I had to join a queue to book this morning! The first night had sold well when I was booking but plenty for the show I wanted. Haven’t checked out sales since.

Very thankful this thread exists as I never would have found their number online. By the time I got through all the recorded spiel about the exceptional number of calls they’re receiving and how I may be on hold for over half an hour my call went straight through. I don’t have much nice to say about ATG, but the lady I spoke to swapped my ticket no problem and the whole call only lasted three minutes. Great stuff. I had exactly the same scenario last week and only found the number on here!

Doesn’t the website ask if you want to receive emails every time you book? I’ve given permission this way every time but it hasn’t made a difference.

At the cinema and concerts I experience much more bad behaviour from males.

I’ve a ticket on offer for the matinee on Saturday 9th September. It’s on the notice board section.
The Donmar have said they will give me credit if I return it to them, which I will if no one wants it.

Their “advance” fares are now on sale very late, particularly weekend ones - they’ve started to advertise that fact on Facebook. And very expensive still. That along with the risk of strikes has been the main reason I’ve been to London only once since the pandemic. Was usually at least once a month prior to March 2020.

I’ve started to have issues with the website using safari on my iPad. Anyone else? It’s been fine using chrome on it, but a little bit of a nuisance. I still don’t get their marketing either.

Does anyone use this in Birmingham at the moment? I am thinking of signing up again but don’t know what kind of discounts it’s currently offering for the Alex. Used to be decent for opening nights. I just logged on and had a look at a couple of upcoming shows for the Alexandra, South Pacific and Fisherman’s Friends. They both had £10 off selected seats for opening night and £5 off for other midweek nights. I didn’t look at weekends. Thank you.

Another did mention it was Mazz Murray, but said she was from the Abba film 🙂 I’m sure Mazz was in one or both of the films (I forget which) as a background singer/dancer so not technically wrong 😅

Plus when you go to a stage door you’re not guaranteed anything and with this you can ensure, at a price, that you get the photo or autograph you’d like.

I think the real life order the show is based on left Poplar in 1974 so we have potentially 6 or 7 years left, although the show is renewed until 2024 at the minute and I suspect that may be the end. Today’s Radio Times has an interview with Heidi Thomas that says the nuns continued practising in Poplar into the 70s and then moved to Birmingham, so there is scope for it to carry on further still. No spoilers in the interview either, only had a quick glance so far, but apparently it might not get resolved in this week’s episode!

I think some of it could be people waiting for the convenience of getting the booster at their GP. I know locally that you need to travel outside of the immediate area if you book using the website whereas the local GP is more convenient but less frequent.

I have read about people suffering side affects but absolutely nobody among my pals had had other than a slightly sore arm or feeling tired. I would urge people to go get the booster. I think it will be an annual event! I had side effects (flu like aches, shivers, general feeling of being unwell) after all 3 Pfizer jabs but they lasted a day and a half at most (except the sore arm which was a few days) and I’d happily take it once a year.

Neither are particularly safe. It could be argued that the risk of working is unavoidable... eating indoors in a restaurant with friends is avoidable. (Reports coming out of California are finding a high correlation between eating at restaurants and catching COVID, even when people reported similar behaviors other than eating out. And other reports show there are fewer cases of airplane-related transmission than you'd expect. I assume the precautions most airlines are taking are helping with that.) Being with friends is likely to be dangerous because people feel safe and consequently relax, while those surrounded by strangers are going to be instinctively more on their guard. People tend to be terrible at judging risk at the best of times, and being in a place that feels safe while surrounded by those you know hits all the triggers for misjudging the situation. I'd expect being with friends at home is the most dangerous of all because it combines all the risk of mixing with others with still air, poor ventilation, and a low perception of danger. (People who have friends round really ought to be wearing masks, but how many people are?) There really needs to be more communication about and emphasis on the need to social distance at houses where you aren’t part of the household. I keep asking the people I know that are complaining about the new restrictions if they social distance when they do but they are all a bit sheepish. And I’ve seen the Facebook photos! I think people think it’s ok and normal so don’t have to when but it’s this situation they need to be more vigilant.

That’s what I thought. Oh they definitely have been ignoring that part so I think much more needs to be done to communicate that. Doesn’t matter if it’s 6 or 60 people you can meet if you aren’t socially distancing as well. Ok I know there’s greater risks the more people are involved but you get my meaning.

Aren’t you still supposed to social distance from the people you’re socialising with unless they are part of your household?

My faves so far Encore! Once upon a mattress - utterly brilliant Tracey Ullman princess and the pea movie. All the freaky Friday and parent swap films. I’m bingeing Encore! I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I’m incapable of getting through an episode without crying. I was the same with Coco the other day. It’s ridiculous. Coco is no surprise! It is probably the Disney film I cried the most at (and I seem to cry at loads of them)!

Mask use by me has been very low prior to today. Went into town today and everyone was wearing masks. I was pleasantly surprised.
