I can't imagine they want a load of empty Part 2 tickets. Yes, agreed. My query was just about the best way to get a decent ticket for Part 1 only. It doesn't get any cheaper than this website. harrypotter.ticketing.nimaxtheatres.com/tickets/plans/harrypotterandthecursedchildpartoneI purchased a £15 ticket for Part 1 this Monday and am attending tomorrow, so there is good pricing available even at short notice. Mind you the sightlines and legroom in this price range are said to be terrible, but considering it is £15 I'm not complaining 🤷♂️

Saw part 1 earlier today and I couldn't be any happier that I had not booked part 2 as well.
Granted, at just over 30, I'm hardly the target audience for the show, though I did grow up with the Harry Potter books and films at the height of their popularity.
I've attended around 200 plays & musicals in London over the course of the past 3 years and this was easily top 3 most disappointing ones.
I found the writing uninspired, there was no suspense, no intrigue and I often found my attention veering towards exploring the ceiling while deliberating over what meal I was going to go for once this all wrapped up.
This wasn't helped one bit by the fact whoever was sat in front of me kept leaning forward significantly obscuring the view, but having paid just £15 for my seat, I was prepared to have something like that happen to me.
On the positive side, the "magic" is cleverly executed and transitions are very smooth on stage, but I found that to be the only redeeming quality of the show.

If that was in the bottom 3 of 200 shows, I really wonder what else you see in the theatre...

If that was in the bottom 3 of 200 shows, I really wonder what else you see in the theatre... Just within the last 7 days "How To Disappear Completely and Never Be Found", "The Unseen" and "Reykjavík". I am a bit too old to be impressed by simply prancing around waving magic wands à la HP and Wicked, without this also being backed up by more complex character development and engrossing dialogue. To quote HP & CC Part 1 "Wizzo. Wizzo? Wizzo!" I expect Part 2 is more of the same P.S. I've also previously seen and thoroughly enjoyed Jack Thorne's When Winston Went to War with the Wireless and Stranger Things: The First Shadow

I would say you are the exact target market.

Yeah same, and if you've seen 200 shows in the UK this year you'll have seen some proper crap that's objectively worse than this 😂

This sounds, sadly, like a classic case of Balcony-itus too. If anyone has sat up top at the Palace will testify. Cheap, but certainly not cheerful. I kind of wish you'd been able to see it lower down.

The number of stars from reviews, the number of awards it has won and the length of time it has been running suggests what you have posted might not be entirely correct.

Agree - aloadus bollococus.. the awards and repeat extensions speak for themselves.
