Do we think it’s too late to join DMT+? I have just joined and received an email saying "Your yearly membership begins here and all of your DMT+ benefits are now available.", so I'm guessing it worked. Hopefully this will appear in the member's area tomorrow even if they don't send out an email in the morning.

I saw her as Cosette and it was the only time I was interested in that character at all. She gave a brilliant performance, which made me go look at the program and memorise the name. That's how I recognised her name when she was announced for Spring Awakening - in which she also did a terrific job. I am very happy with this casting.

Anyone else been trying for front row Wicked tickets this morning ? I was there at exactly 10am and have reached the front of the queue five times but then get an "article not available" message followed by queue number rejected. Giving up for now. Frustrating. I entered just before 10am, then it was my turn almost instantly, but still the website made me wait for a couple of minutes. Eventually it all worked out and I managed to book the tickets - at around 10:04 I believe.

I wonder if they acknowledge in the script that Cliff is a black man? Feels a mistake if they don’t as it would take away some of the gut wrenching realism of parts of the story. I don't think they explicitly changed anything in the script to acknowledge that, at least I didn't notice. But that added some extra layers to the story which made the show more fresh, at least for me. Cliff is very well received as an American tourist in Berlin for most of the show, and you can't help but think how that would be totally different in not a long time after that. Wait, now I am not sure anymore. I have a line in my mind "black and gay, I couldn't possibly be both" or something like that. But I can't remember if I heard that in Cabaret or somewhere else.

Just had a further e mail from ATG with another reminder about the tests so no one can say they haven't been warned. But this e mail also says: Upon arrival, you will be encouraged to cover up the cameras on your phone. This is an experience for your eyes only. Keep it in the Kit Kat Club. I'll bring some gaffer tape then! Last night we were given stickers at the door for that purpose.

Managed to grab a £25 ticket at 18:50 and was very happy with my seat in the second row of the upper circle. They did a fantastic job at changing that area to improve the views. The person in the row in front of you could be leaning forwards and you would still have a complete view of the stage if you’re sitting straight - if that makes sense. Not a lot of legroom, though. They certainly didn’t enforce mask wearing - most people were not wearing a mask, including the lady next to me who wouldn’t stop coughing. Somebody behind me in the queue didn’t seem to have a covid test and was sent to the box office, I believe. I also saw quite a few people showing the actual device of their test as proof.
Regarding the production, it’s really better if you go in not knowing much. Some moments were truly beautiful, and some performances are better than others. It’s one of those rare occasions where I preferred the second act - I found the musical numbers more creative and captivating there. The Cabaret number really was a standout. I can’t wait to see it again!

Closed off the season with an excellent show tonight. My first experience on the grass bank. A bit of a risk, but it turned out to be dry and with an excellent view. I'm very glad I took a blanket and cushion with me. Lots of room too. You do get a bit dazzled by the light at some points. Another great thing about the grass banks is you're a long way away from the chatters in the audience. The people around me were very good. A group of Italians in front, who had managed to take in a flask of (I presume) coffee, but sat enthralled, especially the cute male couple who went from cuddling to rigidity during the second half when they realised where the show was going. The worst part of the noise was people outside the auditorium talking just by the grass bank, which I presume was completely unaware hospitality staff. Otherwise, the sound is great and you're right by the speakers. Lots of clapping and cheering, but at polite levels, plus a full house standing ovation at the end. The band all came on to bow, which was a nice touch. Some of the ensemble were crying, but there were no speeches and it was business as usual as everyone was quickly ushered out. Oh, and I used the cubicle immediately after an Irish west end star, but all I will report is he left it tidy! I'm sure there were plenty of actors in, but he was the only one I spotted. This production did really grow on me, especially after they simplified and improved the ending. There are quite a few subtle places where they've found new meaning. It is still hurt by some of the cuts. But I do hope this version of the music can be used again, even if the production itself doesn't get to live on. I’m glad I attended the last show. The audience seemed very happy to be there, and the cast gave a great performance. I didn’t mind the changes too much, but this is definitely not a definitive version of the show. I felt similarly to when I saw Jamie Lloyd’s Evita - I really like this version and I’m happy it exists, but I still wanna see productions of the original again. Couple of things: (1) The flask didn’t have coffee - it was peach tea! (2) What you probably heard us chatting in during the interval was not Italian, it was Portuguese. And (3) thanks for the “cute couple”. 😁

In one of the small breaks between the performances, they screened a teaser for a new production to be announced in October (or November, I can’t remember). It was a black and white video of a woman in the backstage of a show, I think. I wasn’t paying it too much attention, but then Ruthie said the only hint she could give that that it was a Sondheim show which hasn’t been produced in a long while! Obviously that got me excited and curious. Could it be that the gods heard my prayers and A Little Night Music is coming back? Was this the clip they played? I have to say, Ruthie as Desiree would be inspired casting. She’d be glorious. Yes, that’s the one! Thank you for sharing. And looking back at the video, it’s giving me more Passion vibes.

When this show is open what have been the covid checks. Looking up for tickets and London theatre was saying you need to show negative test results done within 24 hours even if you have your double vaccine proof. The LW web site says to do the test but is not stating you need to bring the result along. Was looking to see this along side anything goes, a show and theatre you can just walk into with no letters, apps or medical tests! When I went on Sunday, they were asking for either proof of vaccination or of a recent test. However, somebody behind me didn’t have either, and the usher said it was alright. He said “We just have to ask”.

In case anybody is interested, they seem to be doing 10-pound standing tickets for this. I got one yesterday and had a very good view of the play. They seem to release them on the day, but it is a bit tricky to find them as the performance appears to be sold out at first glance. I had to click on another performance which was not sold out and then change the dates to access the tickets.

Yesterday, there was no Bobbie inside the apartment at the end of Act 1. Real Bobbie pulls the set as she usually does but only to reveal her friends staring at an empty chair. Is it really that hard to plonk a black haired wig on someone? Could use the red jacket to cover up their arms, if it's skin colour they're worried about! I was also very confused. To be honest, although I prefer the original staging I liked this scene this way as well. What I can't forgive, though, is completely removing Tik Tok. I love that scene, and I can't find a good reason for them to have cut it. The fact that the first understudy of the lead is on should not be something so extreme that a whole sequence (and a very memorable one, in my opinion) has to be cut off. Also, the scene where PJ asks Bobbie "how many blacks" she knows got a lot of laughs. Oh, and Jennifer was wearing a wrist watch, which was a bit distracting as it was often reflecting the light projected on stage. I am pretty sure Rosalie did not wear a watch the other times I saw the show. Does anybody know if she has been wearing one lately?

Is Tick Tock being removed when Jennifer is on due to a wig issue? As I recall, all the Bobbies all wear red wigs? I'm sure at least one of the Bobbies on a normal night is black so I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with Jennifer's race This is exactly what I would've put it down to. Jennifer is in that sequence with the pushchair. If they don't have wigs they really ought to order 2, shame to lose such a good sequence due to something so small! They must already have one for the scene where Bobbie sees everyone in her apartment, end of Act 1 if I'm not mistaken? Yesterday, there was no Bobbie inside the apartment at the end of Act 1. Real Bobbie pulls the set as she usually does but only to reveal her friends staring at an empty chair.

What kind of ID is being used by most people? Does driving licence hack it ok? I witnessed student cards being accepted without complaints, so I guess a driving licence will do.

Well, that was a fantastic night. I really wasn’t expecting the show to run as smooth as it did, given it was the first preview.
The cast are ready, and it was delightful to see what each one of them did with their characters. Rachel John’s voice is my favourite from the pack (people mentioned on this board that she sounded sick, I wonder how she sounds normally then), Rachelle Ann Go delivers a slightly more intense Burn than Phillipa Soo’s. Jamael Westman was such a pleasant surprise as Hamilton, such confident performance! Giles Terera has a very different Burr from Leslie Odom Junior, a tad more joyful and less villainesque, I felt. I was resistant at first but ended up loving his Burr, and what a voice! The rest of the cast does not fall behind - Christine Allado‘s Say No To This was striking, Cleve September makes everybody laugh and cry as Phillip, and King George really does not fail to provide comical pauses across the show.
The theatre looks beautiful inside, although the smell of fresh paint prevails in the corridors. I’m really looking forward to going again in January and see this cast when they are even more at ease with their characters. Such a good show and such a great performance.

yup, tics sorted for John and Macbeth. Absolute Hell has run out of cheap tics, so may wait for the next booking period for that one Absolute Hell showed no cheap tickets for me, but then I clicked on a few random dates and was able to buy a couple of 15 pound tickets in the stalls.

Was meant to see Venus in Fur this afternoon, but just won the lottery for this, front row so couldn't turn it down! And managed to sell the Venus in Fur ticket too so no complaints here! Could it have been you who sat next to me and gently warned us there would be an actor standing in front of us in one scene?

They announced the closing of War Paint today. Maybe that is why we were not getting any news from Company, maybe they were waiting until they could announce Lupone.
This is the best news I received this month.

I was so emotionally invested in the show that I forgot to buy a program during the interval. I regret that deeply now, as I really wanted to have the list of the songs that were played. I am assuming here that the program has that list. Would anybody who bought the program or has access to the list of songs be an incredibly kind soul and share it? I downloaded this from somewhere imgur.com/a/49fzdDon't remember where I got it from originally. Might have been someone here... Thank you so much!

Seat was F5, great view. The shower is on stage left, so people sitting on that side of the audience and close to the stage (as I was) would possibly get a better view. However, he takes his clothes off on more than one occasion, so I think everybody gets a chance to see whatever they want. Is the stage really high? I could only book front row to sit in stalls. The stage is not particularly high, and it is very raked. You will have a great view, and if you are sitting close to where the ice is kept, Sienna Miller might come disturbingly close to you while putting liquor away during a particular scene.
