More likely a cast member being committed to another show on the Friday. (Purely speculation).
However, I also just noticed that Soophia Foroughi is billed as alternate Giulietta, so I wonder which shows Danielle is not doing.

Disappointed the first preview is cancelled. I fly home on 15 May and the only performance before I leave is on the 13th, but I already booked that slot with Mrs. Doubtfire. UGH. No Michael Ball for me!

Did anyone hear back yet regarding swapping to another date?

Has anyone seen anything to say who will be George when MB is off? I mean, I'm sure I'll enjoy them more than him either way, but it would be nice to know who I'm going to see. Even that BWW article credits Soophia as alternate Giulietta but doesn't mention anyone as alternate George. Assuming that they won't give them both the same alternate night, I might have to go twice - Soophia was captivating in Rumi, I need to hear her Hand Me the Wine and the Dice. I’m really surprised that an alternate is needed for the role of Giulietta. It is a prominent role, but not huge - and it is very much secondary to the role of Rose. I assume there must be an alternate for the roles of Rose and Alex too then? I still think it’s a strange decision for a more featured, rather than a starring, role. I don’t ever remember any alternates for any of the roles in Aspects of Love before this production - I could be wrong though.

I wouldn’t overthink it, it’s probably just Danielle De Niese being a diva.

I suspect DDN has other commitments, although not currently at Glyners!

It'll be because Danielle has negotiated it off rather than because the role demands it.

It'll be because Danielle has negotiated it off rather than because the role demands it. Definitely - very much a supporting role. Though "There Is More To Love" is ALW at his melodic finest.

She loves herself and loves to act the diva. It’s certainly true that she doesn’t have any Glyndebourne jobs lined up this year - she pulled out of the lead role of a brand new production there, and then popped up as appearing in this!

Got my first preview ticket switched out. Not the same great seat I had but it’s comparable and I can’t really be too picky when my travel schedule is so planned out already. But happy it was taken care of quickly.

Maybe it’s cancelled to allow Jamie extra time to try and learn how to act? They may need longer.

Is there a possibility that this will extend or is it strictly limited?

Is there a possibility that this will extend or is it strictly limited? Limited as Peter Pan Goes Wrong is going into the Lyric after it.

Is there a possibility that this will extend or is it strictly limited? If so think it would have to move theatres as it finishes on 11 November and Peter Pan Goes Wrong is booked in from 23 November to 14 Jan!

I’m SO excited about this show. Been watching the Insta takeover clips today and also seen the marquee at the Lyric so it finally feels real.
God I hope it’s gonna be good! (Sure it will be).

I honestly can’t make my mind up about this. LPP is the one I’d like to see. I saw the original production but every one I have seen since has been dreadful

I'd quite like to see it too but the male leads put me off. It just comes across as a vanity project for Michael Ball.

I'd quite like to see it too but the male leads put me off. It just comes across as a vanity project for Michael Ball. A vanity project would be if he was playing Alex. I think it’s a stretch to suggest that him playing a role which is firmly in his casting bracket is a vanity project…
