Cynthia gave dan a 9. For goodness sake. Is this fixed or what? Dan just walked thru that rumba, poor by any standard never mind week 10.

This vaccination thing is farcical. She has been on the show for weeks. What has changed? Did she have all her jabs in Germany? If so, why the change now? Absolute idiocy. And indicative of the petty nationalistic crap that is prevalent now

Not one single cough, not one. O joy! Utter hassle of course, crowded tube, covid pass wouldn’t show up on my phone, bag check, blah blah BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT. A brilliant performance. Mannered yes, and I was thinking where is this going but it went exactly where it should, illuminating meaning where possible. I mean nobody understands all of it (do they?) Lighting and sound effects good. In fact I won’t even moan about the price of the ticket anymore. The Row A at the end was good. Maybe they should think about moving the table but he delivered practically all of it right front of stage. He is very good, isn’t he, very good, old Voldemort? As for the poem - actually somewhat revived in this show. Lots of ‘relevant’ stuff - ‘this twittering world ‘ a gift of course. The prayer for those lost at sea, brought tears to my eyes. Humour, dry, but there discovered in lines I had forgotten. So I recommend.

Nothing against Cynthia, never heard of her before the show but she is getting a lot of publicity for her own work here. Lucky maybe she is in the right place at the right time but I felt she did not add anything to the critique last time. “Letting go’’ her only advice?

I think £2.25 a tic service charge for telephone bookings is a bit much when you used to have exactly the same service back in the day. Frankly it is taking the proverbial. It’s £2.25 per ticket online as well which is really too much. Just add it to the ticket price advertised. We’ve discussed this ad nauseam in the past. Why on each ticket? Why not adjust price and give discount if bought in person? Why when the internet is set up so that nobody has to DO anything at all? And so on and so on. There is no justification for this service charge at all. At All.

It's paywalled, but there was an article on it in the Sunday Times and the article's writer posted on Twitter that the anti-semitic issue with the name was flagged up to the director Hamish Pirie but he didn't convey this to the writer. The writer of the article, Kate Maltby, also comments on Twitter that the Royal Court didn't release the information until after her article had gone to press, 'as they knew'. It's bad, especially coming from a venue that is so meticulously careful when it comes to other groups and issues (there was even talk of them confiscating plastic water bottles from audience members a couple of years ago!). In all the years it is the only theatre where phones have gone off again and again with no notice taken by staff. It also had terrible toilets. The food and bar, poor. Yes, the seats are comfy, but the sight lines are poor, you are under a canopy at the back of the stalls. All in all, I can do without and now I know about this production, I do not need to bother to go there.

Yes, went there yesterday. V nice though tbh, it has lost its quirkiness which I liked: the fact that you had to negotiate little stone steps and a turn to the loos and the cafe. Now the cafe is another bland offering in the space where the shop used to be. Oh, and I guess they will lose some business in the shop because I missed it - it is downstairs now and a lot of people don't like enclosed spaces a la covid and also you don’t need to go through it at all or anywhere near it in fact. Mistake. The rooms all nicely cleaned and repainted; the fab art well placed, the barmaid presides over the room as she should. It was very crowded ‘spose cos just opened. Oh and the lift was out of order so had to go up all…those…steps… Needed oxygen at the top. Honestly, lift not working in first week. If you are suggesting a visit could be made after bagging a cheap seat at the Pinter, then yes, possible.

For all performances of Four Quartets from Monday 22 November onwards, 40 tickets located throughout the auditorium costing £10 each will be made available each day for that day’s performance(s). Tickets will be available in person only from the box office and will be released at 4pm for that evening’s performance or 11am on the day for matinees. £10 tickets are strictly limited to a maximum of two per person. So in order to bag a cheapie you have to roam about a miserable patch of the West End in the freezing cold for a few hours. So if you don’t know, these are poems you can read at home or even listen a recording of the poet himself read.

Also booked matinee May. Phew, had to grit my teeth over prices. You know what Lynette, since the pandemic I have been spending more on individual tickets than I normally would. I think the whole Covid thing has made me realise how precious life is and enjoy it to the fullest. So I've been saying to myself "bu**er it" and getting the best seats I can afford. Theatre is one of my few pleasures so I'm going to enjoy it whilst I can. i do agree up a point. But we can’t sustain the every week, sometimes 2x a week we enjoyed before the pandemic. ( 🤪 ) Prices have actually doubled so I am being selective. This show is a family thing so had to book.

I’ve noticed that the booster is now on the NHS app. What on earth do people do if they have no smart devices? Bad enough having to gently guide OH to download the app etc. I’m not a techie ( as we know) so it was a bit of challenge for me but loads of people won’t have any proof of the vaccination unless they apply for letters from the NHS. GPs have it on their records of course so can ask them for proof but this won’t help as it won’t conform to what is required for travel abroad etc. I do think they should have given out recognised cards on vaccination, the little ones not acceptable apparently. Oh well, onward and upward, eh? Just keep well guys. All the rest is dressing…

But cc is always wafting about these days. They don't choose a regular dance for cc. So would not affect how many core dances they do. Would it? Imo all of them should do waltz, foxtrot and quickstep and one Latin American which look all the same to me. She ducks behind the sofa.

“Think extraordinarily detailed 360 sets that you can touch and feel and smell. If the smells are authentic to the period then that would certainly put me off. I still remember the olefactory horrors of the Jorvik Centre when I visited that 25+ years ago! I loved that place. Went round three times in a row with kids….a nice sit down and rest.

It always amazes me at how meek and mild the British public are until they get a drink inside them, then they just think they can act however they want and those around them are at their mercy. Hence the tot of rum given to the Navy in times gone by 😁

They should drop CC and add Street and Contemporary as distinct categories. That way you get rid of the emotional manipulation and can judge purely on technique and performance. Good idea.

I think some of it could be people waiting for the convenience of getting the booster at their GP. I know locally that you need to travel outside of the immediate area if you book using the website whereas the local GP is more convenient but less frequent. All my jabs nowhere near the GP cos coordinated together in a group from lots of practices. V efficient service, appts etc but had to drive further than to GP. Maybe this kind of thing is putting off people, dunno.

The trailer gives us nothing. But looks like it isn’t gonna be a subtle discussion of the reasons behind the plot and the context of post Reformation prejudice, eh?

Me again. I apologise. Just want to ask you guys who have been to this ( anybody) in London that is, how the checking is done for the covid stuff. They are asking for proof of vaccination etc. One of us has covid pass on phone, t’other doesn’t, but has letter from NHS. And it isn’t actually clear if the vaccination status is 2 or 3 jabs. Some people would only have had one cos of their age. So v unclear. Does it mean hanging about while they gawp at the phone and documents or like other places do they just wave you in? Any advice welcome. TA

The Cynthia person has a big spread in Harpers Bazaar this month so maybe she is having a media push at the moment and appearing on Strictly part of that. The “Cynthia person”. I think you may be on the wrong forum. Sorry about that. Regs on here know I’m bad at names
