Saw this last night and while I have to say the cast do a great job , the music for the most part isn't my thing. There are some great songs in it, just between them you have a lot of rap and a story that is difficult to follow. I didn't really care for the characters either. Having said all that I am glad to have seen it and the theatre is lovely after its makeover.

And its known for the rap, story and characters. The story is the American revolution. Specifically the story of Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. There certainly has been enough publicity to know the style and what it was about. Shame.

I was aware of the style but I guess I was so curious as to all the hype that this particular show has had so that I wanted to see for myself. As I said I am glad to have seen it and it got a great response, but this type of show is not for me, as the types of show that I like better are not for many of the audience that like Hamilton. Musical tastes differ but as I said I a taking nothing away from the talented cast of Hamilton. One thing omitted to say was that I liked the ensemble nature of the performance in that at the curtain call no one got singled out. One bow.

Oh my effing God! That’s very special indeed. I thought that I’d done well getting Jimmy Carter to be the voice of God in our Nativity, but obviously Hamilton has a bit more pull! 😂

Great afternoon seeing (some of) the new cast today. The show is a completely different beast with Ash Hunter; a more gentle, emotional and humorous Ham than t’other one. Understudy Washington & Jeff/Laff so can’t comment on the newbies but it is all pretty much the same. Jon Robyns is a hoot as KG3 and the dancing is still phenomenol. Being a lot closer than before just re-enforced my belief that ‘Yorktown’ is the slickest, most emotionally rousing five minutes of musical theatre currently in the W/E. You know when you find all new bits to love? One of them... I didn’t care that Aaron Lee Lambert blew one of his runs in ‘One Last Time’ because I’d already been blown away by everything else. Sifiso’s Burr is more like how how I imagine it was played in NY. Smooth & soulless; I didn’t feel sorry for him the way I did for Giles Burr. History conspiring against him etc, but none of it felt wrong or ‘bad’, just a different take on things.
NB. Looking up at the lighting rig was an almost orgasmic experience. A thing of intense and busy beauty.

Has this been discussed?
As of April 1st, Hamilton is adding 30 seats in the stalls. They should remove the extreme side seats as the view is severely obstructed.

There is plenty of room for an extra row in front of row K, I don't think it will be drastically different to the rest of the stalls, where legroom is fine.

Ugh, I got a front row stalls seat in April, so with that then be further forward causing a definite neck ache?

Stalls is the only level I haven’t sat in since the redevelopment. Are they moving seats or just squeezing an extra row into the gap and relettering? Moving half a level worth of seats in a day and a half seems a big job!

30 seats x 80 pounds = 2400 2400 x 8 shows per week = 19200 per week Almost one million pounds per year.

Let's be honest, if we were producers for this show, we would make anything to get more money.
Less legroom? Cam Mack couldn't care less, he's making 20k quid more each week. Can't blame him.

Wow, I'd be hacked off if I'd booked row K and now found my extra legroom (and probably better view) swiped to cram in another row at the back.

That's fairly hypothetical though, it's tricky enough to buy tickets at all, let alone choose specific ones. If you do even get to pick from a seating chart on Ticketmaster, you're picking from a limited availability and are SO unlikely to be able to say "well, I want stalls but I want decent legroom so I'll have one of these many row K seats here". And that's assuming you even know about row K having more legroom in the first place, it's certainly news to me, and not only am I on here all day, I've even seen Hamilton from the stalls, sooo...

And clearly Cameron has worked out the logistics so it’ll be barely noticeable to anyone who goes to see the show Nederlander also added extra seats before Beautiful so it’s not a new thing

Legroom was absolutely fine in Row L Stalls when I sat there. I can think of many other theatres where the legroom is a lot worse even in the expensive seats!

We were actually talking to the people next to us about how tight the rows were together!
