To be honest I don't care about the Take That musical itself. I'm just happy we'll be getting another musical theatre talent show on the BBC. I loved the old ones with ALW. I'd do Anything and Any Dream Will Do were the best seasons. They introduced us to incredible talents like Rachel Tucker, Sam Barks, Lee Mead etc. Those shows were fab. They were TV talent shows, but minus most of the X-Factor-esq nonsense - so no crap auditionees for 'entertainment', no reliance on 'sob stories' and no 'joke' contestants. I'm looking forward to the Take That one.

The overall standard of this year's celebs seems pretty high. Loved Judge Rinder, Danny Mac, Will Young, Louise Redknapp and Anastacia. Greg Rutherford was a pleasant surprise.
I like that that the competition seems pretty wide open at the moment, with several looking like possible finalists/winners.

Andy Moss has done himself no favours with his comments about people criticising him/Sarah/the show online. Making personal attacks on those who criticise you is never a good idea.

I love the way that Les Miserables has not only its catalogue of sad songs, but it has a number of beatifully moving leitmotifs. One I find incredibly touching is the one we hear first sung by Valjean in The Arrest: "I've seen your face before/ Show me some way to help you..." We hear it sung twice more, by Fantine: once to her imagined daughter ("Cosette, it's turned so cold/ Cosette, it's past your bed-time..." and then near the end of the show to Valjean on his deathbed: "Monsieur, I bless your name/ Monsieur, lay down your burden..." Perfection! The Arrest contains a desperately touching little melody that's not heard anywhere else in the show, when Fantine sings: "Monsieur, don't mock me now, I pray/ It's hard enough I've lost my pride/ You let your foreman send me away/ Yes, you were there and turned aside..." This is one of my favourite parts of the show. Another little gut-wrenching melody we hear only once opens The Finale. Valjeans sings of having to watch his beloved Cosette from afar: "Alone I wait in the shadows/ I count the hours 'til I can sleep..." Interestingly it contains the only repeated line in the show: " I dreamed a dream (Cosette stood by/It made her weep to know I die...") I love this show: it is so brilliantly crafted! The scene with the Bishop is incredibly moving, particularly in the film, where the Bishop is played by Colm Wilkinson.

Another couple:-
Little Lamb - Gypsy Cheer Up Charlie - Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (Film) Feed The Birds - Mary Poppins Out There - Hunchback Of Notre Dame (particularly the beginning, when Frollo is telling Quasimodo that he's his only friend and that he's deformed and ugly - heartbreaking, especially when Quasimodo softly repeats what Frollo is telling him. Tom Hulce really does act with his voice in that film, as does the actor who plays Frollo.)

I do feel sorry for Sarah. TPTB should have seen how unfit she was for the role during rehearsals, and never allowed the situation to get this far. Incidentally, when is Press Night? Tomorrow night!! That's going to be interesting, then!

I actually think Sarah started off OK but, Jesus, she sounds awful by the end of it. She does! She runs out of breath at one point, and her voice lacks any power or depth!

Maybe they should repackage it as a comedy, along the lines of 'The Play That Goes Wrong'!

Pleased for Natasha, but thinking about a strange casting given that Kim Kardashian, Kylie and Britney were all apparently offered the part. The media were the ones claiming Kim, Kylie and Britney had been approached. I don't believe for one moment that Kim was ever approached (no singing or acting experience), and if Kylie/Britney were approached, it would have been for the role of Fairy Godmother (in the article I saw about Britney, it was mentioned that the role was small, so the rest of the cast could carry the show - which doesn't sound like Cinders).

Wow, so she was just offered the part. A star is born! Not strictly true - producer and co-director watched her in FG, then offered her the role. Still great, though.

I'm surprised it's taken as long as it has for this to happen. Great news, though!

I think Sheridan may have sung the wrong words because the line before "...my heart's a drummer..." ends with "...I'm a comer..." so it's an easy mistake to make, repeating the previous line and changing the last word to "...drummer...".

She's also a dancer - possibly working in that capacity, with Andrew Wright (choreographer)? I doubt he'd be 'getting creative in the studio' with the actress playing Cinders, or openly tweeting her before an official announcement had been made, for that matter.

She has a very limited vocal range is the troube. She always vcame across to me as the Victoria of the group (who is also my favorite Spice Girl!). The one who looks stunning but has the limited voice. So them keys will need to come down in order for this to even work in the first place. I feel this score is going to sound very different. Interesting that alot of people have stuff to say about Sarah but no one is talking about the male lead? Has he been in stuff before. He was great in Hollyoaks! Girls Aloud had songs that worked to their members vocal abilities (pop songs afterall), but Sarah is easily the 2nd strongest vocalist after Nadine - Sarah can deliver and is absolutely not the Victoria of the band (Kimberley obviously was - she was always over looked). The only saving grace in all this is that she'll have probably auditioned and sang With You to prove she can do it. I'd say that Nadine and Nicola are the strongest vocalists. Sarah is average. Has Sarah got any previous experience of theatre work or any training?

I'm guessing that for the article, worst = biggest flops, rather than musicals considered bad which have recouped their investment/had a reasonable or long run. Looking at the ones that made the 'A' List, I noticed some that ran for weeks or even days before closing!

I think the Ghost bods have shot themselves in the foot with this. Yes, the announcement got them loads of publicity, but there has been quite a bit of negative reaction to it. It would have been a good idea to release a video of Sarah singing one of Molly's songs, along with the announcement (to basically show that she can actually sing). I'd have preferred that to the publicity pic, which is one of the most unsexy things I've ever seen!
It does still seem like completely random casting to me. Either Sarah was their 157th choice, or Alan Partridge was in charge of casting (in which case, look out for a scene featuring tennis playing monkeys, and Chris Eubank as Oda Mae!).

I've cancelled my tickets for Wimbledon. She's awful and this will KILL the tour. Sorry...
I love this bit - one of the worst examples of 'angry acting' I've ever seen!

This does seem to be a completely bonkers casting decision. The casting bods mustn't have seen her infamous appearance on Corrie, where she was out-acted by Rita, Emily, Norris and the Barlows' front door!
Seriously, was she the best they could come up with?

I think Robbie Williams would struggle with the discipline expected of MT performers. He's used to swaggering around a stage doing his own thing and interacting with an audience. Unfortunately, in a musical, he'd be expected to play a role, stick to the script and perform the songs himself and with others on the stage. Given that he seems to have the attention span of a goldfish and a tendency to play to the audience, I can't see him being able to handle being in a musical. He also doesn't have a great voice - I can't see it standing up to 8 shows a week.
If he wants to get into MT, then perhaps he should take it one step of a time rather than trying to write and perform in musicals. Even Gary Barlow hasn't done both yet, and probably never will. It's about playing to your strengths.

I think Marni's real talent (apart from having a phenomenal voice) was being able to mimic the actresses she was dubbing. When Maria starts singing in the finished version of WSS, it isn't jarring.
