Well the producers will certainly be looking very closely at the MT graduates, massive pool of young talent there.

I’m surprised that the choreography isn’t ‘untouchable’ for this like it used to be for WSS. It was such a part of the shows’ identity I’d have thought they’d want an identikit production of the original? Does a choreographer get a creative credit if they are just reproducing existing work?

Is it totally true that Disney weren't able to cast this in London because of the dancing skills necessary? If so, is this production settling for simpler choreography or has the standard improved?

Can't imagine many if any modern shows having that sort of stipulation anymore.

Wasn’t this rumoured for a Troubadour theatre? Because planning application has gone in for one in white city according to the new theatre thread in general.

Thanks for the update but what's with the four part questionnaire when you go to sign up for info. They should be glad you are wanting more info not use it as a marketing research program.

Brilliant news. I've immediately signed up for updates and priority booking. Never seen Newsies on stage but I recorded it (with Jeremy Jordan) on BBC2 and regularly re-view.

This is probably the one musical I want to see more than any other. Please though let it be in a west end theatre and not some far flung place like Wembley. 😀

I am so excited by this! Do you reckon it'll go into the Dominion in November after Grease? Nederlander own the Adelphi and Aldwych but can't see Tina announcing closure...not sure how well Back To The Future is selling.

Is it Disney producing though? I don't see any mention. I mean I'm not bothered if it's a brand new production, just curious.

Is this a recreation of the Broadway production or a new one?

Exciting. Anyone got any thoughts on casting this? Would make sense for Jac Yarrow to have another go at Jack having played it at ArtsEd. Grace Mouat would make a great Katherine

Exciting. Anyone got any thoughts on casting this? Jac Yarrow would be perfect and he did it at stage school but, of course, he is doing Joseph this summer.

Grace Mouat would make a great Katherine I have heard that even at Arts Ed Newsies has always been planned for Jac to do it. Could be just a rumour but you never know! Grace would be really good and would get the older Six fans back who I sure are the target audience for this; with Heathers, Six and Newsies the young theatre fans have plenty to fangirl and choose from!

Was told this was heading to a new Troubador theatre, pressing in November. Was told that in December last year so things may have shifted.
