I know - if it was available on iplayer (in advance rather than week by week) I would have binged it to the end by now.

Yes I'm really enjoying it as well. Wasn't sure how a second series would work since the first seemed so self-contained and conclusive but it's very gripping and manages to justify itself. I'm also happy to see Ria Zmitrowicz added to the cast, always really enjoyed her when I've seen her on stage.

Obviously it’s crazily far fetched and ‘pot-boilerish at times but it just works. I’d just like Manville’s character to get a happy ending but the foreshadowing seems insane…’move away from the area’…🥺

I’d just like Manville’s character to get a happy ending but the foreshadowing seems insane…’move away from the area’…🥺 Some context - obviously it is still highly fictionalised - here (some spoilers if you are not up-to-date at the end of episode 5):-
I am just hoping that Ann Branson (brilliantly portrayed by Monica Dolan) gets her comeuppance in the final episode - but I am not holding my breath. I, too, would have like more of Manville, but the Ashbourne / Dolan clash is mesmerising. Both are superb performances - amongst many.
I actually hope there is not a series 3 - I don't see how it could live up to the past.
But I thought that at the end of series 1. How wrong was I?

I’m sure that every city has its’ dark underbelly, but having twelve cities dark underbelly’s squished into one is for me the far fetched bit of it. Regardless, it makes for a cracking drama.

We were a bit annoyed about the ridiculous sidestory of Andy in S1. It didn't add anything to the storyline at all. I know something similar happened in real life, but I don't understand why it was crammed into S1.
We're finding S2 hard going, but persevering with it.

I wonder if he got the boxset of The Wire for his birthday; going through aspects of society by series - union smashing, guns and drugs, what next the schools or politics/bribery/corruption/elections?
