Is that the number on the park bench in act two (if I’m remembering correctly)? If so, that was a very good number, yeah.

Although I've never heard of them, they seem pretty spot on casting based on that video

Seems odd that WOS are announcing some lead cast now with the rest coming tomorrow morning - is isn’t normal to split it, is it?

Drip feeding this way is a marketing tactic and does seem to be more common. Ridiculous though, and only a small handful of people will actually care or be excited enough at the release of every tiny bit of info.

Had been told Amy was Andy, but she makes waaaaay more sense as Emily.
I'm game.

Hadn't the idea been that Amy was Andy? I mean this does seem to make more sense just on the clip (I've never seen them)

I’m pretty sure Amy Di Bartolomeo has been cast as Emily, previously Aragon in six! This was posted last year.

There was nothing to do with charity bake sales or orphanages in the film script. Andi never called Emily a bitch, that wasn’t her character she was very sweet. They’re both totally “off”.

Not at all meaning to be snarky but it is good to know they are not just aping the film script but instead, doing an honest adaptation to the stage. I think we will see a lot more of the elements that made the film successful in this production (which were sorely absent in Chicago) but hopefully not word-for-word scenes verbatim. In terms of the b word, why not? Andi was naive but not necessarily sweet in the film. A sweet girl wouldn't have laughed at Miranda and her team when they were seriously discussing two similar belts for a photo shoot. She showed a certain snarkiness/cyncism that found her getting her ass handed back to her. :-)

An involuntary giggle at the belt situ, nothing more. No snark. I see little point in taking a film that was critically well received, deciding to make it into a musical but changing the character of the protagonist, or coming up with lines that are different but less pithy/funny than the original. However if people like change for the sake of it go right ahead!I’ll just rewatch the film (for the 45th time 😲)

So is this an adaptation of the book or the movie? Technically?

Was Debbie meant to be alternate and they changed it to standby or was the above poster just mistaken when they said alternate.
Thanks

All good and no worries at all...i am just concerned that when i book, Vanessa is meant to be on so I wanted to know if she has a scheduled day off each week, or when her holiday is LOL.

Yeah, sorry. WhatsOnStage edited their article to change it from alternate to standby. So far there are no dates announced when Vanessa won’t be performing.

Exciting to hear Tosh is choreographing and directing! Tosh did tell me back in February that he ‘helped out’ Jerry the director and choreographer.. but he very much played it down and did not say he was officially assistant for both!!! So happy for him :-)
