Thats good news indeed and having the venue there certainly does create a lot of extra revenue for Stratford with hotel bookings and the businesses at Stratford. There are more than enough apartments built and being built in the area with, what seems to be, a new building appearing every week. I have no idea where all these people are coming from to be able to afford the property prices. So the land not being used for housing development for a few more years won't be a bad thing. |

AFAIK the ABBA Arena was designed to be dismantled and relocated at the end of the run - so even if the application fails, it should not be too problematic to move to another site. I am sure many areas would be overjoyed to get the passing foot / thigh length boot fall.

alece10 There is, of course, no guarantee that the LLDC will agree to the extension. Also, it does, of course, depend on what type of housing is being postponed. We desperately need social housing in Stratford (I speak as one of many people whose adult children are still living with me due to the crazy property market) and whatever was developed here would have to include some of that. However, I would be happy to see the extension as I enjoy seeing people walking close to my home in their glad rags heading off to the venue. (The same is true of the students attending the London College of Fashion, now happily settled in the Olympic Park.)

Their costs may have gone up - like any venue, but it certainly hasn't affected profits. But don't they employ dynamic pricing too? |

John Lewis in Stratford Westfield now have a concession selling ABBA Voyage merchandise. You can't miss it as it's at the entrance on the ground floor and is blasting out ABBA music.

Hey,
Looking for some advice thinking of taking my mum
To this for her birthday how crowded is the standing dancefloor area and is the view still good if your further back?
She doesn't always handle cramped spaces well but I think she'd really enjoy this was thinking maybe an early afternoon show on a Sunday might be a shout but wondered from anyone who has been what your thoughts are?

Thanks I've gone twice for the Sunday afternoon shows (once about 2 months after opening and once about 6 months ago), they're still busy and lots of people packed in, but both times I've found people to be respectful of personal space and whilst people are still boogying, it's nowhere near as energetic as I imagine a Friday/Saturday night would be. |

All 3 times I've been were in the afternoon. Get there early to avoid the big rush on the DLR and hang around at the end to miss the main exodus. They open the actual auditorium quite early so you can get to your seats and watch everyone arrive. The auditorium is very spacious and isn't enclosed at all. Great views from the seating areas, probably better as you are raised above the dance floor.

Agreed… the price difference between block G and just across the aisle into F is significant - and not much difference in view. Get in early when the new dates go on sale and pick your seats carefully - going a row up and a few seats across can mean quite a saving. |

Saw this last month on the very end of Block E, Seats A3&4. Gifted from someone who could no longer make it. I think these are some of the lowest price point seats. There was was some impact on the illusion (which I only know from a quick bathroom break walking past the centre of the arena). But feel these were good value at the price. I enjoyed being front row above the dance floor. Have booked a repeat visit next year and gone for the opposide side in Block A, but seats A17 & A18 to be on the more central aisle of the block. Weren't too much higher in price than the very far side, but there was a big jump across the aisle into the next block. |
