Popped to Woking last night to see the first show of the week there. It's a nice theatre and an easy walk from the station. One slight annoyance, having booked a front row seat well in advance, they had added an additional three rows in front, which were far from full. I do think that theatres should offer people the option to move forward when they add extra rows. Still, the view was good and they'd left plenty of leg room.
It's a few years since I've been to this theatre. The last trip I can remember was for the Top Hat tour, where I managed to get trapped outside in section that they'd blocked off for cast and crew (yes, someone did let me back in). The theatre is built alongside a hill, which can be confusing with various entrances and exits.
The woman in front of me in the security queue had two mini bottles of wine confiscated from her handbag. I don't know how many the man she was with had hidden in his coat, which wasn't searched.
The show itself was on great form, with all the leads on. They announced the band leader at the start, which I don't remember happening before. This one has very much settled in now it's well into the tour, but as much fun as ever.
Don't know if I'll get chance to catch this cast again, but the New Victoria Theatre Woking is back on my radar as an easy journey from London.

This seems to be standard policy at the New Victoria Theatre Woking, it caught us out for Titanic and made me decide not to book at all for Motown The Musical there. I now check back nearer the time when I book Woking and will request an exchange ( ATG card so free) if they add the three front rows. Some theatres, notably Curve Leicester and Marlowe Canterbury, do have a policy of notifying customers and offering an exchange when an extra row(s) of seats closer to the stage is added. Many people avoid sitting in the very front row but people who book seats there are usually like me, and I assume you, and really want to be at the very front.

Well that was a fun night out. Not seen it for a few years since the first tour but was a pretty good cast though some of the lyrics were lost as the band was quite loud. Had understudy Brian who was very cute and it was pretty obvious he took "I'm not wearing any underwear today" literally. I'm sure they've added some extra bits for Trekie monster, during the Porn song. The final song was changed, pretty obviously, to Boris Johnson is only for now.
