I went on for a look out of interest and the cheapest ticket I could see now is £110 and there are very few of those left. Next cheapest is £175. The seat I paid £100 for originally is now triple that. ATG sure know how to surf the dynamic pricing wave but I think it's wrong of them, sorry.

I don't think they're actually selling well though, when compared to the huge demand and the kind of queue.

Tickets are on sale and I managed to get through the queue in about 10mins. I loved this at the Almeida so was keen to book again, but these prices are a joke - 3rd row is £300! There is of course the £15 seats in the new set of dates but it's so far away from the stage that you probably won't be able to see much. Looks like front row isn't on sale - assuming there will be a lottery or something; I'll just enter that everyday! lol Yes, lottery and day seat plans have been announced www.whatsonstage.com/london-theatre/news/streetcar-named-desire-tickets-west-end_58521.html'However, the opportunity to buy them is allocated via a game of chance that takes place in-person outside the Phoenix Theatre. There are only 10 day seats available in total, and five winners will have the chance to purchase a pair.' What is this nonsense? Just say people have to go queue up early...a game of chance? This is nuts

They didn't make it clear that tickets for the extra week would be three times the original price. Unless they are Russian oligarchs, I'm sure many of those queuing would have gasped in horror when they entered the website!

This is nuts I'm sure I saw something like this for a different show before COVID - I can't remember which one though! It's a bit odd, and the people will likely be hardcore Paul fans. Limiting it to 30 people also means you'll have to get there early which just isn't feasible for most people who work everyday.

I got an email saying booking opens at 1, decided FOMO was going to get the best of me and pounced on a sligtly lonely looking £37.50 ticket pretty central in the upper circle row E. Hope I've done the right thing!

Oh man, look at all those £200-£300 seats. Is this a new West End record??
I remember how long I hesitated before buying tickets for Anything Goes and Cabaret. I just bought very good seats to see Aida at the ROH for 150.
I really wanted to see this production after all the good reviews, but living far from London, the cost of crossing over, paying for the plane tickets, hotel, trains and the ticket for the play itself, could make me about 1000 euro poorer. That will teach me to be more prescient when buying tickets to see Almeida shows.

I just noticed that the top price of £300 yesterday was raised to £305 today. A weird thing to decide “i bet we can get an extra £5 out of them”.

I think Cabaret still had a higher top price. Think it was 330 and I remember when they released majority of NY eve tickets really late, all priced at 300, no matter where in the theatre.

And Cock hit £400 remember, until the bad press over pricing made them rewind to a much more reasonable £250 or so…

I offered my mate an Almeida invite for this last year and unfortunately she turned it down, despite the extortionate ticket price of £5 each. She’s kicking herself now haha

These ticket prices are disgusting. Shame on the producers. It's a sh*tty move to hike them so high. And they clearly weren't sold out. And that's a load of nonsense about waiting until the staging was finalised to release more tickets, as all the extra seats were dotted all over the place like in the middle of the stalls, which would have been unaffected by the staging of the show. They were clearly held back to be massively inflated when the demand and FOMO kicked in.

It’s the same with A Little Life, keep finding extra seats despite having “sold out” multiple times.

Sorry, but anyone who actually agrees to pay two or three hundred pounds for a ticket is an absolute mug and deserves to waste their money. They only charge that because people pay it. I'm almost impressed that they're selling any tickets at all being so openly greedy.

Those tickets won't sell at that price. They'll be slower to go, but think they will sell out.

£85 tickets just added in rear stalls across the first couple of weeks for anyone looking for something slightly more affordable!

With $200+ USD being the price for a pretty average seat to see Sweeney Todd and other shows in NYC right now, I think you're correct that some visitors won't balk as much at the price.
Thankfully, I've seen enough Streetcar productions to fill a lifetime, so unless a good value seat becomes available during a future trip, I won't have any FOMO.

Anyone who pays those sort of prices is an idiot and causes damage to the West End.

Those tickets won't sell at that price. I can imagine tourists will pay that price tbh. Oscar nominee and a classic American play, so maybe they're relying on that, but on Twitter I saw Millennial and Gen Z fans of the actor Paul Mescal queuing and then bailing out disappointed when they saw the ticket prices, also adding that if they'd known the prices beforehand they wouldn't have spent time online queuing. It's a shame because if you want to nurture and draw in a new audience to theatre, having a TV star like this is the perfect way to do it, but the prices create the impression for newcomers that theatre is for the rich.
