Quite a surprise, they're now heading to Canada for a limited engagement. Prince of Wales theatre Wow, most of the West End cast too (with the exception of Les Dennis, who I suspect is booked for panto). They have the staircase in the photos, so they may even be shipping that over to Toronto. It's a bit too far for me to travel though, much as I'd like to see that cast again.

He’s doing Beauty and the Beast in Northwich in Cheshire.

Is Ruthie going too? I had heard rumours she’d be back at some point and this engagement would make sense

I nipped over to Woking to see this earlier in the week, which is likely to be my final time with the current cast (unless I end up feeling inspired enough to fly to Belfast). Good to see a much fuller ensemble than usual, including eight men in Plenty of Money (although a challenging seven female ensemble in Shuffle, which led to some confusion about which train carriages to use).
I do think that the main cast have improved, although the decision to not leave time for anyone to laugh after certain lines I'm sure must be a deliberate choice to speed things along. There was a missing line as well, and another odd version of the coffee line, but who cares with such a fun show?
On a separate note, I'm always impressed by the actors who have to get changed and still manage to beat me back to Woking station.
I'm glad this is touring again next year. It has been a rather successful tour.

Saw the matinee today in Woking and had no idea who was playing any of the roles, other than thinking (rightly, when I checked afterwards) I recognised Michael Praed. I'd heard Les Dennis's name mentioned, too, and see now that he is listed but either he was off or unrecognisable. (He does get about as it doesn't seem long since he was praised for the revival of Spring and Port Wine, which I'd have loved to see.) I had nothing to compare this with, not having seen it on earlier tour dates and/or with different actors; only once, some years ago in London, when it made no great impression on me. This meant I was able to enjoy it for what it was and not feel short-changed by the number of dancers or cast changes and it certainly seemed to go down well. However, I don't think I'd ever want to see a 3rd version as it really is a song and dance show with a predictable plot and basic characterisation and fine for a change, but I find plays more satisfying with their dialogue and interaction - I did find my mind wandering at times as though there's always something to look at, there's nothing to engage with mentally.

Les wouldn’t have been on- he’s doing the Strictly live show today

Received an ATG email today that the Wimbledon part of the tour has been cancelled (18-23 March). Offered a credit voucher instead. Disappeared entirely from the ATG New Wimbledon Theatre page!

I imagine this whole second leg is being axed That’s a shame. The tour so far seemed to be selling well without a lot of discounting, unless I’m missing something.

Birmingham Hippodrome performances next April/May also cancelled, so presume the whole tour cancelled. I've been offered credit which lasts for two years.

I guess Les Dennis isn’t available and they’re not confident about ticket sales without a star.

I doubt Les Dennis is that much of a draw.
Maybe they've secured a west end transfer, or a transfer elsewhere that could be more profitable

Sad the tour is coming to an end, as I loved it at Sadlers Wells.
Hasn't it sold well on the tour ?

Enjoyed this this afternoon, but we all felt it dragged at times and even by old musical standards, there really wasn't much of a plot to move things along.
That said the cast are excellent and the tap is outstanding. Clever use of projections and great costumes and set design.
No staircase at all was a little disappointing. I thought there was a smaller one for this production.

Such a shame, I’d hoped to catch this again at Wimbledon.

Saw this yesterday afternoon in Newcastle. No understudies on and it was lovely to see Michael Praed as he wasn’t originally listed for Newcastle. Really enjoyed the whole show. The tap dancing was fabulous. Nicole-Lily Maxwell really is the star of the show. Could easily see this wonderful show again. An easy 4 stars from me.

Agree, love that show and sad the tour is apparently ending early. Has Nicole-Lily recently married or changed her name ? She was a Baisden not Maxwell at Canterbury in July .

I think they’ve got confused. Someone has the surname Maxwell in the cast I think and it’s not Nicole LB
