I know I'm in the minority but I much prefer KMP's version of Don't Forget Me. I would love to watch season 1 again, but until someone can find a way to erase Ellis from it, I can't. I keep throwing heavy things at the tv whenever he's on the screen. His character was horrendous. I was at the Bombshell concert in New York, and he was in that. Well, I say 'in' it. He walked across the stage carrying something, to resounding (basically good natured) "Boo, hiss" etc, then walked off. That was it.

Yes - he's no Jeremy Jordan (who I'd love to suggest but he's too young if Glenn Close is Norma, and maybe a little too young anyway) but he can sing quite nicely. Bit too much vibrato for my taste in this one but the only musical theatre song that came up immediately: He was also on Glee, but with the amount of auto-tune going on on that show, I tend not to view it as proof of anything... I'd love to see him as Joe, for completely non-shallow reasons.

Years ago I was involved in one of Jane's tours, and she always talked during shows about her Mum and how we'd find her 'selling the CDs in the foyer'. For ages I thought it was a joke, until I finally had reason to GO to the foyer, and sure enough, there she was. Such a shame to hear what's happened - must be difficult to perform (especially during shows when she would have mentioned her Mum).

Wow, I'd be hacked off if I'd booked row K and now found my extra legroom (and probably better view) swiped to cram in another row at the back.

That's disappointing, I'd rather have Groundhog Day than Waitress any time.

I'm not sure it's possible for this to sound less interesting at this point.
Oh, wait. They could get Katie Price to 'sing'.

DVO was said with tongue in cheek. Of course she couldn't sing it but she is a name. Andrew likes Alexandra Burke or Beverely. Maybe they could do it? Or Nicole Scherzinger? Not Alexandra Burke, please. Saw her in Sister Act and couldn't understand a word she was mumbling. Not great if you're the one telling the whole story!

Don't think I've ever had so many different emails about tickets for one show. Into double figures since Thursday. I've had a ridiculous number this week too. Oddly, considering that this show was one of my earliest favourites (and the first show I ever saw in the West End - with Phillip Schofield) I have no desire to book it. That might change if I can get tickets on the cheap, but I'm not paying £85+, and I'm not sitting at the back in the absolute barn that is the Palladium. Maybe TodayTix closer to the date, depending on the casting.

Lion King.
I've been putting off seeing it for years because there's always been something I'd rather see instead. Happened to have a Sunday free and got a cheap ticket for a really great seat at the matinee.
Audience going nuts, rapturous applause, etc. Meanwhile I'm sitting there thinking "Is that it? This is what people rave about?"
I'd been told "Oh, you don't see the masks, you see the animals". No, I didn't. I saw some excellent performers and some seriously mediocre ones in moderately inventive costumes. The music was beautiful, but the whole thing seemed to be hamstrung by the film's existence. Shoehorned 'comedy' moments which had everyone else rolling around laughing, and me rolling my eyes.
So glad the ticket was cheap.

Last song of the night? I'm not a fan of standing at concerts in general (I'm short, I have enough difficulty seeing when sat down), but it was the last song, hardly unusual. She should have been told where to shove it.

A DVD would be absolutely wonderful. Also really looking forward to taking my Mum to watch it in cinemas. She won't be able to make it to London and really hope she loves it as much as I do. Same thing here. I really wanted to take my Mum down to see the show but couldn't make the timing work - she'll love to see this at the cinema.

I wouldn't ban them outright, but I do think they should be more difficult to get. Restrict where they can be bought, up the age limit to 21 minimum, maybe even require people to be licensed - enough restriction to stop idiots from getting their hands on them. And availability no more than the day before - none of this making them available for weeks.

Olivia said on her Instagram Story that a personal area popped out during "Dead Girl Walking" last night. God, you can just imagine the outrage of all the parents having to usher their kids out. 😂😂 I was front of the circle and it was barely noticeable - she might have felt 'out' but from the audience it just looked like she was quickly adjusting in order to avoid a wardrobe malfunction, not that there had already been one. A bit awkward but that was all.

It seems she's taking very reasonable precautions for her health, so anyone who whines about it is just generally rotten. I'm actually surprised more performers don't avoid SD for health reasons, even without a problematic immune system, as all the unpredictable touching from strangers has to be a great way to catch bugs. I know I've read more than one celebrity saying how ill they get after conventions, even if all they do is shake hands.

I'd say it doesn't really matter what age you are as long as you can make it look believable on stage that you are a 17 year old. I don't know how old Jodie is but I'd guess late 20s/early 30s. Honestly, for a show like this I'd put it in the same 'box' as Hairspray (where I don't think I've ever seen a Tracy much under 30 and it never occurs to anyone to care). It's cartoony and overblown, and when you've got the same actors who play (multiple) parents or teachers turning up as teenagers in the party scenes, it's hardly a big deal.

Such a shame to see Obioma Ugoala is leaving - one of my favourite memories of seeing Hamilton is his 'One Last Time'. Helped that he looked me directly in the eyes for the last repetition of the title (probably a thing that happens when you're front row centre). He's so damn magnetic on stage. I'd love to see his performance somehow recorded officially, even if it is only that one song.

Love it. Absolutely love it. Considering the loud, high-pitched noise I made watching that at home it's probably for the best that I wasn't there! Definitely need to do that again on closing night at the very least.

I tend to use "This is ridiculous, what am I doing here? I'm in the wrong story!" on occasion. And "You're so nice. You're not good, you're not bad, you're just nice" a little less frequently. Sometimes follow it up with the next line.

The idea that the word should shut down the critcism is getting old. If you've acted like an absolute arse in the theatre, you SHOULD be shamed for it. It's an age-old custom designed to discourage bad behaviour. I just wish it worked more often!
And back on topic...fun at The Play That Goes Wrong a while back. Sat second row of circle, front row not completely occupied, only a couple of girls there. Who promptly proceeded to commit my personal theatre pet hate - the front row 'lean'. Seriously, people, if you're front row you already probably have the best view going - stop spoiling it for everyone behind!
After curtain call, one of the actors was making a speech about another show reaching a landmark, and these two would. Not. Sit. Down. Remained standing long after everyone else had sat down again, blocking the view of the remaining speeches, obviously trying to catch the eye of the actors. So obnoxious. I heard someone behind us saying "Sit the f*** down!" but no luck.

I liked the trailer, aside from the very odd things going on with Emily Blunt's accent - not sure why she's dipping her voice the way she is. Sounds neither natural, nor anything like Julie Andrews, which is odd because I expected one of those things, though both was always too much to hope for.
Lin's accent made me smile, because it was exactly what I was hoping for - a full on bad Cockney like my beloved Dick Van Dyke. Who has sold me a ticket based on his cameo alone!

She was terrible in Hairspray, but then the whole thing was a bit of a train wreck. She seems harmless enough though.

I can still go, but as I'd already booked the train for the original date, it's going to cost me! On the up side, I moved my ticket to the new performance and now I'm sitting nice and close to the front, dead centre, instead of next to a wall.

Saw this yesterday - really enjoyed it and would probably go back (if there were any tickets). I enjoyed Carrie's performance, though I would have preferred a little more control at a few points. She seemed to me to be more suited to the comedy aspects of it, it worked for Heathers as there's an element of comedy to the majority of it, not sure I'd see her in anything dramatic. Rebecca Lock was fantastic - of course - those were some seriously great vocals on 'Shine a Light'.
Not sure I like the replacement of 'Blue' with 'You're Welcome'. It makes the boys seem far more malevolent (instead of just thoughtless, rude, stupid teenage boys). It was really well done though.
The audience were going nuts, and occasionally it felt a bit OTT. But you know what - it was at the end of songs and nobody was making a nuisance of themselves by chatting, rustling or generally being noisy otherwise, so I'll take it. I'm not counting the occasional excited noises from the teenage girls near me when they realised a favourite song was beginning.

That's not what I was told by friends who went. One left at the interval. But I daresay she might have been to some people's taste - someone cast her, after all. Martine was excellent and she won the Olivier. I don't think your friends' opinion was shared by many. It's a really shame that clearly musical theatre was not for her because she could have had a great career in it And if your friend left at the interval because of *one* poor performance, I'm guessing he/she isn't a great musicals fan Actually, he normally loves musical theatre. He said she was overly poppy, among other things. As for the Olivier, well I'll give her this, it was one of the funniest 'winner' announcements ever just watching Jonathan Pryce's face. Had to be worth it just for that.

Oh come now, the people who did get to see her said she was very good. It's just that she wasn't on most of the time! Let's not re-write history, folks. That's not what I was told by friends who went. One left at the interval. But I daresay she might have been to some people's taste - someone cast her, after all.

That works great if you're buying a pair of tickets and it won't let you take two and leave one free.
When you try to book the single, you can put it in your basket because it still leaves two tickets. Then buy the remaining pair in the other window and release the single.
You can do a similar thing with one out of two seats sometimes, if the same seats are available from more than one ticketing site. They don't all apply the same restrictions.
I've gotten used to a few tricks of this type, since I get so annoyed at being denied the seat I want that I'll just not go if I can't find a way to get it.

Considering that friends told me they were giving away tickets at one point for Sunderland, this isn't surprising, though it's awful for all involved. A few people I know did go, and enjoyed the show - maybe it's just too soon for this one to be going around again.

I don't know if this would be considered bad behaviour, but yesterday I went to the cinema to watch Edie (great little film incidentally). I was the only one in there, or so I thought. It's one of those cinema's without reserved seating so you just pick when you get in there. I got my favourite spot three rows from the back in the middle. As the trailers started, this old bloke wandered in and, despite having an entire cinema of free space, he decides to plonk himself down right next to me. I appreciate he had the right to sit wherever and I could have moved, but I was in my favourite spot and, not to sound childish, but I was there first. I doesn't matter in the scheme of things but I like seeing films on my own and hearing him rustle his way through a packet of Werthers did spoil in a tad. This is when a lot of people might be tempted to pull a Rimmer and sit directly in front of him.
