Still available from all good record shops. They're stood clutching each other behind a chain link fence. She's looking one way and he's looking t'other. The pair of them, along with Mandy Patinkin, also recorded South Pacific. The picture sounds familiar - I think I have a copy of it lurking around somewhere Ive most definitely got a CD copy of it (one of the first I bought), bought in the mid 80s immediately after the TV broadcast about it (Omnibus possibly??). Some of the best brass playing I've ever heard.

I think I'd go for the opening preview of Rent on Broadway, the performance the day after Jonathon Larson's tragic death. Descriptions from the cast of the atmosphere particularly for Act 2 make it sound quite something.
Can't think of anything else to be honest.

I'm dying to see a decent one after the RSC and NT travesties. Let's hope they first concentrate on making it good. I'll be honest, after reading lynette 's post before, I read transvestites.....

When you make your first real visit to the world-famous Crucible Theatre, you should also try and find time to visit our "internationally important" tool museum. 🙂 Is there a globally recognised order of precedence? I know you’ll be fascinated to know TallPaul that my father was working at world renowned tool makers Stanley when he met my mum who was working at world famous silversmiths Roberts & Belk... and the rest is history. We didn’t have a lot as kids but were never short of a chisel when we needed one, or an EPNS spoon to dish out the Birds Trifle in a Sunday tea time 😁 Very occasionally, there are times when I bloody love this board!!

Never heard of a gennell. When I lived in Liverpool we had barmcakes. They had a light flour covering on them. Now Mr theatreian, I think you are getting all ends up here. A gennell (ginnell) is the rear access to a property, a barmcake is summat you put in your gob. Don't confuse the two. However, flour on a barm makes it a breakfast roll. But in north Wales, they were baps anyway. Can confirm North Wales has baps!

He did the first of 3 livestreamed concerts on Saturday. Broadway songs, basically songs from his Stages album with a couple of additions, with his pianist and guitarist again. Very well done once again. The 2nd is on November 26th promoting his new album, and a 3rd Christmas show is sometime in December (19th rings a bell). Each is around £20 though to sign up for.

I don't mean to be crass but is this about two people .. It would be the title of a documentary about nightlife in Wrexham in the 1980s..

Wonderful live stream last night from Josh with his guitarist/MD Tariq Akone and his keyboard man Mark Stephens. Very slick and professional. 90 mins of high quality entertainment well worth the ticket money.

Groban! 😍😂 seriously the Stages concert was one of the best things I ever did see. Agreed. Remember I was at the front in Birmingham. His vocal was outstanding and the orchestra was fantastic. Wholeheartedly agree. One of the best nights ever in a theatre/concert hall

The Welsh Assembly Government announced yesterday that those in the shielding group will need to extend their isolation until the 16th August. Letters to be sent out next week.

Venue Cymru have just emailed to confirm Jamie is cancelled at their venue. They have not been able to reschedule. A link was provided in the email to select full or partial conversion to credit vouchers, donation to Conwy Arts or refund. I've selected partial conversion to credit as one of our group really needs a refund. Credit email will be received in the next couple of days with refund to account soon after. Seemingly painless compared to other experiences.

Dates I was initially offered didn't suit so contacted them and changed to a Saturday night performance. They even called me for card details instead of me emailing them. Very impressed with the service from them.

I'm shielding but also working from home. My head of department called us together just before the start of lockdown at the end of March and told 4 of us that we were 'on the list' (although what list he had access to I'm not sure) and were not to come in from the following Monday. I remained at home for 2 weeks but went for local walks but then received my shielding letter from the Welsh Government at the start of April. I had just picked up my work pc before that and have been working from home since then, just not going beyond my garden in the meantime.

I seem to be the biggest fan of this thread... (No surprise there, I love food and eating...) I love reading this thread as well. Which, as the 'Travelling to Theatre' thread was also one of my faves, is making me think I don't actually have any interest in theatre after all! I do have to google occasionally what some folks have had though, most recently arugula, yuzu tea and instant ramen so I'm broadening my knowledge as well!

Two runny poached eggs on white toast. Plenty of black pepper and ketchup. Followed by a pear and a strawberry yoghurt.

I've had a right result this morning. Doing some tidying, I found a tube of Jelly Tots and a big bag of Skittles hidden amongst some other stuff. 🙂 Lockdown ain't all bad! If it's anything like our house, they'll be dated about 1992
