So has she got the role or is this a not so subtle nudge to CamMack that she was SENSATIONAL and the audience couldn’t get enough of her singing this song? 🤔

I know this won’t change many people’s opinion re: Carrie but just to add my two-penneth, I met her at the stage door after a Cinderella matinee last week and she was really lovely. There must have been about 100 people waiting but she took her time with every single one, chatting, signing and taking selfies. Most actors with that many people waiting for them would probably say in advance “just a quick autograph or selfie and then move on”. (Stage door being back is obviously a whole different conversation, I wasn’t one of those people going along in the height of covid transmissions when we were actively being told not to but at this point the cast are encouraging people to come along again).

Alice Fearn sang it at the afternoon show and got a great reaction too.....I know who I'd rather see!

I think she will 100% be Nancy in the next production.

I think she will 100% be Nancy in the next production. I’d much rather Carly Mercedes Dyer if this is going to happen. But then again- she deserves a better role than another Cameron rehash.

Kinda hope old CHF isn't Nancy in thie possible revival, she's alright she just hasn't got that gritty side Nancy has.

I’d be worried about Carrie doing the cockney accent.

I’d be worried about Carrie doing the cockney accent. Carrie acting in general is always a problem

Any update? I was looking to produce this show next summer, but MTI says:
'APPLICATIONS CURRENTLY BEING CONSIDERED FOR PERFORMANCES UP TO 31ST DECEMBER 2022. ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS MAY APPLY WITHIN 100 MILES OF CENTRAL LONDON. WE ARE UNABLE TO CONSIDER LICENSING PRODUCTIONS SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE AFTER 1ST JANUARY 2023.'

Apparently was going into the Prince Edward but MJ is being considered for there now.

What a delightful choice...
One musical about boys exploited by an older criminal mastermind...
And the other a musical about someone alleged to have had unhealthy relationships with children

An interesting note in the latest email newsletter from MTI, the organisation who provide performance rights to amateurs and school groups, saying that there has been a change to the availability of Oliver! rights...
Apparently they have been restricted (which usually happens when a professional production is on the horizon) but now they are freely available until the second half of 2024, which suggests whatever production was planned is now no longer happening until at least then.
Thought that was worth reporting!

Alan Cumming mentions he has been asked to play Fagin in this video (02:30 - though the question does say on Broadway)...

I’m amazed Leeds Playhouse have the rights to do this when Cameron’s one is opening next summer

Is it true that they want Damien Lewis for Fagin and CHF for Nancy? And a Chichester run before transferring to the West End?
(For Cameron’s production)

The last year or so has shown she isn't much of a draw for more than one or two nighters so there really are more talented and exciting options out there. Also surprised they don't want a bit more diversity. If it starts in Chichester then I'd guess it would be a smaller scale production rather than Drury Lane?

I actively avoid anything she’s in now and it would be a shame if I couldn’t see Oliver. has Damien Lewis been on stage since the loss of Helen McCrory? I would love to see him back at some point

I would love to see him back at some point He just released his first album and is touring with that - so sort of being on stage, I guess. Would love to see him on stage again, too, might even tolerate hearing CHF screech through "As long as he needs me" for him.

If this is really Chichester show next year prior to London does that mean it will replace Mormon or Hamilton? (Assuming its one of Camerons theatres)
Anything designed for Chichester would have to be vastly scaled up for TRDL so it doesnt get lost on that stage.

Drury Lane has the ability to be reconfigured so it doesn't have to be scaled up at Chichester.
