 day seat. Bagged B11 in the stalls and have to admit I had a wonderful afternoon!
It really is a beautiful little show - heartwarming, fun and a beautiful tribute to the TV show. Great to JOJ in a fun role and away from Valjean and Phantom!
Would love to see it again so hoping it tours again in the not too distant future.

Managed to see it twice during its run - absolutely love the show, one of the most beautiful stories. It is beautifully, funnily and emotionally told. Hope it comes near me on tour so I can see it again.

It depends on how much you are willing to buy into it. You have to engage the imagination in it - it’s not like the big shows that show you everything on stage! It is, in my opinion, a wonderful piece of traditional storytelling.

Give us Woman in White. The 2017 Charing Cross Theatre production was just wonderful. It deserves soooo much more love; although I'd happily settle for Aspects! Agree with this wholeheartedly. Never saw the Original Production but the Charing Cross version was wonderful - really enjoyed it and would love to see it again.

I completely agree.
I got day seats on the daily day seats when that existed! Started at 10am and eventually got seats at 11:20am!

Saw the show this afternoon and enjoyed it! Loved ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ and Wilmot’s ‘London Underground’ song. Kids really enjoyed Paul Zerdin!
Overall fun afternoon - especially as it was free!!!!

Saw this for the third time this evening - pretty much a full house as well!
This show has grown on me. Found the first five minutes so amazing the first time that the rest of it just fell flat. Second time watched it with my son #1 and seeing it through a child’s eyes was amazing. Third time this evening with sons #s 2 & 3 on the front row of the stalls brought it up to another level.
Absolutely loved it this evening - such joy through the music and the cast. A fabulous evening!

I had to cancel my tickets to see this yesterday - Mum is a huge Donny fan. Hope its on again next year, and with a few new acts and gags. One would hope that they go back to an actual Panto next year... Am seeing this tomorrow thanks to the board tipping me off about the free National Lottery tickets - have 4 seats in row B Stalls for free! We got Stalls Row S !!!!

Saw the show this evening - 20 minutes late going up due to a technical fault. Some good tunes, some good moments but mostly a mess. Ticked off the list now anyhow!!

Caught the show this afternoon on a £25 day seat from TodayTix - quite the bargain! Row K of the stalls - a perfect seat to take it all in.
Stays fairly faithful to the film except for a few changes and I loved the special effects. The last race in the car to the clock tower was a particular highlight for me!
Cast great - main two were on and are a great duo. George McFly also a standout.
Some great songs in there, others a bit ‘meh’ but pleasant and serviceable enough.

Maybe you've never been there, but i can't believe any theatre has better legroom than the Barbican. That legroom... *insert chefs kiss gif here *[/quote]
Nope! Not visited there yet, but really this was spectacular legroom!! And a shelf running along the back of the two in front to put drinks on!!!

[quote timestamp="1637188787" source="/post/402414/thread" Do you mind if i ask if you were central in row H? I also have H and hadn't realised the mixing desk was behind us and wasn't sure if it was distracting? I was H15 - just next to the sound desk (which I hadn’t realised) didn’t hear anything from there at all during the show. No problems.

Just out. An incredible production performed entirely in the round. The Playhouse has been transformed and I am providing no spoilers for that!
The show is wonderful - a fantastic partnership in Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley both turning out engaging and devastating performances. Jessie in particular is sublime.
The supporting cast are equally wonderful. Not a single weak link anywhere.
Just wonderful - go see it!!!
I was sat in Row H in the Stalls - perfect view (though missed two appearances of the MC and Sally in the boxes as the Dress Circle overhang cut that part off), the rake is amazing and the legroom the best I’ve ever had in a theatre, save for sitting on the front row!!!
