Has anyone seen Timika in the role? How does she compare to Marisha?

I saw her in her first weekend. She was wonderful. To be fair, I didn´t see Marisha. But I loved her charisma, her presence and her vocals; and her numbers were definitely standouts.

FYI the Bridge has performances listed until 29th Nov on their website but not yet on sale. Presumably the idea is they announce the next three-month extension after some Olivier success… 31st Aug could well be Celinde’s final show though, unless she extends her contract again. |

Ending in January 2025 would make sense as the Bridge would want to have a season or two in place before closing Guys and Dolls.

I can't remember if it's worth it to be seated early for the start of the show. I recall the performances at intermission and the party at the end, but how early should I get in my seat before the show starts? Thanks!

There is street ambience before - pretzels being sold to the immersive crowd etc, but nothing to worry about missing from memory. |

Winning Olivier awards doesn’t affect a shows box office at all. This show won’t be on much longer I suspect as sales have really slowed down in recent months |

Would have loved to have seen this win more Oliviers yesterday, but glad it is getting a final extension. I can see them bringing it back later down the line also, but will be interesting to see what else they do with the Bridge in its programming - hopefully more musicals like this!

It is a pity that a producing theatre like The Bridge has run a single show for 22 months even though it obviously makes commercial sense. When Hytner/Starr launched The Bridge they said there would be 4 or 5 new productions each year. Their new Kings Cross theatre will also now not open till late 2026 at the earliest (converting from the Lightroom). Giant with John Lithgow which Hytner is directing at the Royal Court was actually a Bridge commission which has now had to go elsewhere. |

The email I've received from the Bridge confirms the new extension is final and that the theatre will revert to its previous style next year.

It probably makes very good sense and means that they will be able to do more of other things they want to do in coming years whilst other theatres struggle. The brutal truth is that there aren't enough great new plays out there for them to put on four a year in an auditorium that size. Indeed, have they put on any great new plays? I've enjoyed two or three of them but the great productions they've put on have been the Shakespeares: the Midsummer Night's Dream and Julius Caesar. |

Yeah, in a perfect world, they would have stuck to 4/5 new shows a year, but Guys and Dolls has been such a hit for them, i can see why they would stick to it for a while to get the coffers filled.

I agree that it’s a shame for writers and audience looking for new writing that there hasn’t been this whilst Guys and Dolls has occupied this space.
But as per above posters, needs must due to finances.
Having looked at the publicly available Companies House accounts of London Theatre Company Productions Limited (the company which runs the Bridge), it reports to 30 Sept 2022:
“The loss for the year, after taxation, amounted to £1,665,114 (2021 - loss £2,621,495).The directors recommend that no dividend is paid.”
Obviously we don’t know how much G&D has made, but for the Bridge to continue they needed to bring in a profits, and hopefully they can fulfil their remit (noted in the Accounts):
“The principal activity of the Company is to develop and run independent theatres in London and produce new and distinctive theatrical productions”.
