Miriam as Angelica and Christine as Eliza tonight (so presumably Courtney Mae Briggs as Peggy/Mariah) - wish I could be there for that show! Rachel was Angelica, with Christine Eliza and Sharon Peggy/Mariah. Along with Ash as Hamilton and Sifiso as Burr

Think the ‘corn nuts’ will be moving onto the new obsession of Dear Evan Hansen next year? I don't think so. Carrie isn't in it far as we are aware, and also Dear Evan Hansen is very much a universal audience kind of show, whereas Heathers is more a teenage girl show. Mean Girls is more likely to draw that kinda group. Just piping up to say not all Heathers fans are Carrie fans 😉

On the flip side, out of the 4 times I’ve been they asked to see all 3 items every time. I guess it just depends who you interact with on the door. Yeah, I’ve been 7 times and the most recent visit was the only time I wasn’t asked for ID - I don’t know if it’s because I went in a bit later than all the other times, or if they’d just always been more vigilant door staff before.

I thought the Olivier rule was about number of performances by the cut off date rather than about performing on opening night? I think that's the production itself rather than specific performances. That rule sits at 30 performances, which I think is kinda shaley though as Mrs Henderson Presents and Beautiful were very close to the cut off and got nominated. And I don't know if they had enough performances under their belt by then, especially Henderson! I’m pretty sure the rule isn’t ‘30 performances by the cut-off date’ but essentiallly ‘at least 30 performances planned’, otherwise they’re bending that eligibility rule a lot! Beautiful was nowhere near 30 at the cut-off date that year, they’d only done 2 weeks of previews and had press night on the cut off date, and Mrs Henderson Presents had only done a week of previews by the cut off!

Is the problem that both shows are sold out and the only hope they have of going is day seats? Or just bonkers fan girl stuff? I don’t get it, but then I don’t like queuing in Sainsburys so certainly wouldn’t loiter around Picadilly at 5am for this. I’d have just booked in time! I know some of this group have seats booked for the final show, so they’re not relying on day seats (like some may be) but they consider the day seats ‘their seats’ and so they’re trying their best to make sure no-one else gets first dibs!

Watching tonight, currently in the interval, and just thought I would add my voice to those saying Act 1 should end with Wait For Me - completely agree. It feels like an act closer, and the way they’re staging it makes it seem like the act closer...and then it’s not.

Wonderful news. A quick google tells me that tickets are to go on sale next week. Anyone got anything more exact than that. I don't have southbank membership (much to my teen daughter's annoyance after this week's Michelle Obama ticket shenanigans) so am looking for the date that they go on sale to a general audience. Baz said November 16th (next Friday) for general sale

Charlotte Jaconelli was on when I saw it and Steve was in the front row. She made him get up, and touched his hair and said "I faked it every time... but I really did love your hair". Looking at the audience, I don't think there were any potential Steve's to choose from in the front row (one teenage long-haired guy, but he didn't look the type to be chosen). The Steve dialogue was almost word-for-word the same both I saw the show, so they may also want to avoid the need for ad-libs. Rebecca Lock almost never chose someone in the front row, her reasoning being if someone had queued for day seats there was a fair chance they’d know the show and know what was coming (this is specific to Haymarket, as TOP didn’t have day seats).

I would think it’s more likely to tour than return to the West End

Sophie, how did Jamie sound last night? Because his voice was wavering a bit on Monday (never heard him in anything but perfect voice before) I still haven't got to see Olivia, but I'm going again tomorrow (matinee) so I wonder if Carrie will still be off. From what she's been posting on Twitter (including photos of all the new medication she's been prescribed) she's still really unwell (there was one tiny moment on Monday where a note was slightly off, but she's been performing amazingly in the circumstances. He sounded his usual self. There was one moment part way through Freeze Your Brain (I think) where his voice broke slightly on one word but that could have been caused by anything as the rest of the time his vocals were as good as normal! Sounds like Carrie sounded better on Monday than she did on Saturday night, as there were a fair few dodgy notes during that performance. To someone who hadn’t seen the show before she might have sounded amazing but to someone who has seen it far too many times, it was really noticeable that she was struggling.

Earlier today they posted a document on the website with details heathersthemusical.com/about-and-reviews/and they were handing copies out in the theatre. For parts where the audience were allowed to sing, the house lights were brought up a bit, so that people could actually read the lyrics if they needed them/check which parts they were allowed to sing. I was apprehensive about going, but as soon as I knew Olivia was going to be on, I hoped it would be worth it (prefer her to Carrie, and Carrie was really struggling on Saturday so I think the right decision for her). As could be expected with the more ‘relaxed’ atmosphere, the screaming did get a bit much. Normally Heathers audiences are good at keeping the screaming and cheering to the ends of songs or iconic lines/moments (at least the ones I’ve been part of!) but tonight people were just screaming at everything, regardless of if it meant screaming over lines (spoken or sung). That part got quite tedious, the singing part was good fun!

Am I the only one who can't wait for this show to close? I enjoyed it when I saw it, some of the cast are great, but the fans are so annoying, and seeing it constantly on Twitter and Instagram is boring me so much more than any show, possibly that I've ever seen. Matched with their mistakes in pricing, promotion and everything. It's closing can't come sooner for me. Daniel, you had already made a post to this effect, did you really need to make another one? As someone who loves this show, it’s comments and attitudes like this that put me off posting anything in here because of feeling like I’m going to be judged for enjoying the show or that it’s just go to set people off again listing the reasons they don’t like it. I don’t disagree that some mistakes have been made, but other productions have made similar mistakes ie. with regards to pricing and yet have not been vilified in the way you’re trying to do with Heathers. (And whilst initially the pricing may have seemed like a mistake, it really isn’t doing badly right now) You don’t like the show and can’t wait for it to close? Great, how about you just let it get on with its final few weeks and then it will be out of your hair, but you don’t need to keep posting about how much it annoys you.

Aladdin celebrated 1000 performances tonight! It's actually 1001 according to the twitter account which is a random amount to celebrate 1001 Arabian Nights, so not so random for this show

Rebecca Lock is in rehearsals for Kiss Me Kate so Charlotte Jaconelli makes her debut as Ms Fleming at today’s matinee (Rebecca back for this evening)

She is, but "accidentally" (at least the way the Clorox thing is played, she picks up the wrong cup seemingly in error). I have this thought in my head that in the workshop productions, Andy Fickman read the stage directions and JD actually swapped the cups around while Veronica was distracted - am I imagining this (as in, does anyone else remember this from the workshop)? In any case it would be a smart move imo. I saw the workshop a couple of times and in my head can hear Andy emphasising that Veronica picks up the wrong mug, no input from JD (though that’s not to say they didn’t try something different at some point throughout the workshop week)

It could also be possible that third party sellers just haven’t received direction yet, and will be told to allow ticket purchasers to swap to another performance.

Olivia on as Veronica again. Wondering if no announcement was made because of the number of negative comments on Twitter last weekend

Even though you didn’t book through them, I would contact Theatre Royal Haymarket. Tell them what Encore have told you and ask if there is anything they are able to do that won’t incur a charge. I’ve seen on Twitter that they’ve been very helpful with people who weren’t able to make their booked performance despite booking with a third party so I think it’s probably worth talking to them.

That would show off the steps that the dancers were doing and add elegance and glamour to the routine. And tell the cameramen to get shots that show legs and feet, rather than close ups of facial expressions! The camera work on Strictly is so poor these days, if you care about looking at the dancing and technique

I just saw Olivia Moore as Veronica in Heathers, she was brilliant and would be a great Zoe for DEH. Completely agree

I don’t necessarily think Carrie is trying to ‘promote herself’, she doesn’t get creative choice over what goes in the programme I don’t think. One thing that does irk me about it though is that ‘Westerburg’ is spelt differently to how it is on the set The brochure has the correct spelling now, they probably corrected it after the first batch

Love an announcement about an announcement. Was hoping we would at least have a release date though. Yeah, that was rather anticlimatic

Loved it first time I saw it. Second time was a little disappointing for some reason. Btw is that Luke Baker aka the bully in "...About Jamie" in the pic stagebyte posted a few months ago? Yes in that picture Luke Baker is 2nd from the left, from when American Idiot was at the Arts
