Anyone going to the RAH from now to November 1st there is a truly stunning exhibition of Andy Saunders remastered images from the full Apollo space years on large scale prints on the walls of the stalls corridor. It's promoting the Apollo Remastered book which has over 400 images which he has digitally reset from the 50 year old analog film which is normally kept secure and in freezers at NASA to preserve it. Several of the images you recognise but seeing them in sharper and true colours is like seeing them for the first time and going around the display it really does bring the whole amazing Apollo mission back to vivid life. At the time of the missions the print technology did not allow the images to be seen in their true colours and details and as these old images just get reprinted and scanned repeatedly the sharpness is lost even more. Mr Saunders has done an amazing job to return the images to a quality which matches the stunning achievement of man and technology they record. The books first run is a sellout and it seems UK book seller are awaiting new stock in October. Well worth spending sometime to view if you are heading to the hall while it's on.
