Sunday seems an odd day to announce. Hope it's somewhere easy to get to and not somewhere like Ally Pally.

Could the show be Next to Normal?

That won’t be Sunday or Dolly
It will be some concert nonsense again.

The teaser image looks a bit similar to the colours of 'Bright Star'. Don't know the show myself and not sure how desperate I am to see it, especially if it is a concert.

Think it might be Light In The Piazza

Not sure about that. The wording in the post says "and finally we are allowed" rather than him so I read that in general terms and Light in the Piazza has been done here before. But what do I know!

Just let them have weighed up the sound design first in whatever ‘exciting’ space has been booked, so that the no doubt ‘exciting’ talent they’ve booked can be heard singing shatever the ‘exciting’ score is. Exciting! 🎉🎉🎉

Maybe he’s more independent now but the rule I have learned to apply is that any concert style event built around its conductor is financed though this approach. Apply it here and another notable production company.

Was about to post the same. Can’t say I’m fussed tbh. Ally Pally is such a dreadful place to get to if you have to get the train into London for it. I wonder who he’ll have in mind to cast? Probably Rob Houchen

Probably Rob Houchen Me either. Dreadful location and I didn't enjoy it when I saw it last time. But yeah I'd assume Rob Houchen will do it again and he was the best thing about it.

Whilst I think The Bridges of Madison County and The Light in the Piazza are in a league of their own in therms of modern musicals- is anyone else getting fed up with the concert?
I completely understand why this option is chosen- give us a full production.
I have a copy of the PBS version that was screened in America on DVD, I also saw the Royal Festival Hall version from a couple of years back and the recent Royal Academy of Arts version a couple of weeks ago,
Grr!

I enjoyed it at the RFH but I'm not travelling to Ally Pally.

Ally Pally theatre is really lovely - we saw Shadwell Opera's production of 'Where The Wild Things Are' there. We live in Stratford (E15) and don't find it too much of a hassle getting to the venue. Tube to Moorgate then a 20 minute train journey to Alexandra Palace Rail station. Then it's a (quite strenuous) walk up the hill or a short bus ride. Either way you get magnificent views across London. Be lovely if Rebecca Caine got to play Margaret Johnson given that her recent run in the production in Colorado was shortened by Covid.
