The prices keep going up and up, no wonder.

That's extremely empty for a cast change! Yep, I must admit that I'm quite shocked to see how many seats are still available. If someone wants to see a particular performance so badly, buy a bloody ticket, there's plenty of good cheap seats in advance. I'm in the front stalls for £30 something, and I'll be going to the show after a good night's sleep and a warm shower. This. I booked my two front&side Stalls seats for £44 each. Yes, thats a bit more expensive than dayseats and the view is a bit worse, but I value my time much more. Also, I'm only flying over that day.

Also is it just me or do people start queuing earlier and earlier every cast change? It's as if each new batch of crazy fans want to out-crazy the previous batch of crazy fans...

I have a £44 seat for Monday night. The more I think about this the more it's about attention and actually puts me off the show - no need for the craziness!

Call me sceptical, but I swear most of these people are just queuing for attention. They want their best friends in the cast so see how passionate and supportive they are because they're willing to queue for 48 hours on a dingy street If someone wants to see a particular performance so badly, buy a bloody ticket, there's plenty of good cheap seats in advance. I'm in the front stalls for £30 something, and I'll be going to the show after a good night's sleep and a warm shower. [/rant] if they had a friend in the cast they would not need to day seat this early to impress anyone

It started a week beforehand and they plagued the poor lady going in and out of work every single evening, ran into the show in an evening and ran out afterwards to stage door and then get back into the queue.

I mean I love Rachel to bits but I'd never camp out for a WEEK to get a front row dayseat, I'd just go online and book a c*cking ticket 🙄

Am I remembering correctly a couple of years ago when one of the cast members bought the campers some food because they felt sorry for them being sat outside...I bet they got all giddy with that level of attention!

There's one obvious advantage of squatting on the street for 2 days...they get to listen to tonight and tomorrow's shows through the doors, free of charge

A picture of the Apollo Victoria exterior with the caption "We advise against extreme dayseating (camping) outside of the Apollo Victoria Theatre in hopes of retrieving tickets to the highly-anticipated 22 July performance. The safety of patrons is of utmost importance and should be taken into account when determining one's course of action. Should one choose to dayseat, ensure the prescence of familiar individuals to minimize the risk of crime" was posted on a musicals discussion/fan group on facebook. No idea what the source is, perhaps the theatre's twitter account?

Someone did have a phone stolen whist asleep on the steps of the apollo victoria. I think it may have been at Willemijns last last time round. Its not the safest area in the early hours. I certainly wouldnt wait there for an amount of time that would involve sleeping.

That area is so dodgy when dark, no way in hell I'd sleep there.
Wonder what's up with Suzie, shame she would have missed the Ozcars

True. Savanna was ill in her last week too and just about managed to do the last show, despite still being ill. The curse of the Glindas.

I've had a look around Twitter and in a world where fans crave attention on social media there's no confirmation people are camping - maybe a rumor?
Also the '7 seats left' seems totally false! I feel this is just people trying to put others off dayseating so certain people (friends) will still have a chance of getting a ticket if they arrive later! Several Twitter posts have mentioned if there's only 7 seats left they won't bother now ... seems to be working! 🤔

The aforementioned tweet: Just need to edit it to say "this Saturday's highly anticipated performances which are hardly half full" ...

Just need to edit it to say "this Saturday's highly anticipated performances which are hardly half full" ... Hardly surprising at those jacked up prices. I get why they'd do it, but surely most people who'd be booking at this point aren't superfans and don't care it's someone's last show? They're just going to take one look and say "blimey, forget it, lets go see the Motown thing" or whatever. It's not like it's a cheap show at the best of times!

Not mentioning someone's name when attacking them does not let you off the hook. Be nice.

Oh dear...I have dayseated for Willemijn last last show since 4.30 AM and it was exhausting enough physically and emotionally. And the only reason for that was there were not many good seats left by the time I have decided to go. Never ever again. How can someone camp for few days and still get the energy to stay awake for both shows.

Is the term "extreme dayseating" an actual thing?

I have my ticket....and I will be arriving at 7.20 and leaving as soon as the curtain comes down. Being front row or meeting Willemijn will not add anything to my experience. Fair play to them though, if they want to waste 3 days of their life, that's their choice. Weather is supposed to be nice too!! Sort of jealous they get to spend the day outside in the sun rather than at work....
