Two shows I think would be very good and new choices for Chichester would be Damn Yankees or Bye Bye Birdie. Quite American shows that hopefully wouldn't get lost but I can imagine they could be cast with some good names.
Also would love a new version of Chicago not linked to the Fosse one at all but that seems very unlikely.

I’m still surprised that ‘South Pacific’ didn’t transfer into a central West End house. That cast was as good as it gets, and sticking it into Sadlers Wells didn’t show a lot of faith. The programming comes across as a bit flaky at times, deliberately avoiding money makers for whatever reason. At least they had a plan with ‘Oliver’ this year which should boost their coffers at least. It’s not a uni drama society, it’s a commercial theatre with a quite specific audience. Play to it! Take their money.

None were available when they announced their plan for the London run. They could easily have waited for one. One of their major patrons owns a few! 🤣
