I imagine they'll push back the start time regardless if it get the power restored by 7pm. Didn't Gypsy use backup generators when the power went down due to the fire in Holborn Yes - but not the same night that it happened. The Duchess or Novello also had their own generator going on. The Duchess had 2 or 3 generators parked outside for a good week after that Holborn fire. There's a certain irony in PPGW being cancelled given that power problems are part of the plot!

I was at the 5pm Murder Ballad too which got cancelled. The 8pm went ahead but they changed the start time to 8:30pm. They switched our tickets to that one. Almost the same seats too (same row, one seat down). They handled the whole situation really well, keeping people informed. One of the FOH guys even told people who wanted to wait and see if the 8pm show would go ahead to go into Pret across the road and he would pop in to let them know.
We grabbed coffee with Norman Bowman and were almost convinced he'd have a free evening when suddenly the lights came back on resulting in a dash across the road. :-)
Sad for those who couldn't stay for the eve show and can't make it next week either.

Eugh. Away in a (Pret a) Manger. Hope you didn't buy much of their overpriced crap! Was calling people who wanted real food too much?

They They really handled a situation out of their control well. As I said, we went somewhere for coffee. Although I don't mind Pret's sandwiches. ;-)

Sawdustwiches. Although, I would rather go to Pret than Five Guys Named Mo(e?) across the way, but that is like choosing whether you'd rather die drowning or in a fire.

Judging by Twitter, lights are back on at the Palace and they've moved the start time to 8:30. I suspect the power started to come on, when Jamie Parker arrived at the theatre.
