Why not contact the box office, I found them very accommodating recently when I needed to change a booking Thank you, everything I can see online says they're not answering the phone at the moment so I've emailed. I won't hold out much hope! I contacted them by e mail and they responded quite quickly. |

Well they've responded quickly....unfortunately they won't help because it was within 24 hours of the performance. Apparently it's my fault for not paying for insurance when I booked. Great stuff. |

Sorry about that Rob, it sucks when something totally beyond your control makes other stuff happen and when you miss something or it costs you it's even more annoying. Hope you get to see it soon. The rail strikes are also going to have a big effect in theatre etc over the coming weeks.

It really must depend where you sit with regards to the sound as I sat in Richmond, front row and didn't have any issues. We were also in Richmond on Monday evening, second row close to Brooklyn. Thought they were great seats, perfect view. Needless to say we absolutely loved the show. I was surprised to read the complaints about the sound quality as it was clear enough to my admittedly-aged ears. I often struggle to take in every word of lyrics when there are multiple singers but didn't find it any more of an issue than usual. The solo numbers/duet were crystal clear so tend to agree that the acoustics vary in different areas.. I'm there again tomorrow evening in the most extreme front row side seat in Bronx, which was initially all I could get. Then got two really good seats. I had planned to pass tomorrow's on but quickly changed my mind... I'll try to compare the sound there. |

This remains a huge hit with audiences. Multiple mid-show standing ovations. I hope it sells well - even if that means cheap tickets are hard to come by. We've not waited eight years for this show just to let it flop.

This is a perfect example of how irrelevant mainstream critics reviews are these days. 3 stars! Absolute twaddle. The dancing alone deserves 4 stars.
The Guardian gives it 3 and yet gives Hex 4. Really!!!!!
The reviews (apart deom WOS) are completely the opposite of what the audiences are saying on social media and here. I think the target audience will listen to social media more than newspaper reviews and, along with word of mouth, will head to Wembley to see it.
It really deserves to do Well for all the money, effort and skill that's been put into it.
And if their performance on the Royal Variety comes over well then that will help.

Newsies is certainly not a perfect musical (although this production is perhaps a perfect evening out) but my goodness, less stars than Hex? Says it all really. I have to say when I saw there on Twitter were two standing ovations again last night during act 1 I actually had a feeling that reviewers might just decide to dampen things down a bit with more moderate reviews. I've only skimmed the reviews but the 3 star ones seem pretty positive anyway, so, shrug. But the Hex thing... I mean it's all subjective but I will officially throw my hands up anyway. I know how I'd rather spend an evening!
I'd also like to ban reviews complaining about songs not being catchy. This isn't top of the pops (did I just age myself?).

Completely agree on the catchy songs front - I swear I see that complaint raised with every single show regardless of genre, song quality or emotional depth. Idk what people want from musical songs: if they’re not poppy enough then they’re ‘not catchy’, if they’re too poppy it’s ‘forgettable’ and not emotionally deep enough |

Considering that my Mum ends up humming 'Bad Cinderella' for a week every time she hears it once, I don't think songs being 'catchy' are an indication of quality, so I'd second this one! |

I was there last night for press night, sitting in The Bronx in a paid ticket, so far away from the celebrities. Although you could hardly miss Layton Williams in prime position as you enter the building, then in prime position in the stalls. The were other people who I felt I should have recognised, but really I was just keen at the end to get out of the building and make my bus. The foyer area was rammed full of people waiting for an afterparty.
The wanting to get out is no reflection on the quality of the show, which remains excellent. It just started late again and ran long.
Front row of The Bronx is a rather unique position, as you're behind a lot of the dance numbers and you simply can't see some things around the set. What you do get is the closest possible position for Santa Fe and various other activity on that side of the set. You can see some of the ensemble putting on a background act only visible to about 10 seats (including some pickpocketing). And they do have a large enough ensemble to stage to all sides. A fair bit of interaction too.
Sound wise. Pretty much the same as last week. Speech is clear, songs are muffled, especially the ensemble songs. I suspect they've optimised the sound for further back in the building. And maybe some people just don't notice.
I'd happily sit in that area again, especially looking at the post-preview pricing (although I suspect that songs offer will come along).
Two standing ovations during the show, from pretty much the whole audience. Funnily, the swings slipped in at the end to bow, even though they hadn't been on stage earlier. Maybe a press night thing.
I really enjoy this and the music has grown on me, but essentially it's a dance show. I can see why the reviews are as they are too. But I'm sure this will do well, especially over the school holiday period.

TodayTix is set up for £25 rush tickets for this. Doesn't mention where in the theatre - maybe just to get rid of empty seats - but still probably the cheapest option for tickets once they actually start running them.

They're not masterpieces but they're very good especially Seize the Day and Carrying the Banner. I do think British critics are a bit snobby towards American musicals. |
