I'd like to see Matt Goss crack at anything. I don't think that face has moved for 15 years. I think you’ll find that it’s down to pounding the L’Oreal Men Expert and doing funny face stretching exercises. Absolutely bugger all to do with the face full of poison...

Now we know why she cancelled her tour Ah...yes indeed. It is a West End gig after all. A step up from touring in The Bodyguard and Sister Act.

I am so glad Ryan's campaign to get Alexandra back onto the west end stage has been successful.

I am so glad Ryan's campaign to get Alexandra back onto the west end stage has been successful. De rien. To be honest, with all this heat, I've ended up with so much rotten fruit that I had to do something to be able to get rid of it. And I really don't just like to throw it away.

Now we know why she cancelled her tour Ah...yes indeed. It is a West End gig after all. A step up from touring in The Bodyguard and Sister Act. She did the Bodyguard at the Adelphi for a few months at the end of the run, didn't she? Also, Chess. I like Alexandra and am looking forward to seeing her in this. It's always amusing to read some of the faux outrage on here when she's cast in something. It's a step up from Cheryl Cole (in terms of talent) who was mentioned on here previously, though I'm not sure if she was mooted to play Roxie or Velma.

So Alexandra has posted in Facebook that she's started rehearsals and it's sent her anxiety through the roof. Also denies that doing Chicago is not the reason she cancelled the tour ("the timing just wasn't right")

Is the ensemble choreo as tight as it was back in the day? Because when it was good it was great.

Hey guys, I booked to see the show to see Alexandra but my friend is interested to see it too but does the theatre have any policy on day seats as I don’t want to waste too much money? Thanks X

Yes it's extremely sad. Poor man. Very sad. It sounds as if TPTB were taking out their dislike of the contract situation on the man himself, when it wasn't his fault.

Alexandra Burke was talking about this on the BBC Radio Two breakfast show this morning.
Other guests included Matt from X Factor who has just joined Strictly Ballroom, and the cast of Jamie who sang in the studio. Was worth a listen.

Yes it's extremely sad. Poor man. Very sad. It sounds as if TPTB were taking out their dislike of the contract situation on the man himself, when it wasn't his fault. The other thing is the guy’s state of mind. The article implies he was having other personal issues, such as a dispute in a business venture. If he hadn’t taken the tragic action he did, the union would’ve been involved, he’d have either been bought out for the $40k or whatever stated in the article, or if he got litigious could’ve gone down the constructive dismissal route and received a larger sum... (not sure how that works over there, but I know American Equity are as strong as they come and producers hate to cross swords with them). It seems like a tragic “perfect storm”. But bullying at work should never ever be tolerated.

I have indeed. They need someone to throw the rotten fruit every night. I selflessly volunteered. Why does La Burke always look like she's trying to remember whether she left the gas on or not? She can't be that forgetful surely? One hopes she's better at remembering a script.

Well I just hope their bag searches don't uncover your stash! I hope she makes a success of it though. It isn't the toughest of roles and i'm sure her vocals will be great.

I'm sure she'll be astonishing. And you can be sure that whenever one note is required, she'll give you half a dozen just so that you get your moneys worth. Bless her.
I do hope they are compensating her for missing her other work while she does this show though. Her tour for a start. And those SlimFast adverts don't make themselves either.

Well I just hope their bag searches don't uncover your stash! I hope she makes a success of it though. It isn't the toughest of roles and i'm sure her vocals will be great. She can dance it, she should have won strictly and can cartwheel. The issue is whether she can act it as an airhead or a psychopath or both, and whether she can do comedy at all well.
I really think the powers that be really need to get out of their habit of just throwing in someone who has been on the telly. Its the sort of aimless, pointless, repetitive, behaviour that elsewhere would cause medical alarm bells to go off. There's very little logic left to it when the audience for their show doesn't watch that telly, if it it does its not going to be able to pay their prices, and much of their audience, in this case, may be foreign and sadly deprived of the X factor or Strictly.
She may be able to do it, but whether you look at past performances, or just the top performers resting at the moment, there's an awful lot of top actresses new, or mid 20s but recognised as being very good, or long established and dance enabled , who could probably act it much better.
The Bodyguard is a different case. That role has to recruit a top performer from a numerically limited subset of top performers, where demand is probably already exceeding supply, and it requires someone with a similar vocal and not as much acting ability. I may go and see her in that- as I suspect it may be a long wait to see Rachel again.
