{Spoiler - click to view} I'm really surprised/upset that Euan Morton didn't feature at all I thought too. He was perfect in the role when I saw him

We saw him in the interval and realised who it was. Am wondering if wearing a motorcycle helmet to the theatre would usually get you a mention in the ‘bad behaviour at a show’ thread? But otherwise…ICONIC (and I hope I’m wearing a floor length Pucci print gown when I’m 71.) We also spotted Rusty Egan. Who else was in? I feel very conflicted that Marilyn wasn’t there (assumption based on Marilyn’s insta/behaviour.) I am pretty sure there were other notable people in the audience although I didn't recognise anyone. But you know when you see someone and think "I am sure you are someone!" there were a few like that. Boy George sat in the stalls for Act 1 dressed in a gold sparkly jacket and a very tall sparkly black hat. Another culprit for the "bad behaviour" thread under different circumstances. It was quite funny when people were asking Philip for selfies as the organisers were trying to get everyone back into their seats for Act 2 to start but he was causing a blockage with everyone crowding around. A man asked for a selfie with his friend/partner and Philip told the one taking the photo the best angle to take the picture. He then asked to see the picture and get the guy to zoom in on his face, wasnt happy with the result so made him take the picture again. Brilliant! that wasn’t boy George, that was Boy George experience - the impersonator

Like I think everyone on here felt …. last night did feel special … and amazed how good all performances were esp with the limited rehearsal time . I had hoped for a few more surprise but hey ho {Spoiler - click to view} Paul baker …. Was fab again couldn’t believe 20 years had passed and lovely to see Drew back as Steve strange . Gail hadn’t changed either all wonderful . John partridge surprised me l had seen him years back but last night the whole show immediately lifted when he exploded on stage . I did wonder who would play Josie.? Thought Sally Ann was great
I was hoping for a video montage of all the past cast would have been lovely to see ? Shame it wasn’t added and I too missed Matt Lucas I missed him originally but loved him on the soundtrack…. Hope it wasn’t clashes or falling out that kept him out … as surely for charity people could put differences aside …
Had some youngsters next to me ….. well about 23 so young compared to me 😊and wouldn’t have seen the show originally… maybe YouTube etc now …. They had difficulty following the story but appeared to enjoy the songs and in circle they and from what I could see rest of circle refrained from photos and filming until finale which was lovely to see …. As we were all in the moment like it should be .
I do think the songs have certainly stood the test of time and was wonderful to hear them with such a full sound the added voices worked so well …. I really do think 🤔 like was said all those years ago and again last night Taboo was way ahead of its time And I think 🤔 now would be the right time for a revival would love a blend of both versions or at least some broadway songs added.
Not sure what’s gone on with Marilyn but seemed the butt of the. Joke last night more than originally ? In the show
I’m sure I saw Arlene Philips outside the theatre 🎭 and not sure if he went last night but had dinner not far away last night and Samuel L Jackson was on table next to me !! Anyone who goes tonight will have a fab time and at the reduced rate getting a real bargain

Apologies for the excessive exclamation marks.

Gutted to have missed this last night. Looking at the playlist I'm assuming it was faithful to the first production and that version of songs?

Wonder if there was anyone different in it last night from Sunday. Sunday was fantastic though. We were sat near the front on Row E of the stalls a few rows in front of Phillip Salon, though hadn't realised it was him until he stood up after being introduced. The score really stands up and here's hoping for a new production.

Can any Taboo experts on the board do a quick summary of the differences between the London and Broadway productions? I know the latter was reshaped to be more about Boy George but that's about all

I wasn't aware of any celebrities in the audience last night - certainly nobody pointing, requesting selfies or autographs which is usually the sign. It was a near sellout which given the short notice of a second night was a big achievement by Adam and his team. Great concert especially once Boy George took the stage at the beginning of act two...

So cross that I didn’t know that SAT was in this. My friend is a massive George fan and was in the seventh row of the stalls snapping away at all and sundry. She was in heaven, and I might have gone with her for Ms Triplett.

Some thoughts from Marilyn... it does feel a little shady that he wasn't even informed it was happening, let alone invited, considering how big a part of the story is and how much the micky is taken out of him!

To be honest I didn't even know that Marilyn was still alive.

This was my first time seeing the show. Took my brother who is a big fan of George, and a bit of an oracle on the whole period.
I’d love to hear the thoughts of people who have seen the show multiple times. I think there’s a good show in there, but right now it’s a bit all over the place. I did wonder if the renovated Playhouse could be an interesting venue to stage an immersive, rejigged show. That would assume that Taboo becomes much more about Leigh, George and the club and the scene, and that we lose most of the Josie and Kim storylines. Attitudes have changed so much in the past 20 years, those stories felt shoehorned in to me, there to give the show broader appeal. I’d love to see a much tighter focus on the scene.
On thing that confused me was the whole ‘Spartacus’ thing. I’m assuming it’s because Billy is an invented character, but it seemed odd to not have Trojan in the show, and then use the term Spartacus. It just seemed like really poor writing choices. Although, I guess Taboo was never famed for having a strong book.

So do we think two sold out charity nights has generated enough interest to get this on tour as George suggested in his speech?

It's always going to have a following with musical theatre fans, Boy George fans and those who loved the 80s. Not sure about a tour. Maybe a limited run somewhere like the Menier.

It might get a bit of traction if they renamed it ‘Taboo-The Boy George & Culture Club’ musical.

The show is so much more than a Boy George show.
The emotional core lies with Kim, Josie, Sue and Philip. Yes George gets Stranger in this World but that doesn't land with the same punch as Il Adore or Petrified.
Leigh is arguably a more prominent character than George - certainly more interesting.
I much prefer the UK versions of the piece rather than the Broadway reworking and would want to preserve as much of the original as possible.
I think it is a show you can enjoy without knowing that it is based on real people. The score is good enough to take you on the journey

I know the latter was reshaped to be more about Boy George but that's about all As far as I can remember the Broadway version doesn’t feature Billy at all? It is all about George. Or if Billy did feature it wasn’t as the main character at all. Also there’s no Kim. To be honest I think this show would do better now than it did 10 and 20 years ago. As George said on Sunday it really was ahead of its time. It would work perfectly in somewhere like The Other Palace.

Nice idea but they'd probably behave like the two women sat in front of me on Sunday who talked through most of it and started dancing in their seats every time a Culture Club song was sung
