The recording has dropped on Spotify. I don't think it was meant to though, as my version on Spotify is now not working - I think they're in the process of removing it.

This morning, I listened to all of Act 1 (but skipped over michael ball, obviously!) And now half the album is greyed out- eh. What's going on ? Love is in the air is tagged on after Our Time. I'm guessing that didn't happen on the night?

Yes it isn’t downloading- is this a mistake? When was it due to be released?

Will this actually do all 16 weeks as advertised? It's not selling well at all.

Will this actually do all 16 weeks as advertised? It's not selling well at all. It'd be a real shame if it doesn't but, realistically, this always had limited appeal. Sondheim (as much as some of us may love him) is tricky commercially and, outside of die-hard fans, Bernadette and Lea mean little. This probably needed a "big" box office draw although, even then, I'm not convinced at those prices. I'm sure it'll be great and let's hope all those connected with it (front of house, on- and back-stage) get the promised duration of employment.

I am waiting for a price drop or day tickets and plan to attend more than once. I suppose there will be more people in the same situation. If it gets good reviews probably will sell far more tickets.

I want to see it too, but am not prepared to pay the silly money they are asking for a decent seat. I shall wait for offers.

It strikes me as interesting that there is a debate on the Evita thread about poor production values for three mediocre shows that eventually sold, and another parallel discussion here about a show that will have high production values but is struggling to sell. Shows just how risky "showbusiness" is for producers.

Harry Apps, Bella Brown, Richard Dempsey, and Monique Young have been announced as “co-star alternates” but no news on the shows they will perform in.

I held off booking initially until there’s confirmation of whether people are doing all dates or having holidays/days off. But I also wouldn’t book it now because it does look really expensive, even with the currently advertised £40 off offer.

I got a similar offer or maybe the same one that was rather misleading it was only no fees which they do charge £40 on tickets past previews I think and the same seats with no fees are available on the DML website with no fees on all shows. Sure there will be proper offers but I have booked front row seats which are pricey but at least £30 than the row behind. Maybe Today TIX or the like will have a flash sale closer to the 16th Sept.

This is almost certainly going to have guest performers in it for a week/two weeks.
Ball is now free, Mandy Patinkin is in town for a few weeks - there's just no way they'll make any money on what they're offering now (based on ticket sales)

Just some thoughts as a punter about this production. Views are my own, okay?
Say you are watching a one-off celebration, with all of the stars together across one or two nights - you are seeing the definitive (and only) version of this event. It strikes me that this production is relying on FOMO and repeat visits, particularly from those booking to see their favourite star.
This is all well and good, except it’s billed as and priced as a theatrical experience rather than a cabaret style event in SoHo. I suspect some people will be leery about paying to see a bunch of people they aren’t familiar with, and wondering if they’re getting the “best” version of the show. Where this differs with a traditional musical is that people largely pay to see the characters and the story, not the specific performers (with exceptions).
Taking the Les Mis concert version for instance, they’ve got Les Mis as the selling point, then a few names to counteract the fact it’s a concert rather than a full production.
For me, the run of this is too long, the prices are too high and the marketing message is confusing. I wouldn’t pay £95 or £125 (stalls prices for a Friday night) for a Bernadette Peters/Michael Ball/Bradley Jaden etc concert personally. And even if I did, I’d then have to also be a big fan of Sondheim.
I think this is a very niche production despite the love for Sondheim by many, many people (myself included). I am unsurprised this is selling poorly.

Agree its a niche concert and Sondheim isn't well known outside of MT fans. I think us an ambitious run. Also poor old Mr Ball isn't in it. He should have been otherwise occupied but maybe now he is free they could slot him in and put some more bums on seats.

But if he couldn’t keep Aspects open, I don’t see how he’d set the box office alight for this to be honest.
