Great show, saw it on Broadway last year - really glad it’s coming over!

I saw Jamael one week after opening, and he was as stiff as a board - which I attributed to the show being very new and him not quite settling into the role yet. From all accounts, that hasn't improved, and I'm pleased to discover that Ash is on all week, just in time for my return visit. I am curious to compare the two - and also the chance to see Miriam in Rachel's role (although I thought Rachel was really excellent), as I've heard good things about Miriam's portrayal. I went in mid Feb and he was still stiff as a board. He had nothing of a young and passionate revolutionary and zero energy. I felt it made the other's flat at times too, especially in the battles, there was no energy to bounce off. I saw him on Thursday and thought he had really improved since I saw him in January, he had way more energy during My Shot than previously. Having seen both him and Ash, Ash definitely had more fire as the young Hamilton but I found him less believable in Act 2. Think Jamael is finally finding a good balance.

There's a music video out now - so you can see who is singing what part. That was fantastic and the harmonies were perfect. I actually prefer that version of the song, it seems to give Eliza some more character than the version thats in the show. Ideal! And yes I LOVE this version

Latest Hamildrop is pretty great. It's the first version of Burn sung by all the latest Eliza's: Arianna Afsar (Chicago), Julia Harriman (?), Lexi Lawson (Broadway), Rachelle Ann Go (London) , and Shoba Narayan (tour). I love it! Would be cool to know who's singing what but it sounds great overall.

Looks like Marsha was thrown on at the internal of tonight's show as Eliza! I was there, she was on the whole show. Didn't realise there was something else going on, but had found it weird that the staff when I came in said it was whole main cast - guess if it was very last minute that now makes sense. But I had actually been hoping to see her and loved her performance so was really happy!

I think the chances are very close to zero for it to make it out here in cinemas but I do so hope it's eventually released in some way I can see it! Loved the show when I saw it in Jan, such a great cast and I've never felt quite so hollowed out emotionally (in a good way) coming out of the theatre.

Me too, I didn't make it through the whole show the other night and the CBS videos aren't working for me so would love to see the rest!

Sorry if this has been asked before but why is it a show's closing date always advertised as "MUST END"? What started that particular terminology as it seems to me a slightly weird turn of phrase?

Past couple days I've been listening mainly to the released song "Letters" from Great Comet on repeat - I didn't like the song that much when I saw the show but I LOVE it now!
Other recent soundtracks I've been into have been Falsettos, Ordinary Days and Dear Evan Hansen (which was my go to for a while to relax in the evenings).

Isn't it a bit shady that Laura Linney and Cynthia Nixon are in non-competing categories for 'The Little Foxes' when they alternate the same roles? Surely if one if classed as a lead, so should the other. THEY'RE PLAYING THE SAME PARTS! Delighted for Lady Ehle getting yet another Tony nomination. Isn't Tony eligibility determined by who played the part on opening night? Hence why each is eligible for only one of the two parts, even though that does seem very odd in this situation.

Fair enough - Come From Away is the one I haven't had the chance to see so didn't know what Collela's chances were. I am not really expecting Falsettos to win any of their categories, but I was just thrilled to see it get nominated. Unlike last year when I had strong feelings about the acting categories (mainly for Leslie Odom Jr. to win), this year I'm pretty happy with the nominations and just excited to see how it plays out.

They, basically, nominated the entire cast of Falsettos, so maybe he just went by lol Funny thing: Les Mis also only got Revival and a nom for its lead star lol The thing with the cast of Falsettos is, it seems (correct me if I am wrong) Stephanie is the front runner in her category and I have heard a lot of buzz surrounding both Brandon and Andrew so potentially if Gavin Creel doesn't win, it could well be one of the two for that award as well! My impression from what I've heard is that Rachel Bay Jones is the front-runner in the Featured Actress category, although I think Stephanie's probably second in line.

Thrilled for the Falsettos noms - mainly in the Featured categories, I didn't mind if Borle got in or not but had really been hoping Rannells, Uranowitz and Block all did!

Corey Cott's role is pretty lame and tame. I'm not sure what makes it a standout or Tony-worthy. What happened to Christian Borle in Falsettos or Josh Groban? I absolutely love Groban but I don't think Pierre is a Tony-worthy role the way he's written in Comet. If it were actual War and Peace it would be quite another thing (Paul Dano was incredible in the BBC version) but in Comet, Pierre is just a grumpy drunk sod in a fat suit sulking around on the sidelines. As for Falsettos, I thought Rannells had the edge but Whizzer is probably considered Supporting? I somehow found Borle miscast. Pierre had a much bigger part in Great Comet than I was actually expecting, having read so many comments online saying how non-lead the part is. To me it did clearly feel like a lead part with the first half focused more on Natasha and the second half on Pierre, but yes not necessarily a Tony-worthy one. He still might get a nomination though. I loved Falsettos but I agree, for me Borle wasn't as perfect a casting nor as worthy of a nomination as the rest of the cast (I'd love to see any of Rannells, Uranowitz and Block nominated). Though if he is going to be nominated I'd rather it be for Marvin than Wonka if only based on overall quality of show alone... It is tough to come up with alternatives to fill the slots when the real race is clearly between two - I will be relatively surprised if Karl beats out Platt (though loved them both) but absolutely shocked if anyone else somehow takes it!

Immigration at LAX is now automated, so if you have a valid ESTA you don't even speak to a person unless you have a problem. Just scan your passport, answer a few yes/no questions on a screen and it spits out a receipt, which you hand in on the way out the door. It was the same for me at JFK when I went in January.

Aw man, I sure wish he'd do something in London! Love him.
(And I sure wish that Hedwig was genuinely prepping to come to London... whether or not these events were one and the same)

To people who have won the TodayTix lottery, was it for one or two tickets? Just curious as I've been entering frequently for one ticket but not won (any show) whether two seems to have an advantage.

The "how" of an event is often SO MUCH MORE of a spoiler than the "what". Completely agreed, I was just joking about that line anyway if that was unclear It seemed to me though that the OP was upset about finding out the "what" not the "how", but perhaps I am wrong on that - if it was something more like what you've described under the cut then it is definitely understandable to be upset, but if it's a passing remark that a character died then I hope that this should not ruin the experience of the show.

Hamilton tells you the plot & who does what to him in the opening number!! I don't think they were trying to keep the characters fates as a surprise to the audience as opposed to something like the end of West Side Story, where.....I'll stop there, I think! ;-) In fairness to mrcurry , he said he was spoiled as to what happened to *one of* the characters, not *the main* character. Not *everyone's* fate is explicitly spelt out in the opening number. Actually... there's also "Me, I died for him" in that number so in terms of explicit deaths in the show it technically is covered!

It sounds like you were unfortunate, but if you knowing plot details beforehand bothers you personally this much then I am confused as to why you were running the risk of browsing the actors' twitter feeds. It makes sense that those involved might discuss their work, and particularly given that it is based on real history that this sort of information would not necessarily be treated like a secret. While of course it will be somewhat less in the UK than in the US, the assumption would be going in that a lot of the audience knows the basic story, and the element of surprise on that front is not necessary to enjoy Hamilton - it's not really a set up as a "twist".
I also enjoy knowing as little as possible going in to new shows if I can (In the Heights is also a good example for me of a show it was great knowing nothing about, also Dear Evan Hansen), but it doesn't ruin it for me to know the plot beforehand either as there are generally plenty of other aspects worth enjoying. After all, shows based on well known films continue to be popular.

Finally got through at 12:32. After the waiting period, they offered me a different date to the one I selected, but as it was OK for me I accepted it.

omg!! where?? you're so lucky!! I would love to see him one day... he's such a great singer. And yeah! I'm also thinking about getting more tickets for june or so, but I have to wait some weeks to do so, I hope they don't sold out that fast. He came to watch Cynthia Erivo's concert in Shoreditch last night and she got him up onstage to sing Dear Theodosia with her! It was amazing, and so unexpected! I spotted him sitting a couple of rows in front of me but hadn't thought he'd be singing! Aw man, I really wish I'd gone now! Wish he'd do a concert here sometime. I actually spotted him in the audience when I saw Falsettos in New York but unsurprisingly he didn't jump up into the performance that time

This cast looks brilliant but I was rather hoping we'd get at least one of the original Broadway cast transferring over to open the show. Still got my fingers crossed for Lin Manuel! I'd been hoping for that too, but actually I'm really excited by all this casting news. I remember really enjoying Jason Pennycooke in Memphis and everyone else looks great! I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed for Jonathan Groff too (especially as he was the only original cast member I didn't see), but it would be counter-intuitive if the one American that transferred was to play the actual Brit so my hopes aren't high there Will be excited to see who they cast though, and for Hamilton!

I was at Wicked last night in the dress circle and I noticed there seemed to be very inconsistent sound (particularly for the ensemble, the balance seemed to fluctuate a lot). Is this how it usually is? There was also a lot of blatant photography going on in the audience which was very distracting. The main culprit did get his camera confiscated during the interval but this was after audibly snapping the way through Defying Gravity.
Great show though, I'd never seen Rachel Tucker before but after reading parts of this thread I was keen to catch her and she was absolutely fantastic! It was very fun to revisit Wicked as I think it has been many years since I last saw it live.
