That's where Choir of Mn is currently playing, right? Yes, and where Six was for a while. It's really not a comfortable theatre, it must be said. And no chance in hell of Jeremy doing a stint there in it!

I'm reviewing this at the Cambridge Arts Theatre on 8th February, I may get an extra ticket but I won't know until nearer the time. Drop me a message if you think you may be able to use it and I'll see if I can get it confirmed 😀

Bagsied a £20 seat in row F of the circle for this tonight (excellent legroom for the tall folk).
Fantastic play, it really captures the feel of the film and the three leads are superb, they're spot-on for the actors they're portraying (especially Ian Shaw). It zips along nicely and raises some really good laughs. I watched the film on Sunday night and I would recommend doing that before seeing it, having it fresh in your mind brings a lot of the play to life.

So Mark made use of my +1 ticket and we caught the matinee today. It's still brilliantly timed and performed, all 5 cast members work so hard and deliver throughout. The bits I remembered being great were still there, and the actors are so comfortable in these roles now that the characterisation in multiple roles is just superb. It did feel it started to dip midway through the second act, like the extra bits have added a bit too much padding to it and it runs out of steam, but it's an undeniably fun tonic of a show and it's so great to see a 'little' show doing so well. And 'Dear Bill' is still heartbreaking.

Anyone who was there tonight, I hope you loved it. Anyone who's there tomorrow, you will love it. Anyone who couldn't make it this time, I'm certain it will come back in some form, they've put too much thought and care and effort into it for just two nights. The audience's reaction was fantastic and there is clearly a big market for it. Whether it would have the same appeal without Jeremy remains to be seen, but word of mouth for the show itself will be strong. Calling it a concert is selling it short, it's not far off a full production, with sets and props and costumes. Everyone is brilliant, particularly Natalie McQueen and Trevor Dion Nicholas, and of course the leads. Frances Mayli McCann is proper leading lady material, and Jeremy lives up to expectations again. No he can't pass for 25 anymore but the voice is sublime. Wildhorn, Black and Menchell were all in the audience, as were Tim Rice and Sam Tutty. Definitely get there early, the queues are mental. I think it started about 7.40 after a speech from a producer, and finished at 10.05. It is coming back- they are filming it for a cinema/streaming release I know, I was there. But I still think there'll be a further production as well.

Glad you enjoyed it, although I spent the evening in the second row of the stalls at DEH and, even without a cast board, I'm pretty sure I was watching Sam Tutty! Oo-er! He must have a darn good lookalike wandering around then! 🤣

Am I the only person here (yes) who thinks Joel Dommett with all his corny jokes and silly links, is NOT annoying but completely adorable! His hyper approach rather suits the silliness of this show - still enjoyable, but lockdown 2021 made it rather more watchable than this series. Nope, not just you, love Joel 😁

More a semi-staged production. The staging was very good... each portion of the set told you exactly where they were and enough dialog was spoken that you knew the context of the song (even if, like me, you weren't familiar with the original). Although I am curious, the 'concert' was 2-1/2 hours with an interval... how long was the 'full' version? I found this version very satisfying and have a hard time imagining more talking would have improved it. I've got a bootleg from Broadway to watch later in the week, I'll report back how long that is!

I'm reviewing this on Tuesday (18th) at the matinee performance, 3pm start. They've allocated me an extra ticket, if anyone wants to come along on a freebie, drop me a message. I won't know where the seats are until I get there but they should be decent.

I saw it with Killian and Lucy in November, they both sounded fine and it certainly didn't deserve the above negativity!

Does everyone have every movable body part crossed for Bonnie & Clyde on Monday/Tuesday? 😬 That's sold out (unlike this concert, which had masses of availability), so unless Mr Jordan is unavailable I'm certain it will go ahead. I guess this is more a case of comping the house or postponing to try and get more tickets sold. Oh fair point, my first thought was 'Covid strikes again' but poor sales does seem the likely culprit.

I can't answer that, but understudy Aimée Fisher was good as the lead. Eveylyn Hoskins, Sandra Marvin and Michael Starke stood out for me, (if indeed it was Michael Starke, as I didn't recognise him from his Brookie Sinbad days). I never caught Waitress in the West End having already seen the Broadway production in 2016, which I rated as three-stars. A half-price Black Friday offer tempted me back, and I am glad I did. While the Northampton Derngate is a terrible venue for acoustics (and a lot of the lyrics were lost), I enjoyed this version more, and, unlike on Broadway, I found it quite moving in places. I am still not overly sold on the "Sugar" motif that pops up periodically, which, in any case, seems to be a steal of Sondheim's "Bobby" from Company. Otherwise, the music is likeable, and the whole shebang, while somewhat predictable and caricatured, is an enjoyable watch. Four stars. Act 1: 19:32-20:45 Act 2: 21:07-22:12 Sorry the sound wasn't great - where were you sitting, I can let them know when I'm in on Thursday and get them to run some sound checks if necessary.

I want to book for this but everything I read says the legroom is horrendous and I'm 6'6".... Currently the best options for my date look like B11 or H17 on the ends of rows, anyone have any experience as to which may be the better choice for the long-legged? It's unclear if B11 has a seat in front of it or not from the plans. Thanks! If you're not fussed on which day you go, the rush tickets through todaytix are often in the front row and you'll have unlimited legroom. Thank you, yeah I knew about that.... unfortunately I'm trying to plan for one specific date so I either prebook to know I'm sorted or chance it on the day and leave it up to the gods... 🤔

I liked it up until the third episode. I lost interest from the fourth, the fifth was just stupid and then I didn't care by the sixth!
