I saw this on tour and thought it was magical, so I'm thrilled to have the chance to see it again. Also loved Charlie Stemp in Half a Sixpence, he'll be brilliant in this.

I'm going too - a group of 14 of us actually so that will be the fun bit for me. That and the fact we've taken the drinks package. I'm a tad scared at how geeky it's going to be but ho hum, it's my 45th or so cruise so I know the score. It's nothing like people think it is - and the ones I choose are not expensive either. I've just had 8 nights on a Cunard one for £522. See you there! I'm booked too! Possibly against my better judgement as I'm going on my own, but I had no other holidays planned this year so decided to throw caution to the wind. If either of you see someone sat on their own at the bar, please say hi, it may well be me! We should have a Theatreboard signal or something!

As I mentioned on the travel thread, I'm a fan of the Travelodge next to Marylebone Station. Basic but comfortable and there's an excellent cafe opposite the station, although sadly that's closed on Sundays. Also a fan of the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum. Just round the corner from Gloucester Road tube and about 10 min walk from the National Express bus stop by Tesco. The breakfast buffet was really good.

Matthew is on as Julian on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week if anyone fancies watching him. Thanks for the info. I'd love to go, but not sure I have enough annual leave left. I'm hoping to see him in Dec though.

There's row F stalls available for Sat 1st (eve) £25. I'm tempted!

I was considering the Odeon unlimited card but as far as I can see it doesn't include "event cinema" ie theatre broadcasts. I have a free Showcase Insider card which brings the price of these down to about £12, better than my local Vue which charges around £15 - 20.

I'll be doing the RAH one this November! Has anyone tried their restaurant? They're offering a tour + set menu deal. I had afternoon tea after the tour a couple of years ago and it was excellent. Beautiful cakes and very good value.

I was thinking about this, but the above details and the fact there's very little ATG card discount in Bristol has put me off.

I can provide character-references if needed. 😉 I can vouch for her - sat next to her at the theatre several times and am still alive to tell the tale!

I believe Joe Stilgoe is also involved with this from what he said on Twitter.

Friday - Shrek at Bristol Hippodrome. Judging by the recent posts in the bad behaviour thread, I'm dreading it a little!

I know Matthew Goodgame is on this week as Julian Marsh. Do we know any other dates? I can't get there this week but would love to see him. Nothing against Tom as I think he's great, would just like to see a different take.

I'm going to the matinee tomorrow. FINALLY!!!! How long is the show? Not long enough, I could watch it again and again!

It was visit 5 on Sat. Thought I couldn't love this show any more than I already did, but it surprised me yet again. That feeling when the overture seems to slow down, then ramps up again and the dancing feet appear, it's just stunning. I saw quite a few covers too, all great, it was especially interesting to see Hannah-Faith Marram as Peggy. Ashley Day was looking as gorgeous as ever. Booked for 5 Jan and wondering how many more times to go before then.

He really is good - and such matinee idol good looks 🤗, it’s a shame that he didn’t take over from Stuart at cast change! He's the only cover for any of the leads I've seen so far and I thought he was brilliant, better than Stuart tbh.

I was tempted to book for next year in Bristol, but the horror that was Flashdance has put me off.

I'll be taking my mum for her first trip in the autumn. I know she'll love it anyway but her night would be made if it was Jane Macdonald !

Minor in the grand scheme of things but audience members using a programme as a fan is annoying when it's in your eye line.

Best behaved audience I've ever been in at the Bristol Hippodrome tonight for Flashdance. I'm normally a stickler for good theatre behaviour, but I guiltily found myself hoping for some bad behaviour to distract from the awful production.
