Last night was my first time seeing the new cast. A comment on Royal Circle Slips A1. An excellent view - of half the stage. I suspect A4 sees a bit more due to the angle. I'm surprised the Royal Circle slips are priced as they are. For all you technically got an upgrade from your Upper Circle slip seat, I do think the view is better from up there. A1 is cheaper than the four seats next to it, but still.

Anyone have a photo or opinion of the view from the £20 Grand Circle slips?

Anyone have a photo or opinion of the view from the £20 Grand Circle slips? Well, you run the risk that, as with me, you might book the Grand Circle slips and get moved to the Dress Circle slips, which have a horrible view.

Clearly the hype is dying off, as that was completely painless (except the price, of course). Hamilton and the Spice Girls... gonna be a hell of a weekend!

Can you not choose your own seats today? I'm wanting a box for the legroom but it doesn't give that option or to select your own

I'm wanting a box for the legroom but it doesn't give that option or to select your own They've probably turned that functionality off until the rush dies down. It doesn't tend to offer the boxes by default though, so they may well still be there when "select your seat" becomes available again.

Anyone have a photo or opinion of the view from the £20 Grand Circle slips? The view is fine for £20, side nearest you cut off so can't see the balcony. Not very comfortable and I wouldn't sit there for the first viewing but I'll be there on Saturday for my 6th time (3rd in G/C Slips!)

Went to Hamilton for the first time this saturday evening. One of a kind show. It seems to already have a big fan base with a lot of cheering and whistling throughout the show. I felt lucky to sat in the Stalls but it was completely ruined by a teenager who was there with her mum apparently, and who would sing along and even tell the lines before the cast on stage. Several people would turn around and look her with evil eyes but she'd continue along with his mother laughing. I don't know how I coped with this, honestly. And she wasn't the only one singing along unfortunately. Apart from that, the cast is really strong, the lightning is impressive and the soundtrack powerful. Would gladly see it again but it's a nightmare to book :/

Try and get the ones further from the stage (closer to the rest of the seats) if you can, the view gets worse as you go forward. And bear in mind it's one long (quite comfortable, padded) bench, but with no actual seat numbers on it, so get there first to claim your place!

How's this holding up? I've kind of avoided it because the hype, the queues and when I was in NYC the ticket prices were nuts.
I didn't like the London cast on the Oliviers I think I saw them.
But I saw tickets reasonable enough a few weeks ago and thought maybe it's worth a trip.

It’s made theatre into an event for them.

Anyone have a photo or opinion of the view from the £20 Grand Circle slips? View was pretty good for the money Has leg room but you find yourself leaning a lot which gets uncomfortable. Wouldn't recommend for 1st viewing but this was my 3rd so was happy enough that the bit I did miss had no bearing whatsoever on the play

That's a pretty unfortunate reason for avoiding anything - there will be people like that at any show that is remotely popular or has a famous name in it! Must mean you miss out on a lot if you consistently apply that rule!

Must mean you miss out on a lot if you consistently apply that rule! For example, I've never seen Mamma Mia on stage, I don't think I've missed out. I work in the industry so I see theatre all over the world. Theatre is work and entertainment a by product. If it's something I want to see I will bide my time until after the novelty has worn out or the new hot ticket comes along. Because I see so much theatre I spend my money wisely, and when I was in NYC I wasn't going to spend $1000 on a Hamilton ticket. I want to go to the theatre and be able to see and hear what's happening between the performers not someone who's only there to check-in on Facebook. It's a very valid reason for many people with or without medical conditions to avoid the type of events that attract a certain type of crowd. Things like All About Eve I will see early in the run because it's a limited engagement, Hamilton I can see at any number of locations for at least the next five years if not double that.

I've never seen anyone in the audience "just" there to check-in on Facebook? In any show, ever? It's not like everyone holds their phones up so you can't see what's going on on stage. Also, "type of crowd"? What are you driving at here? It's not like it's a drug-tastic music festival in a field somewhere, where people are acting dangerously out of control or whatever.

You’re all very naive or disingenuous.
You just have to scroll through a shows # or feed and everyone is there with their playbill.
Yes I think there’s a type of crowd, one I try to avoid and it’s well talked about I believe in the stage door drama thread and performers have asked people to have respect for them at stage door,
The new generation of theatre goers aren’t there for the show, their there for the status it gives or for the star.

And you work in the theatre industry? Ugh. This is literally the worst mindset anyone who works in or with theatre can have because it is SO WRONG.

Calm down guys, lets keep it amicable.
Personally I can agree with some points made by @mylifeindrama having seen plenty of non-theatre goers fill up my Instagram stories with snaps in the theatre. Not 100% buying tickets to sheerly proclaim their attendance, but there's a distinct element of boasting about being there. The ongoing nonsense in the Stage Door Dramas thread and otherwise is testament to this also.
I wouldn't say they're filling up the auditoriums but they are certainly shouting the loudest.
