Des McAleer is the only actor to appear in all three plays I think, in a significant role at least. There were more opportunities to cross-cast the plays they didn't take. Kenneth Branagh always wanted to stage the four great (late) Chekhov plays cross-cast and in rep which seems an obvious thing to do and I'm surprised no-one has done it.
Olivia Vinall is in all three as well

Branagh himself should step in Nice idea, but I think the age gap with Juliet could make him look like he should be on some kind of list, if you know what I mean. Haha yeah. But he was soooo convincing in Harlequinade with that hair and "little jumps"!
Oh my! I would love to catch Freddie but will be n London only at the beginning of the next week.. Pls keep us posted on the subject

Massively enjoyed both platforms, thank you for sharing! And I just love the way Simon talks. So smart indeed.

Booked front row for Nov 15. Love earlier Stoppard and I've waited long enough to see Tom Hollander on stage so can't miss it

High numbers side, anything that gives a clear view to the top of the stage - basically, forward of row J. Tickets are priced in direct proportion to view, go H to D, as close to the expensive seats as you can. DO NOT take anything on the "low numbers" side forward of row G. You will miss a lot. Stick to high numbers if you can. That's much help, thanks!
The rake is also shallow in this theatre I've heard?

Any news on this? The last we heard of - transfer is planned from "middle of November" to West End- no theatre, no dates, no tickets. It's about time..

Do you mean I have to watch Part 2 as well?!! Kidding. Thanks for your answers. I should've assumed that this kind of magic extends long way beyond someone's death..

Thank you for the review, Kevin! And how's Jamie Parker? (sorry the only thing that interests me about this ) My friend is now making sure I watch the films but I'm not very impressed by the story or characters I must admit...
He is very good. Get past the fact he doesn't sound like Daniel Radcliffe (takes 10 seconds) and he basically is an older Harry Potter. Not to discredit his acting abilities, but I think the fact JKR has been involved means the script (despite not writing it herself) really does give us a familiar Harry, which helps us warm to him as Harry instantly. Thus far, it isn't a hugely challenging part. He has plenty of stage time, but I didn't feel like he was the main character at all - which is probably why Jamie isn't being pushed to the front above the rest of the cast. Thanks! Frankly by watching the films I could not understand how we all are supposed to like the character of Harry. He is so boring... Or is it just me? )
So judging by the events in Part 1 does it mean that where will be no Jamie in Part 2?

It saddens me no end.. All of my friends are huge fans of NTLive (still visit encores for Beaux' Stratagem!), not everyone can make it to London...

[spoilers] I need time to process the rest but it's all very, very well done. This will never leave the west end. Thank you for the review, Kevin! And how's Jamie Parker? Anyone who saw the first two productions under Emma - just curious: do they still break the forth wall frequently? I know there are people who hate it, but for me it one of The Globe appeals - I had so much fun during these interactions with groundlings. Makes each show special.

Fancy Barn & Amadeus. Very curious to know who's playing Mazart to Msamati's Salieri.
I wonder why they haven't announced NTLive for this season yet.. Hope not saving funds and not doing it...

Returning to the topic - anyone seen this apart from Mister I-Hate-Everything? I fancy it because of Sam Crane & Ben Miles and 20 quid front row Friday Rush seats but it if proves to be that awful by everyone I might give it a miss.. Not too many days in London to spare and so much I want to see! In my favourite scene from the play, Miles' Harvey teaches everyone how to do a Greek dance. That's right, Harvey even knows how to Greek dance. Now I absolutely MUST see this! Steve, thank you for the review and for helping me make up my mind x I don't mind Chekovish plays, I usually like them more than epic ones.

I had an intent to leave theatre once or twice but never did. Something in me was hoping it gets better in the second half (and sometimes it does indeed!).
Cinema is different.. No live audience/acting so it's not that rude and hurts nobody's feelings I guess.. Left on a couple occasions when I could not endure anymore.. I remember once (Tree of Life it was) I really wanted to but my friend I went with was curling in the chair fast asleep beside me so I hated to wake her up and continued the torture. But yeah, life is to short for a crap film.

I knew Rory has a great voice since I heard him pulling off Puccini rather impressively in Burnt by the Sun at NT. He blows a trumpet since 5 so I think his lungs are certainly trained For the ones who've already been - is it a modern dress production?
