I mean it's hard to find time for anything other than Wicked when you go three times a week plus anytime the third cover goat or fifth cover midwife is on. Move over 5th cover midwife I'm team 3rd cover goat

I wonder if a lot of them are maybe just Wicked fans and not general theatre fans? It is a show that seems to attract people who love theatre or who aren't bothered with it. It's still not acceptable to behave as they do but it might explain why they don't know basic theatre etiquette and how not to p*ss off the rest of the audience, especially if they usually just go to pop gigs. But obviously I don't know any of these people, maybe they're all big theatre fans anyway. They can't be theatre fans because anyone who cares about theatre in the slightest would know that what they did is clearly not acceptable behaviour at any theatre show. And even if they're not theatre fans, they clearly go to Wicked often enough to see how others behave in a theatre, and the vast majority of every audience will sit quietly, watch the show, and applaud where appropriate, nothing more. To be honest if they spend all their time dayseating, then there's nobody ever in front of them to reference normal behaviour from

Yes in fairness apart from extended applause that the whole house did, the super fans in the front row were quite well behaved!
I was prepared to move down and shush them if needed!

How disgustingly disrespectful. It saddens me to see so many people who have no understanding of what it means to purchase a theatre ticket - and I don't just mean the Wicked crazies, but anyone who causes undue disruption. It stems from the same mentality that means people think it's ok to check your phone, loudly rustle hundreds of sweet packets, or throw popcorn everywhere. You're not sat on the sofa at home, you're in a communal area where your actions affect the experience of those around you. Other audience members buy tickets to watch the people on stage, not to watch you cause a scene in the stalls.
Rant over.
I'm very glad to hear reports of how strong the show was tonight, particularly Suzie since she's been off so much this week. I look forward to hearing from those who are going on Monday!

I look forward to hearing what the crazies have up their sleeves for Monday! I had an idea to wear T-shirts that when you're sat in the right order spell out "WE LOVE ALICE FEARN", and then in For Good we can shine torches on them (or better still, glow sticks) so Alice can see what amazing fans we all are. I'm wearing the W, any of you want to be one of the other 15?

Perhaps some confetti cannons for when she first defys gravity as lead

Perhaps some pyro flares like when the car comes out in Grease?

Back from tonight, my first cast change and so pleased I went! Willemijn was something else! Total class tonight! Tasteful riffs, nothing OTT but left with a bang! Speeches at the end were almost making me cry! Could tell it meant a lot to them all! Bad that Micheal McCabe forgot to mention Jessamy Stoddart was leaving! 🙈 For the ushers to respond so quickly suggests they were aware it was planned They were aware! The lady serving at the bar in the interval asked the girls infront if they were 'going to be using glow sticks as they had reports people had them' shameful! A person in my row had one and they were seated at the end of the row and it was all I could see from corner of my eye! The crazies at stage door had 'For Good' print outs, guessing so they knew when to use them! CRAZY!! 😡 On a side note, does anyone know what time Willemijn left Stage Door? Waited around 30 mins after the show and no sign, so went to Wetherspoons next door for a drink, left around 00:15 and still a large crowd waiting! 🤔

Not to justify their actions, but the people with glowsticks were almost surely Willemijn fans. They also had glow sticks out during For Good at her last show in Germany and closing night in the Netherlands. I'm not surprised they did it again since this is probably her 'last' last show. That being said, I personally really liked the thought of it. Kind of a little homage to the past ten years. But they should have listened to FOH when they said to use it only at curtains and not during the show.

Was it the front row doing this or other people, anyone know?
I wonder if they came straight out of theatre and straight back into a line to camp for Monday. After the first note they will proclaim the new cast the best ever and the old cast will be forgotten. Wicked have always had annoying fans but, and I expect good old social media is to blame, the current lot really are in a league of their own. Sophie is a really active Tweeter at the moment, but I'm sure that even she will get sick of being bombarded after too long.

If I was there and front stalls, I'd be annoyed if such an emotional moment was ruined by users running around everywhere confiscating glow sticks.
Very distracting for the performers too.

Apart from the glow sticks I thought generally they were well behaved That sounds a bit like "Apart from the murders they were a lovely couple". I think it's about time the theatre kept a list of banned fans. Unfortunately, unless large numbers of people in the audience demand their money back there's no incentive to keep the attention-seeking fans under control.

Also just seen the exchange between the original tweeter and someone else below. Person: Is that allowed? Tweeter: Who cares Maybe the 2,000 other people in the audience? Disgusting. I wonder if they realise that the cast despise them too? Dreadful, rude, thick, arrogant and entitled. If you're reading this, everyone hates you except your stupid mates.

...and such a shame that these are the audience members that the cast have to be closest to before, during and after the show. Can you imagine how the parent of a child that wanted to get an autograph or a picture would respond to seeing behaviour like this?
'Not tonight darling, I think they must be very busy, maybe if we came again'

For those who witness this sort of stuff first-hand, how old is this group of fans? Roughly?

I had a dream last night in which Sue Kelvin was trying to force feed me a glow stick. Alice Fearn was sat there manically laughing and she declared how different things were going to be now she's in charge. I wonder if it means anything

I wonder if it means anything It means ditch the late night cheese on toast and sub it for a nice cup of Horlicks.

Yeah early 20's for the glow sticks from those around me who were cracking them, but also older people too.
The frontrow brigade and then subsequently stage door massive are 18+ so should definitely know better!
