Natalie A also had problems with her vocal cords and that why she didn't finish her standby run. I saw her 1st show and she was brill. She tried to come back but unfortunately between Sherrie (Which is also a demanding role. Jodie Jacobs & Cordelia Farnworth both said the same in ROA year 1) and Elphie just messed up her vocals x

Can any expert name the leads ? Zizi Strallen as Mary Poppins. Charlie Stemp as Bert Poppins. Was Killian Donnely the Phantom ? Michael Ball as Javert. Carrie Fletcher as Fantine. John Owen Jones as Jon Val Jean. Killian was the phantom, someone said Holly wasn't 100% hence why the last bit was mimed but who knows. It was lovely to see musical theatre back on our tv!!

Transferring to the University of East Anglia (Norwich) on 9 and 10 October, with added Cleve September. Inside a tent, so protected from the elements. No single seats, unfortunately, although the box office do say to ring them and they will see what they can do. But they don't open the box office until 1pm and I don't know what will be left by then. A shame, as I would like to go, but nearly all the groups are 4s, which of course is what you'd expect from everyone attending in their bubbles. Also adding Sophie Issac & Frances Mayli McCann & Sophie Isaacs. I would also love to see this again with the new cast

I went to see this last night & really enjoyed myself. I did ask at the box office if i had to wear my mask, they advised it was down to me as we were outside with the seats social distance rule.
The stage was really cleverly placed between the cast & it was nice to just hear some live music/theatre again

won't be rushing back to see this unless it goes back to the original version, not the lewd sexist version last toured. I actually agree with this... i loved the original version!!

Karim went to Sylvia Young & Kelvin had dance experience. People are probably warming to Alex, Emma & Chris as there seeing improvement. With Saffron i wonder if it because of AJ (there rumors he getting bit to big for his boots and really believes he going to be in the final (esp with Giovanni & Kevin not in there)

Why were they the likely candidates? Graziano, yes after last year but why Gorka? Kevin is defending champion, Anton is an original, AJ seems very popular, Giovanni has done very well in the show before and also has a large fan base. Aljaz is married to Janette and is a former winner and Kevin is defending champion. So if you were told to move 2 down then they were the likely ones. Remember when Joanne Clifton was dropped and next series she won it. I really hope it will be the same for Gorka

That may be on the website but last Wednesday evening it was definitely the alternate with no announcement or obvious foyer signage. Christie was out sick last week, so Philippa went on for her scheduled performances and all weekend as far as I know. Christie returned last night x Christie was back on when i went to see it last Saturday evening

I think Maria understudied Roxanne Pallett in Rocky Horror which may solve that mystery oh god, it all makes sense. She U/S Roxanne Pallet but also Dani Harmer who did the 2nd leg of the RHS after Roxanne pulled out

Taken from WOS Danielle Hope is to join the cast of the UK tour of Rock of Ages, it has been announced. The winner of Over the Rainbow joins the cast with Sam Ferriday, whose previous theatre credits include The Jersey Boys and Ghost the Musical. Hope has starred as Eponine in Les Miserables and Maria in the UK tour of The Sound of Music. Hope will play Sherrie, until 24 Novemer, and on the 26 November Jodie Steele will play the role following her performance in Heathers the Musical. Ferriday is to play the role of Stacee Jaxx until 9 December. Hope and Ferriday join the previously announced Kevin Kennedy as Dennis, Zoe Birkett as Justice, Luke Walsh as Drew, Lucas Rush as Lonny, Andrew Carthy as Franz, Vas Constanti as Hertz and Rhiannon Chesterman as Regina. Also joining the cast are Erin Bell, Alexander Day, Joshua Dever, Paris Green, Sinead Kenny, Ryan Lee-Seager, Adam Strong, Saran Webb and Bobby Windebank. The tour of the musical begins at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on 20 September this year. It features songs including "We Built This City", "The Final Countdown", "Here I Go Again", "Can't Fight This Feeling" and "I Want to Know What Love Is". The tour continues across the UK until 27 July. Sam going to be an interesting Stacee Jaxx for me

Numerous cast members posting online about early rehearsals this morning so there clearly is going to be a good bit of change for the west end run. Jodie Steele is one of those posting about it so she obviously is doing some bit of the west end run. No idea how that is going to work with ROA. I won't be surprise if they got either Stand by for the 1st few places Jodies misses on the tour or Erin bell take Sheree and someone cover her role from the ensemble!

I suppose as it's closing soon there is little point! Depends on the producers, The Commitments/Beautifull did WEL and were closing in the westend a few months later.

Wishful thinking but I can imagine Chris Peluso being a good Javert. And since Fat Friends will have finished can we have Jodie have a go as Madame T in the UK now. I saw her play Madame T in Dubai, she was amazing, i i happily 2nd this!!!!

If Rosa's off (presumably sick) and Lauren James Ray is on, does that mean they would have to bring in yet another person to ask as emergency standby? It would be way less complicated if they promoted Rosa to temp. lead and had Aimee as first cover, then promoted one of the girls in the ensemble to 2nd cover. It would save them panicking and calling in people like Lauren, Natalie McQueen and Zoe George all the time for when someone is sick or on holiday. Surprised, esp with Maria being an Ex Nessa Cover! i agree Rosa to Temp, Amy 1st cover and put Maria Stand by Nessa

I don't know if anyone is familiar with Ashley Parker Angel who is playing Fiyero right now on Broadway but he posted a production photo plus a story about how he didn't get the role the first time he went for it but then auditoned again later on and got the role. I then saw a comment from Oliver Saville saying the same happened to him! Like EXCUSE ME who the f*** did they pick over Oliver to play Fiyero??? I just can't imagine which Fiyero of the past 5 years would have been better than him. It was Jeremy Taylor's 2nd year Oliver was offered u/s Fiyero 1st time round.

I agree I don't like torvill & Dean as Judges, i prefer Karen and Robin and them doing Choreography for the pro's. I felt sorry for Max his pro went way to advance for week 2 as he a talented skater.
Also what I didn't agree with the skate off result. As much as it pained me to say this but i totally agree with Jason. We should be voting what we see in the skate off and not there previous performance. Why i felt lemar did a slightly better performance he did slip. Steph did the routine with a clean sheet !! Previous series this would cost the celeb/pro but doesn't seem this way!!
What is with the Old pro's being voted off 1st Matt now Sylvan?

They only allowed to use the material that the Beano have approved which is a shame on the cast as they are a talented bunch!

I agree. Clare Halse and Tom Lister were both there for 42nd Street, likewise Andrew Polec and Christina Bennington for Bat Out Of Hell. The shows with the leads performing easily outnumbered those which featured the understudies. It's just a shame that one-song performances seem to be increasingly becoming the norm. At least Our House and Bat Out Of Hell gave us medleys of three songs to finish. Just a shame about the triple dose of banging and clattering in between from Stomp! Also Wind in the Willows played it cleaver. They Had Simon Lipkin and Craig Mathier in the Sunday slot. Les Mis was all the cast also Mama Mia. Phantom Of the Opera Was Ben and Celinde, Lion king was the leads & Wicked had there current leads. American in Paris also had there principal leads Ashley recently took over Jerry full time. Beautiful was all there cast promoting. (so bit hash to say was u/s central) Kinky boots did it deliberate and used Simon, who will be Lola full time in a few week- brilliant way to promote

Ha Ha i know right, when i saw it on Broadway the only one who had a good accent was Lauren, but she was from Liverpool. Girl playing Nicola was awful Ooh. The Lauren on the recording isn't great. Charlie has a good accent in terms of a generic English one but not regional. Then again I didn't see them perform the whole show; only heard the recording. Ahh the Charlie and Lauren i saw were the cast that took over from Stark & Annaleigh Ashford. Billy Porter was still Lola at that time
