Definitely my worst online theatre booking (or attempted booking) experience ever: over 2 hours in the queue; website hanging ominously when it claimed to be redirecting me, then multiple attempts to book for Nina failed, as I kept getting an error message saying I had taken over 30 minutes. Round and round in the same inescapable loop, yet when I tested the system by purporting to want to book for something else, it worked fine. So galling to be accused of taking more than 30 mins when it was the YV site which kept me waiting for over 4 times as long AND I went straight to the checkout page as soon as I'd (supposedly) selected my tix. When I've recovered enough mental energy I will complain to them, but it won't help me get tix. I think it gives you the "30mins" message when there are no seats left....it's just a sort of completely incorrect message that allows them to bail. I also find it incomprehensible that their email confirmation includes no date or time that you have booked for!!!! Please do add it to the list of complaints! Sorry you didn't get tickets....more may pop up later?

Not a good day to get locked out of work when in queue and computer inside building. Oh no! Managed to get 2 tickets to musical that I wanted and looked at Yerma but all the £10 tickets gone....tried to text you but phone signal down here! It's a conspiracy! Did you want to be my +1 on 9th Dec for musical thingy? Matinee (although ticket confirmation unhelpfully says neither date or time!!!!)

I hate it when they open booking before they say they will Almost makes me not want to give them the satisfaction of booking......almost...almost....

Though for all intents and purposes, there are twice as many performances of Hamilton per week as there are of Potter. Is that the saying?! Please tell me I'm not the only person who's been saying "for all intensive purposes" their entire life? *facepalm* I too am guilty of "intensive purposes" .....oh dear! Lol! Still, at least I know Lol means "laugh out loud"....my mum and dad thought it meant "lots of love" ....?

The Number has appeared, strange though i clicked on my computer for nimax first and then on my phone yet phone positioned me at 10568 and computer is 11939??? You get a random queue number from all the people who turn up in the first couple of minutes....they always do it like this...for the Friday Forty as well. Complete luck! Fairest way to do it....

Theatremonkey is right...In my house we do Friday Forty every week on 3 computers and a phone! Once had to call in to motorway services to link up tablet to wifi..It takes a seriously dedicated effort but was rewarded in week between Christmas and New year! ☺

Saw this yesterday on Friday Forty tickets, having previously seen on July 13th last year, and show is in very good shape. We were lucky to have all the main performers (my friend would have been gutted if Jamie Parker was not on!) and woman who plays Delphine (Esther Smith?) has improved enormously....far less pantomime now! If anything Anthony Boyle needs a bit of work on his Scorpius to be as good as last July....he had a habit of rather rushing his lines and became a bit inaudible at times....shame as he was still brilliant, just somehow lost the "innocence" of his performance sometimes....I noticed the same thing when Mark Rylance brought Jerusalem back from America, it must be so hard to keep doing the same thing again and again! Dementors better than I remembered (they sort of make you chuckle with glee when they are so good!), cool dancing with cloaks splendid, struck me again how the script writer knew the characters so well....didn't put a foot wrong in how they behaved! And Jamie was great...made me cry again at the end! This play is not the best ever but I have spent all today slightly wizarded out and badly want a cloak to swirl and some Wizard music to dance to, so job done!

Can someone tell me what was drawn on at the end? I was far back and couldn't make it out. Thanks. {Spoiler - click to view} A little stick man skiing down a slope!

We did have a forum meet up years ago...I met Matthew and Peggs and John from The Reviews Hub (then The Public Reviews!) and it was great...we basically picked a performance of a show at The National (Mrs Affleck....not a great success) and just arranged to meet in a pub beforehand. Nice and low key and not too stressy as you have a show to go to! I ended up reviewing for years for John and Peggs is now a best friend (the best ones always like theatre!) So....we could have a few....just name a cheap production and a pub to meet up at before and everyone buys their own ticket (or just comes to the pub if they don't fancy it!) and we could do evening meet up midweek....and matinee at weekend for those travelling from further. Hard cheese if you can't make it, no moaning...perhaps can make the next date!

Has anyone else just received their tickets? They said they weren't going out until 4 weeks before, but mine arrived at the weekend. Surprised, but pleased. Yes, mine just arrived! It's like they knew it was Christmas or something!

Len could be very nasty at times....I am quite glad he has gone....we all went a bit gooey eyed at his actual leaving but he was grumpy and spiteful sometimes. Bruno also sometimes oversteps the mark and ends up mocking people in a distinctly mean way. Craig I like, he is just honest but not really malicious and always makes comment on what they should improve on. Darcy is ok....but she has taken to looking horrified at everything Criag says...stop it please. Karen Hardy.....hmmmm.....I'll give her a chance but I'm with the bring back Arlene Phillips brigade, although I know it will never happen!

Gosh, I'm really impressed not only by how late in the year others are still going to the theatre but also how much some people are packing into the last few hours! Not to mention making an early start to 2017. Even if this were a normal year's end for me, my paltry efforts would be put to shame - must up my game next year... Hope you are fully recovered soon showgirl! I am done for the year (family responsibilities etc etc) but always reward myself with a nice day out in London after the festivities in early January! I pat myself on the back at having provided a splendid Christmas to all concerned and go solo to something...having coffee/snacks of my choice and enjoying the sense of freedom! This year it is a cheeky little Friday matinee of All the Angels at Wanamaker theatre on Jan 6th, after hearing good reports on here...not my usual sort of thing but candles and music sound enchanting! Have a good Christmas and get back to theatre soon!

No Purple Trousers Tonight!! They were black. Should I demand a refund from the box office? ;-) Haha...no his PANTS were purple...you could see his underpants at the back when his trousers slipped down a bit...just a sliver of colour!

Loved this last night. I'd forgotten how funny this was. Off to check how long ago the last version I saw was but a bit scared as it's always si much longer than I remember. Enjoyed all three performances but special mention for Rufus's purple pants! Are they purple every night? They were purple on Wednesday! (I love this forum!)

Just wanted to say I was at the Almeida yesterday and got talking to a very polite gentleman and when I mentioned "the forum" he asked what had happened to the Whatsonstage Forum...and I proudly told him how a bunch of clever and valiant warrirors had rescued the sinking ship and set up a splendid forum that was really special. As I was telling him all about it and making sure he had the right website address I realised once again what an amazing feat it actually was and had a happy feeling in my heart! Thank you Admin Team and Moderators and happy Christmas everyone! x

Oh and DO NOT read any newspaper reviews of the play if you are planning to go (and I recommend you do!) ...they mostly give away the whole plot!

Ok, some more thoughts on the play with spoliering so as not to spoil it! I really enjoyed seeing it.... {Spoiler - click to view} Can't help feeling that Ron Cook was completely miscast, although he had a good attempt at the part and his scene where he tells wife that the cows are actually dead was brilliant....but really....the way he smoked a cigarette...sexy? And he'd been so sexy that 2 women (and more) were fighting over him? Sorry Ron, I just don't buy it! I loved the performances of the women and thought they were great at portraying the different characters...slightly alarmed that I may just be one of them...what with the sun tan cream and organising and all that, but what lovely poetry in some of the words..."that woman holds up the world" or something like that... As usual plays make a poor stab at science...just a brief mention about wave power here and no real explanation of why/if the world really had almost come to an end beacuse of one nuclear accident, but decided that really that wasn't what the play was all about - it was about three things in my eyes....the older generation taking responsibility for ruining the world (or at least not making a better attempt at running it well!), what we are to do about people living for ever and wanting everything, and the lack of independance of the next generation and their refusal to grow up and sever the links (perhaps a bi-product of the fact that we are all living so long and we seem to have the power/money so naturally children are reliant on us? Plus we treat them so well and make life so cosy at home why would they want to leave?) Thought it was fascinating and like Chimerica I liked the fact that she wrapped it all up with a "story"...love triangle! Plus does that not have to be one of the best play openings? A woman just standing there with blood dripping from her nose?!!! In the end I was a tad dissapointed that all the "newcomer" wanted was to take our scientists out of retirement...I thought it would be far more exciting than that...but this was a far more slow burn play...and I'll be thinking about it for some time to come...and perhaps trying to want less!

Running time anyone? Going Wednesday and looking at trains home afterwards.... For £10 thoroughly looking forward to this! 90 mins no interval. Out at 9. We got out a bit late last night (not by much) due to the restarts. Sometimes I like short things like this because I get an earlier night. Thanks Mr W....sounds like heaven to me as I travel back to Oxford afterwards!
