Started about 5 minutes late TallPaul. As a show, it was just so poor. There was absolutely zero energy coming from the stage. And Flashdance should ooze energy. The music didn't sound beefy enough, the set design was dire, the lighting design was like being at a school disco, endless sound issues. No sound from the mics for the first song. I think Joanne Clifton has a good voice in there somewhere. I could hear potential, but she sounded ropey in this. Pitchey. Lead guy also poor. General dire diction as a cast overall, couldn't hear half of what they were saying. Most awkward moment was during I Love Rock & Roll when the four or so cast members on stage were doing the whole "clap along with me" thing...no-one clapped along. Sadly a typical Selladoor production...cheap cheap cheap. Apart from Joanne Clifton, who sang pretty well throughout, I could have written the same about the show in Bristol tonight. Worst thing I've seen at the Hippodrome since Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Centre of row E of the stalls is my personal favourite, had seats there for my last 3 visits, and booked centre row F for my next. Am tempted by front row for the time after that though.

I don't hate Lulu, in fact I've always quite liked her. Just don't think she suits this show at all.

I've looked back through the thread and I can't find when Lulu is off, does anyone have the dates please? June 22nd-23rd and June 30th Thanks very much! I'm thinking about a quick trip on Sat 16th but I don't really want to see her again.

"I am Telling You" - Dreamgirls. It's the reason I won't see the show which is a shame as "One Night Only" is one of my favourite songs. See I think the Effie section of One Night Only is one of the most boring parts of Dreamgirls, and I like the show. Fair enough. I've never actually seen the show or film so have only heard both songs out of context. Maybe I should see it and see if that changes my view.

I only buy ice cream at regional theatres where they cost less I've paid £4.50 at the Bristol Hippodrome but not more than £3.50 at any West End theatre. Yes, they are expensive but I don't normally have any other food or drink there so it's part of the experience.

I must admit that in those circumstances I have been known, on occasions where the pavement is crowded and there isn't an obvious sideways move available, to simply stand still and see how long it takes the phone user to notice that there is a very big obstacle in front of them. The reactions can be quite amusing...... I do that even if the pavement isn't crowded. Bonus points if they walk into me and drop their phone. That's my favourite hobby when I'm in Bristol city centre.

Not a great day so far - am clearing out bedroom ready for decorator on Tuesday and wanted wardrobes collecting. The 2 guys who came wouldn't take one of them as it's rotten underneath and so is the floorboard. There's also a crack in the wall which may or may not be an issue. So it's looking like a longer and more expensive job than just decorating!

There was a lady sitting in front of me at Jamie yesterday who I'm pretty sure is an actress but I can't remember her name or what she's been in. Most frustrating! It came to me as I was getting dressed this morning, it was Louise Jameson.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie on Sat. I was supposed to go in March but managed to exchange my tickets when it snowed.

I spent £20 buying truffles in a chocolate shop and I regret nothing. I've been to Fortnum's a few times now for special chocolates to enjoy at the interval. Pricey, but worth it!

Went on Saturday (4th time, 1st with the new cast). Everyone was great except Lulu. I was hoping she would be good, but thought she was awful. At least I can save my pennies until July, I will need to visit then as I'm a little bit in love with Ashley Day now!

Any of the 3 ladies above would be brilliant. I'm paying my 4th visit next week and am interested to see Lulu for myself.

My mistake, it's actually got 2 wheels but it's still stable. It's called "it luggage world's lightest cabin 2 wheel suitcase".

The It luggage range is great. The small suitcase is about £28 and is very light, plus it's got 4 wheels so doesn't fall over. I travel on EasyJet quite a lot as my parents live outside the UK so this case is just what I needed.

I did the Royal Albert Hall one a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Also had a gorgeous afternoon tea in the restaurant afterwards, I think the price for both was about £30.

On the good side, sent home from work at 3.30 today and unlikely to be going in tomorrow. On the bad side, unless National Express resume services, I don't think I'll be travelling from Bristol to London on Saturday to see Everyone's Talking About Jamie. Am hoping the theatre may exchange for a later date.
