Palladium I must say also seems to have pretty decent views and sight lines, although I admit it’s been many years since I was in the upper circle there.

Enjoyed it as much as last time - super funny show and the cast really put everything into it. If you didn’t catch it last time and want a really fun night out do not miss this! And you can see it for as little as £15 with the PAYG scheme. Really hope they make a cast recording because there’s some banging songs.

In fairness to them, loads of venues charge to use cloakrooms... This show requires you to check them in though if you are on the dancefloor. I guess you could wear your coat but you'd be pretty warm.

I enjoyed this a lot. I found the music overall to be very good (a rarity in a lot of new musicals sadly) and it felt cohesive even though there were several different styles. I really liked the story and agree with Steve's comparison to Titanic, you have some interesting characters here and all their stories are woven in very well into what happened on Cable Street. It also has the opposite of what many musicals struggle with, act two is unquestionably stronger with some really great numbers - it is the first act which needs some tweaks. I found some elements similar to shows like In the Heights and Paradise Square, in the essence of it is a story of the community.
I actually thought the show felt too "big" for Southwark Playhouse. This is the sort of show that with some work, and a visionary director, could look absolutely stunning in a bigger house, and could justify a cast of 20+ actors. I'd be curious how it might have looked had somewhere like the Almeida or Old Vic taken it on. I hope this show sees a future life.

I agree with a lot of what samchap8787 has posted. This is a cut down version of the full show. I had fun, the music was great, the cast were great. The "immersive" nature is not quite there yet, especially compared to G&D for which i also attended an early preview. This is the sort of show you want to dance too, it was just way too crowded to do that comfortably. Some of the movements of the stage you were really pushed out the way and hemmed in so tightly. There is some audience participation in the third act which is really very funny and well done. My main issue is how they don't even try and disguise how much of a cash grab it is. £2.50 to check your coat, and another £2.50 to check you bag, oh and do you want to leave a tip?!? That's another £5 down before it even starts. Two intervals, the first act of which ends "oh you all look parched, you need to get some drinks". Stops the show dead, one interval would be more than sufficient. They were at least 15 minutes each. Something about the venue and this show just didn't click right for me. Is this a staged immersive production, or is it a high end drag show. Would I go again? Yes (at a heavy discount), but they have work to do and I don't think word of mouth will be strong enough to sell it at full price.

Marisha Wallace entered the Celebrity Big Brother house last night... How can you enter the Celebrity big Brother House if you aren't a celebrity? She’s more of a celebrity to me than a lot of the other housemates who are only famous from other reality tv shows and famous relatives. I was at the launch last night - she got a very good reaction.

On a first look, "Giant" really appeals in what looks to be a strong season and a good way forward for the Court.

It was a really great night. Great vocals all around, and the score truly shone through tonight - wonderful. Not sure the piece worked great as an “in concert” - you could just imagine it with a big set and costumes. Very glad I went though - I Will Never Leave You was perfection.

I saw Skeleton Crew on Broadway. Very enjoyable play and definite similarities to Sweat. Will be going for another visit.

Curious if the West End run will continue alongside (current booking to dates mean very little). It seems this is a show which really relies on visitors from the regions so I think sales will slow a lot more now that the tour has been announced. The press release says the west end production will run alongside it They often say that but end up closing either before the tour or not long after.

Next show at the Trafalgar theatre is "the return of one of the best new plays of the century". Any ideas? The History Boys?

I've booked using the London Theatre Week offer. £35, great value I think. I used a Seatplan voucher too so that covered £20 of the cost as well.

POTUS is incoming, or so I hear. A smaller venue than in New York and I’d guess a much less starry cast.

Has anyone won a single lottery seat for this? I always enter for just 1 ticket and haven’t won Wondering if I’d have more luck trying for 2, as I’ve read some rush tickets won’t give you 1 but will give you 2 Yes, on my first attempt for the Saturday matinee. Seemed at least another 3-4 solo winners in the front row when I went too.

I won the front row lottery today. Thought the whole thing was excellent. Stage is fairly high but don’t feel I missed much.
Didn’t know the play at all, so it was all new to me, but I all just worked so well for me. Highly recommend

Run is completely sold out. Certainly not used to that for shows at Southwark Playhouse.

Very enjoyable. Went in blind and thought it was a great show with a strong cast and very well staged. Another win for the Chocolate Factory.

I went on Monday. I’ll agree with an earlier comment that it didn’t quite have the same punch it did for me as it did the two times I saw it at the NT. Something was missing but I can’t put my finger on what that was. Maybe the sound mix wasn’t quite as good (seemed quiet at points), or maybe the cast aren’t quite there yet as an ensemble. I’m going to wait and try to see it again later on in the run.

That seems very unlikely given they have the panto scheduled and a load of concerts. Beginning of next year perhaps? They won an award at WOS tonight and one of the writers/ producers or something literally said it, lol It was very clearly a joke 😂

Really enjoyable. Some fantastic arrangements and vocals, it sounds wonderful and the cast are really great. I get the likeness to the Come From Away style storytelling and for the most part, it worked. The book could use some work for sure, but really its just a fun night out.

Have heard some clips and gosh that boy can sing! Raw talent. No doubt we will see him in more musicals to come.

I’ve been at WDW this past 2 weeks and been very lucky to catch 4 of the Broadway concert series at Epcot (some great performers including Caissie Levy, Gavin Lee, Heidi Blickenstaff) . Some really great selections from the Disney Broadway catalogue including Aida, Hunchback, Freaky Friday, Tarzan, Newsies along with the more obvious Lion King, Frozen etc.
What did stand out is three of the duos also did a song from The Greatest Showman. We got A Million Dreams, Come Alive and The Greatest Show. It probably doesn’t mean much but at a guess I think we may very well see some progress on this in the not so distant future.

I wanted to see The Human Body, but due to my own forgetfulness (and I’m sure although I signed up, I didn’t get a ‘on sale at xx’ email from the Donmar) I’ve missed out on tickets as their website now says sold out. Any info or experience on how easy it is to get returns / extra ticket releases here please? I have had success for the Donmar daily for tickets for the following week (including for Macbeth). I think that’s the best way to get tix
