Four hours in and I'm sure I'm watching a different drama to the critics. They universally think it's the best thing ever. I think it's nothing more than okay.
Lucy Mangan, in The Guardian, practically exploded because she was able to use "speechifying" in the same sentence as Margaret Thatcher. No doubt she's now excused from Kings Place tea making duties for at least the next month!
For me, James Graham has a tendency to tell his stories too thoroughly. I thought it about Ink; I thought it about This House; I think it about Sherwood.
Am I right, or am I right?

his best prize was a set of luggage on the Paul Daniel's one whose name escapes me. Every Second Counts? One Question, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, launches tonight on Channel 4. Contestants only have to answer one question to win 100k!

Sheffield Teachers Operatic Society (one of the big three) presents the city premiere of Sunshine on Leith at the Lyceum. Tuesday 15 to Saturday 19 November. I won't be making this same lazy gag as Sheffield Theatres has! 🙄

You really shouldn't wear such tiny trunks when you've only got a small part. 😉

No word of a lie, when I got to the railway station yesterday morning, at just after 8 o'clock, there was a man sitting on the platform in a deckchair. He was also wearing shorts and flip flops Train weren't even going to Brid!

And the prize for theatre book of the year goes to...a book about the world-famous Crucible Theatre. Available, for the price of the average theatre ticket, from all good book shops.

Too early! You should have posted that at exactly 7.45pm tonight.

In the circumstances, you would surely be allowed to change your booking to a different date, anita. With only a few weeks to go, it's not exactly a sell out.

There was a time in the 1990s when I was being officially opened by Princess Anne every couple of years. Every time I went somewhere new, she followed. Not once, not twice, but three times it happened!
And I was there, of course, when Prince Edward re-opened the world-famous Crucible Theatre after its refurbishment.

That nice Dan Walker starts his new job tonight on 5, at 5. I wouldn't miss it for anything, so I'll be tuning in to 5+1 at 6.
What a day to be making his debut!

The focus may be on London this weekend, but there's still plenty going on in the grim north. My day began with a turn around the Sheffield food festival. I won't lie, I'm a little disappointed that only four of the traders are using a converted horsebox.By the time the rest have caught up, the trend will have moved on. In the square outside the world-famous Crucible Theatre, they're filming The Full Monty. That Robert Carlyle has really let himself go! They were so well disguised, I found myself accidentally standing amongst those with small parts. 😉 Later this afternoon, when 'its a wrap', I'll be going to an extravaganza in the park, as Jonny Briggs' brother would say.

I didn't realise until today that there are two dates when it's possible to see all three plays, with performances at 11.30, 3.30 and 7.30. I'm tempted, but will I have the stamina? Will the cast?
When I was at the world-famous Crucible Theatre last week, Rob Hastie revealed that the design for 'Rock' makes use of the red steel grid under the stage, which is normally hidden from view. Tres excited!

Seats on modern trains do tend to be firmer than in the past. The seats on the LNER Azumas, where journeys of three hours plus are not unusual, are truly awful.
I believe it's a safety measure, so passengers remain in their seats in the event of a crash, rather than being ejected.

He occurred to me mainly because he was good running Sheffield Theatres but he only stayed for a couple of years for some reason, I think they closed for a while for redevelopment... While the world-famous Crucible Theatre was closed for its modernisation, Sam West wanted to temporarily transfer its producing functions to the Lyceum Theatre next door, which is normally a receiving house. The board decided otherwise, so with nothing for him to do for two years, they went their separate ways. I wonder if Rob Hastie has applied. It doesn't seem like it, but this is his seventh year in Sheffield, so may feel like now is the time for a new challenge.

Why not share CBBC/Cbeebies channels with BBC 3 or 4. That's exactly what happens!

Perhaps you need to clear your cache, or cookies, or whatever, showgirl? As you can probably tell, I don't know the first thing about technology, but I do have a symbol!

In just a few minutes I shall be heading to the world-famous Crucible Theatre...to listen to the original architect of the world-famous Crucible Theatre talk about the world-famous Crucible Theatre.
It's all part of the world-famous Crucible Theatre's 50th anniversary celebrations.
Perhaps that nice Dan Walker will be there. It's ages since we hung together!

I was hanging with that nice Dan Walker, and his lovely wife, yesterday afternoon. He's just a normal bloke, you see, who does normal things.
Pity it wasn't them sitting directly behind me. The people who were arrived late, then spent most of the next 45 minutes 'whispering' to each other.

I have it on good authority that TallPaul was in Sheffield Manor Operatic’s panto last year. It was Snow White and he wasn’t playing Snow…'Tis true. I was the principal boy! "Bold casting" The Star called it.

The thread name needs to change to 'Spike' the play UK Tour (or something similar), idk how to do that myself. We ask one of the nice Moderators...or BurlyBeaR .
