It’s kinda true. Nothing actually happens in the film really. There isn’t much of a story! Still it was fun and I’m glad I saw it.

I’m so glad Lloyd Webber has a hit again after so many dud shows. Do we think he will do another original show? I hope so...

I'd rather we had new shows in the West End rather than shows that have toured already. Why? Totally different market....

Saw this tonight. What a HIT. A mixture of Carrie, Clueless and Serial Mom the audience went WILD. So pleased it’s transferring. 9/10

Why on earth would anyone think that 9 to 5 was worth putting into a West End theatre? It is one of the weakest shows I have ever seen. Other than the title song, I couldn't remember a single other tune from the piece by the time the curtain fell. It isn't quite as bad as the tour of Tonight's The Night. But it is close. Rubbish... I LOVED IT on Broadway!

Doing Mama Mia 2 on the stage would give the show another decade or so. Could work.

Have you all seen these shows or just making wild guesses? Lol.... I know the producers of Anastasia and A they aren’t happy creatively with the show/set/Kleb character and B they have no plans to bring it over!

Starlight germany works like this.
You get paid the same and don’t get paid extra to go on as a role.
Each part is normally covered by 3/4 people. They don’t have an official list but favourites for each role and unoffficial 1st, 2nd, 3rd cover. With injuries and holidays they need it.
The reason why the casting is so difficult is the best performer isn’t always the best skater/and vice versa.
It takes months to learn each role and 1 actor is signed off to play each role after a cover run every 6 weeks.
It’s a logistical nightmare but if often means lots of swapping around and lots of changes - especially when the cast changes over.
Just because someone is a good dancer on skates doesn’t mean they are good at the races - this ultimately all comes down to safety. The Starlighthalle in Bochum isn’t a theatre it’s a huge arena!
I’ve seen actors play three roles in one show, have different actors do the races and ifs often rather dramatic backstage for Steven, Michael, Debbie and Meinolf.
Finally, the best skater and performer doesn’t always have the best phonetic German! Doing starlight in Germany is one of the hardest things you can ever do; training to dance on wheels in the dark, wearing a heavy costume (some are 3 stone), singing in a different language, performing Olympic standard stunt roller skating and being out of breath for 2 hours!

I think this will be a hard sell to the general public. I wonder if it will last as long as The Drowsy Chaperone? At least that had some Tony Awards and Elaine Paige. Not that it helped them.... Zero comparison. Drowsy was fun and camp. Come From Away is about a life changing event that most of us remember. It changed the world and the show is amazing. It will have a niceness 2/3 year run.

The Other Palace should be staging new production of BRITISH musicals like this and not imports like Big Fish or Heathers.
