What does daily and weekly mean? Am I being stupid? I may be wrong, but I would interpret that to mean that an allocation will be released to the lottery each day as well as weekly. So, for example, every Friday at 12 noon, 20 tickets would be drawn for each of the performances during the following week - additionally, each day at 4pm another 20 tickets would be drawn from the lottery for that day's performance. I think you must be right. Thankyou!

Wow, all seats in the gods £55 or £35
Which must mean a few of the Royal Circle and Stalls will be at this "Regular Top" price of £85.
What will the majority of the seats be at, i.e. Premiums?!!!
It's a bit sick, right?

It's a bit sick, right? If our top price is £150 for premiums, that's the lowest price going for back of the rear mezz in New York. I'm fine with it. This is the biggest musical in 20 years and it's charging similar prices to 42nd Street/Dreamgirls. They could have been far worse than this.

I'm expecting pricing to be roughly as follows:
Upper Circle: £35/£55 Dress Circle: a few £55, mostly £85, front/central premiums between £100-£200 Stalls: £55 at the rear, mostly £85, everything in front of the circle overhang at premium, £100-£200
Front row (hopefully) lottery at £20!

I hope they won't overdo it with the premiums. Usually premium begins around row F-G-H where people don't have to look up anymore. So I hope the first rows in front and some seats on the side will "only" be £85.
I had expected regular top price to be £80, so not very happy. While I'm OK paying £85 for this "phenonemon from Broadway" all the other shows will inevitably pull up their prices as well.
I like Cam Mack's thinking though, making sure that affordable seats are around for every performance and the weekly lottery is a nice acknowlegement that us out of towners/musical tourists are really screwed by the daily lottery.
Did I miss this information or does it really not mention anywhere when exactly Ham opens?

I never thought I'd see the day when you have to pay £55 to sit in the upper circle. Wow. Think we can safely assume all seats in stalls and dress circle will be £85/ premium. Slightly staggered at the greed of the producers. And for Baz to say that charging £85 is to fund the 'lower' priced tickets.. purlease. How kind of them.

I mean, that's kind of how theatre has always worked? You charge a range of prices, and you balance out the top price tickets and the bottom price tickets so that you can make enough money to keep the show going without charging so much across the board that no one can afford to go or is forced into paying ridiculous costs for terrible seats. If this is Mackintosh's explanation, then it's very disingenuous of him if he's expecting praise and pretending it's a specific feature for this one show.

I forked out £125 to see both Kate Bush and Glenn in Sunset. There's not a chance I'd even go near that for Hamilton! So, I'll either have to scout around for discounts or bide my time until it's been playing for a while. The hype for this is going to apocalyptic as it opens, but I'm happy to see how it plays out in the months after.

Do we know if there be reduced previews? I reckon it'll probably be £10 off for previews, seems to be all we get these days!

How do we know the upper circle is going to be £55? I think it's silly to assume which prices will be where at this point. Note the prices say '£55 or less', '£35 or less' so likely there will be another lower price in there as well.

Remember people were paying on average $3000 in resale to see him in his last weeks on Broadway. It will be far cheaper for those who didn't get to see him to fly over and pay premium.

That's crazy money that I would never consider. Ever.
As I said, I'm happy to bide my time. I did for Book Of Mormon and ended up seeing it 4 months after it opened for a very decent price.

Also, Lin does absolutely nothing for me as a performer, so I'd be happy to see whoever takes over from him!

I get that. I wouldn't pay $1000s either. I'm just saying if you wanted to see it in its first year, I think its opening (and especially preview) prices will actually be better than 6 months down the line when Lin might be in the cast.

Normally I'd agree on the previews side. However, given that the publicity machine for this has already been kicked into action for this, albeit still in a low-key scale, I think the previews will be just as crazy as the first three months.

I'm quite happy Lin isn't opening, love him as a person/writer/composer but he's not a 'must see' in the role for me, so I'll happily see before the crazy ups a notch! (plus I do love me some Javier, so hoping we get him at first instead...)

Ah, thanks. Had hoped to catch an early preview when I'm over in October, but guess I'll have to wait a bit then.

The weekly lottery in particular sounds like it'll be a great opportunity for people who wouldn't mind seeing it, don't have a particular timescale, but don't want to pay a fortune, as you can just keep entering from the comfort of your own space until you're eventually lucky. I'm sure it won't be as chaotic in London as it is in New York, or even as chaotic as Harry Potter is. And if the daily lottery is an online one rather than a "turning up at the theatre" one, then even better.
I just hope (complete nonsequitur) they cast it with a better eye to diversity than In The Heights has managed...

ITH is an independent production by that is not managed by Miranda and his team. Which explains why they've had a white Usvani all the time (so messed up). Hamilton is part of the original creative's franchise and will be completely managed and produced by them (along with Cam Mac), so we can ensure that it will be consistent with the versions they are producing across the US now.
