Clip sounds great, hope we get a soundtrack recording; I always find the OCR underwhelming from an orchestral point of view. Plus it misses all the additions/revisions that were added later on. (Duet version of TiMTL & the proper end to ABL.) And AnnCrumb was never my favourite Rose. So fingers crossed for this. ^ Ditto to all the lack of revisions/additions. Aspects of Love was the first musical I ever saw, and started my interest in theatre and ALW. The score remains a favorite even if the story always was bonkers. But just hearing that clip of Seeing is Believing with a real orchestra and not two pianos and a string or something has me excited for this. Will have to see if I actually cross the Atlantic to see it. But if its a full on revival that takes off, I'm willing to take the expense

Only LCE from Aspects on the ALW prog tonight. (A very youthful Michael Ball lip-syncing on Top Of The Pops!) I spotted a couple mistakes; Glenn Close first performed The Perfect Year in London? (Um, no, it was Patti.) And Starlight Express was written by Don Black?! (Richard Stilgoe might disagree. If not him then certainly his bank manager.) But it contained a few performances I'd never seen before, so was worth it overall.

Good to see Rosemary Ashe back in the West End So in that article it mentions "everything changes when Jenny turns 18" Wasn't it 16 in the original? Is this an attempt to make it less icky?

Has anyone seen anything to say who will be George when MB is off? I mean, I'm sure I'll enjoy them more than him either way, but it would be nice to know who I'm going to see. Even that BWW article credits Soophia as alternate Giulietta but doesn't mention anyone as alternate George.
Assuming that they won't give them both the same alternate night, I might have to go twice - Soophia was captivating in Rumi, I need to hear her Hand Me the Wine and the Dice.

Oh ops I missed that bit, so sorry. I'm surprised they're doing that tho as I assumed he was a selling point and it would be better to have even just 7 shows a week but all with MB

It would be great to see Michael Matus be the understudy for George. Isn't Marcel usually the George U/S?

That’s one seriously un diverse cast.
Does EVERYTHING have to be diverse (and unrealistic) casting these days?

...I don't know Aspects of Love well but what in the story would make this having a diverse cast 'unrealistic'?

Nothing particular about the story, but blood relative characters with completely different ethnicities (of actors) I struggle with, sorry.

That’s one seriously un diverse cast. Soophia Foroughi is British Iranian, and will be Ensemble and the alternate for Danielle De Niese who is a Sri Lankan Burgher with some Dutch and Scottish heritage. Eu Jin Hwang is based in London and Singapore, and Chumisa Dornford-May lists her native accent on Spotlight as South African.

First preview cancelled. Nothing left for second preview, good luck to anyone stuck trying to exchange.

Just out of curiosity, did they say why the first preview was cancelled?

Just out of curiosity, did they say why the first preview was cancelled? Technical reasons stated, which seems like a bit of a bland excuse.

I'm sure it's just as frustrating and disappointing to all cast and crew involved.

I'm sure it's just as frustrating and disappointing to all cast and crew involved. If it can't be helped it can't be helped, this is always the risk of first previews. But it's probably not quite as disappointing for cast & crew as for those who have made travel plans, and are now out of pocket and no longer have the seats they paid for (yes you can rebook but it won't be for first preview and probably will be in a worse seat unless you wait a week or so, which you likely don't want to do if you'd hoped to be at the very first performance). It is what it is, but what it is... is disappointing.

I don’t believe they would know of a technical reason to delay the show at this early stage. I don’t believe that is the actual reason.
