Thanks - full price tickets for previews mind...is that normal? The prices are even higher after opening I’ve gone for a preview in the grand circle, I’ll definitely want to see this.

Love Changes Everything may be suitable for impressionable Alex to sing, but it's hardly appropriate for an old George to be singing such rubbish. Is Don Black going to do a revision? Love Changes Nothing Much, Someone Else Will Catch My Eye....

Its interesting when Aspects was revived with the Toronto production which became the US tour - they did revise the lyrics to Love Changes Everything. I remember thinking how it went from "hands and faces earth and sky" to "each beginning, each goodbye" and how just a seemingly simple change like that provided so much more depth taking it from a trite immature thing to something a bit more profound.

the very adult bohemian bed hopping might not go over with the general public. But at least in that aspect the show (and original book) were way ahead of their time in that they showed two liberated self-determined women who took lovers like they wanted and weren't the whiny "I need a man to rescue me and cling to" pseudo-heroines so many shows of that period favoured. My guess that the cast will be very diverse and colourblind and that least one of the female parts will be played by a trans performer as in other "reimagined" works recently. I don't know about that. Rose absolutely needed a man, at least in the original staging and in the US tour. She went along with the wind when it came to choosing lovers, but she definitely needed one on hand and a potential one lined up. "Anything but Lonely" pretty much sums it up.
"You have a right to go But you should also know That I won't be alone for long Long days with nothing said Are not what lie ahead I'm sorry, but I'm not that strong...
I'm still young, don't forget It isn't over yet So many hearts for me to thrill. If you're not here to say How good I look each day I'll have to find someone who will."
I can't see Rose being played by a transgender actor, but maybe Giuliana - only if said actor can sing as a countertenor. Who knows what they'll do. I've pretty much given up on ALW at this point.

Is this going to be another west end special where they sell tickets to MICHAEL BALL IN ASPECTS OF LOVE but then don't care if he is actually in it or not? They will still take your money regardless?

Michael's a very reliable performer it's pretty rare for him to miss days.

Michael is a very safe pair of hands, he is very much known for his professionalism and hating missing performances. I hear you - but in this case I think it’ll be fine. Obviously things might happen but 4”regardless of one’s opinion of Michael as a person, he certainly isn’t a sick note and takes his work seriously.

Any idea who is designing this? I think Jonathan Kent works a lot with Anthony Ward.

The design of the show is awful. I do hope they change it.

The design of the show is awful. I do hope they change it. Eh? This makes no sense. Unless you mean the show logo?

Just had aspects of love ad popping up on a newspaper website. Super excited this is happening... it really is a fantastic score. I've only ever seen the show live once- in Canterbury with David Essex and it wasn't great. I do hope this revival gives the score the show it deserves. I remain perplexed why ALW was drawn to the book... if anyone has read it, it's more of a novella with very dodgy undertones... a guy basically having feelings for the 13 yo daughter of an old flame, and a poorly written book at that... endless drama with no depth.

I'm not familiar with him but I've just googled him and his opera and ballet designs are very spectacular. I love his paintings also - he looks just right for Aspects of Love.

He’s a wonderful designer. That’s a relief it isn’t Bunny Christie setting it inside a white box.

I’m in two minds about whether to book for this or not.
I love the music, but I saw the version that the Menier did back in 2010(?) and wasn’t convinced by it as a show.
Might wait and see the reviews first (and / or see if there are any offers once it opens)

Oh.... I was determined to be positive but I've heard such poor things. Mostly I think Jamie's acting was mentioned so I'm hoping he at least has the vocals for this. Although I guess Michael's pinched his big song anyway!

That’s me skipping this show then. He is just terrible. Of all the people.
No.
This is when we find out Rosalie has dropped out and Liisi is playing Rose.

I am so disappointed was hoping it might be Rob Houchen😕 Yes, Rob would have made a great Alex. I also think he would have made a far better Christian than Jamie did. Don't understand this casting at all.

Do we think Rob just wasn’t interested in the role? He would have sung and acted it to perfection. Such a loss to have never been given a chance to see what he can do with it. I’m hoping Jamie Muscato is finding something to lift it. (NB I’m talking about Moulin Rouge).
