It crashed whilst trying to pay, now I can’t buy the tickets because it says it’s still processing the crashed payment.

Love me a good ticket buying drama. I managed to get through and bag a ticket for the first preview in Brooklyn. Well, I got a confirmation number but no mail so far.

I had trouble with sale. It seems to go through when I unclicked save card details. No email confirmation. Bit got a screenshot of the order number!

Mine went through eventually, with 40 seconds to spare and after failing three times. If I wasn't so picky about where I sit it might have been easier, to be fair!

Blimey, sorry to hear you guys have had problems. I found the site incredibly slow to load at each stage but did find a decent seat for my preferred preview date thankfully. Row H of Brooklyn so five rows up from the floor and pretty central. Great value at £30 when this block is £82.50 or £90 later on.

Phew, thanks for the tip about unticking 'save card details'. Went through straight away after following that advice. Central aisle in Brooklyn during previews - perfect. Good that the system remembered seat details too after previous failed attempts. Got to love a £30 seat that's £90 after previews. Took out the £2 protection too in the current climate of rail strikes, just in case.

I'm just taking a chance that the stage isn't high (they usually aren't for this kind of thing, with people constantly coming and going, I'm thinking 'In The Heights' etc) but would rather have a high stage than a head blocking my view, so front row it is.

Because my payment crashed rather than just taking ages to process, I had to wait for the basket to expire and unfortunately wasn’t quick enough to grab the seats back, so I’ve had to book 3rd preview rather than 1st and in a less preferred block. Oh well, at least I’ve got tickets.

I've got one in the side blocks for the first Saturday, £30 and will be double that after previews! I'm consoling myself that the front row one I nearly had would have probably been too close anyway!

Tickets went so quickly! Not surprising with the £3O preview pricing. I got on pretty early but then faffed around having a look for a bit not realising how popular this would be so missed out on my preferred date, but I noticed they definitely held back half the seats for the general sale tomorrow. Going to wait until tomorrow now to see if I can get a seat in Brooklyn for the Saturday mat preview.
Edit: Kept refreshing and managed to get a Row K seat in Brooklyn, perfect.

I reserved and then lost half a dozen pairs of tickets for different preview dates so gave up on two and finally got a single one in Bronx for the final preview.
Agree it's the difference in pricing between previews and main run that's caused it to go so crazy. £30 compared to £90 for many seats.

After a frozen screen trying to get to checkout I've managed to get a seat I'm reasonably happy with for second preview. Struggled to know where would be best from the limited choices left. I thought it was a presale though - I hadn't registered?

Sounds like I was lucky. Grabbed two excellent fourth row aisle Brooklyn preview seats and was checked out within 30 seconds, before the snarl-up.

Took the plunge because of the preview prices and managed for find a single seat at the sides for 4th preview. Of course all the best ones gone but I was trying to book on my phone abroad with not brilliant WiFi so pleased it all worked.

So, the waiting til I got home from work didn’t pan out as planned then? I don’t think I want to see it any more than wanting £30 tbh. I’ll wait on casting I think. Still not sure how they are going to make that awful space any thing more creative.

Still not sure how they are going to make that awful space any thing more creative. Wait for general sale as I'm sure they have kept some preview seats back and remember today was the die hard fans booking so shouldn't be such an effort tomorrow.

Also, at £90 this isn't going to be doing Hamilton or Moulin Rouge business anyway, for a number of reasons. If you're happy to wait, it'll be on rush/TKTS within weeks of opening.
The location (many tourists simply won't leave Zone 1), poor performance of theatre box office generally, lack of a huge brand familiarity will all play a factor.
The only thing I can see which might make this hard to get a good, cheap ticket for would be stellar star casting. And let's be honest, this isn't likely or they'd have named him/them prior to box office opening.
- - -
An off-topic aside; another big interest of mine is video games. In that industry, the equivalent is pre-ordering prior to release. The problem? Games, like any other art form including theatre, are sometimes a bit rubbish, and until it is out and reviewed by critics and friends, it's impossible to know if it's any good.
Much like box office advance on theatre, you are paying for the FOMO factor. You get a guaranteed chosen seat on a date of your choosing in exchange for;
A) not knowing anything about the quality of the product (particularly egregious in theatre, because of its reliance on human talent ie. cast)
B) paying the highest possible price
C) potentially watching a show which is still a work in progress, with potentially no guarantee of cast holidays etc
In short, box office advance is a necessity for theatre to operate - YET I've seen everything I've ever wanted to see from excellent seats, without paying full price more than three times in the last 5 years.
Ps. This only applies to the West End. Regionals and Broadway I'm afraid you're pretty much stuck with the book price generally.

The price of the Bronx & Flushing tickets make me think that these are possibly where it’s at. Side views are normally the discounted price bands but not so here. Might have to do it…

So none of the held back seats went on sale then today? Was waiting dead on 10am and no new seats came back for the previews. Gutted - website crashed 3 times on me yesterday when I had a chance during a break from work. So was hoping the seats they held back would be available today but nope - nothing?!
