It's not selling all that well so...I don't think I'd be surprised to see it go after 18 months.
There's no stars in this second cast like there was with Danny Mays so like, there's no one to shove on telly for promo...

I hope the Bridge returns to its regular seasonal output. However, I’d have thought Giant, directed by Nicholas Hytner and developed by his company, wouldn’t need to be at the Royal Court (Sept to Nov) if Guys and Dolls ended in August?
Unless the James Corden/Hytner project comes to the Bridge straight after? Hytner also about to start filming Alan Bennett’s new film in May.

According to the Bridge Theatre website...Guys & Dolls will be closing on August 31, 2024. I am coming to London in mid September 2024. Is there any chance that they will extend the show? Thanks for any help. I would be very surprised to see it close. New cast just on, one year anniversary and a gala press night for this coming Monday. In fact I would not be one bit surprised to see an extension announced imminently.... Especially if they get an Olivier nom.

Especially if they get an Olivier nom. Currently unclear if it's even eligible. Definitely eligible. Now an Affiliate Member of SOLT and paid its levy in order for shows to be nominated. solt.co.uk/solt-venues/

If these nominations came out just after it opened and the buzz was still fresh, it would be sweeping. I think Sunset will beat it for best revival and best actress now. It would've had a shot at those last year. Don't know what Daniel Mays is doing in there to be honest. Best Actor in a Musical? Christ.

Oh I thought Daniel Mays was the standout. Followed closely by Andrew Richardson, Celinde Schoenmaker and Marisha Wallace. He threw himself into the role of Nathan Detroit and was like a born again New York gambler. I'm sure people can point out his singing limits but whilst Marisha could stand and belt he brought the acting, comedy and to some extent singing in 'Sue Me'

Funny, i figured if ANY of the cast were locks at nominations it would be Mays and Wallace.

Shocked Celinde Schoenmaker wasn't nominated. She was the best of the bunch for me.

Marisha won't find out until she leaves the house...there is an article about it on Broadwayworld

So I'll admit, I am surprised that today's Bridge email didn't have an extension in it. 9 noms and a whole host of glowing reviews for the new cast from Monday night's gala. Maybe a case of seeing if sales get any sort of immediate bump before any possible announcement?
If anyone in the know has any hints.. I'd love to know if I should book another visit for what is the currently scheduled last day in August. Ta!

I saw the show from Stalls B 14 (Door E side)and felt like I was on the wrong side of the theater because o lot of it was staged with the actors back to us.
For those of you who have seen the show, is B 61 side (between doors B and C) better to see faces or is between Doors A and D better?
I'd like to see it again and feel as if I missed half the show the first time.
thanks

Another good place is Row A Gallery 2 directly above the band. Stalls I'd avoid tbh but if I had to I'd take the seats directly behind the three accessible seats if on a budget or take the long side row A with band to the right of you. If fit and able to stand, this show is best enjoyed from the immersive section, but I appreciate that isn't everybody's top choice. Hope this helps.

Is there any chance (with winning any Olivier awards) that Guys & Dolls will extend past August 31st...or is the closing already set in stone?

Is there any chance (with winning any Olivier awards) that Guys & Dolls will extend past August 31st...or is the closing already set in stone? I would think that if Guys And Dolls wins the Olivier it will extend until December and beyond. The Bridge could present new work at another venue until demand subsides.

Demand is...not great for this currently - it's very easy to get heavily discounted tickets and it's certainly not full by any stretch, so I would imagine that it will close up in August as currently advertised.
I would be shocked if it did win the Olivier but weirder things have happened.

Such a shame, if so. It´s the best show in town by far.

I think the replacement cast not being particularly exciting hasn’t helped shift tickets or continue interest.
I also doubt it’ll win Oliviers, although it’s my pick for revival, as Sunset seems to be in lock for those major categories.
There’s been rumours that it’ll transfer in a site specific venue in NY or somewhere in America so maybe it’ll have a continued life elsewhere.
