Well that's that then.
Reunion was quite sweet.
Finale was ok but you do feel sorry for them not being able to do a full theatre job of it.
Not sure how I feel about the result...

Jaida 100% deserved it imo. Her final lip sync performance was undoubtedly the best of the three, and the crown Cape reveal was a brilliant and memorable ending. I'm willing to forgive the low production values of her individual lip sync because if you don't have the resources to pull off what the other 2 did then what can you do (and her dancing was great anyway and she totally embodied the song)? I also though her up close lip sync was the best. I don't mind Gigi and I enjoyed her early in the show but her looks and attitude got repetitive and she had some questionable wins and safes tbh. Crystal was hilarious in the finale but she wasn't doing all that much in the final lip sync. And when was the last time we had a proper pageant queen win a regular season of drag race? Season 2 (was Tyra even a pageant queen)?

I'm a little disappointed tbh. Gigi was the winner for me! Crystal was probably the worst in both 3-way lip syncs but I LOVED her solo lip sync, that was just Crystal all over. I just found Jaida a little basic and......boring? Ah well - thought they did a great job of putting the finale together though I agree that it's SUCH a shame these queens won't get the theatre finale they deserve after such an overall enjoyable season. And it makes me scream how incapable Ru obviously is at getting herself ready!!

Apparently Gigi did some dodgy stuff going into the finale which probably lost it for her...
Gigi already lost before she even filmed THIS version of her final lip sync because she cannot follow simple direction and broke the stay at home order and filmed her final lip sync in a studio somewhere. To the point of Production threatening to disqualify her. Between her constantly breaking the stay at home orders (filmed two Digital Drag performances with entire crews of people, broke the stay at home order & filmed a video with Jeffree Star) & making tone deaf comments after George Floyd was murdered and made her response to the backlash all about herself.
I liked all 3 equally so didn't really mind who won.
Big congrats to the real star of the season Heidi!!!

WHY would you jeopardise your health, someone else's health and the competition?!

I knew that rumour and that probably killed her chances but honestly I don't think that's the sole reason why she lost (and I think it'd be pretty disrespectful to suggest Jaida only won because Gigi tried to cheat when she did so well on the show - I don't mean to insinuate anyone here's done this I just see a lot of people trying to invalidate Jaida's win and it's a bit disheartening). The Twitter polls generally had Jaida winning whereas Gigi was winning on Instagram and Gigi had a better track record sure but that's not mattered for the last 3 seasons with the new format so I think when it came down to it Jaida simply won the final lip sync (and personally she won it no question - she embodied Beyoncé completely, had a creative reveal at the end and my attention was always drawn back to her - I had to actively try to watch what the other 2 were doing).

. And it makes me scream how incapable Ru obviously is at getting herself ready!! 😀😀I kept wondering why Ru was channelling a kind of Hannibal Lecter S&M look. Fine with the winner even though I didn’t really warm to Jaida as a person all season: my personal fave in the final was Crystal. Was so pleased Heidi got the Miss Congealed crown: the star of the season.

It was Jaida's to lose for weeks, she was always going to win IMHO despite Gigi making a slight return to form at the end. I'm glad she won but it was a tough year as all 3 of them were very good for a change.

Season 13 starts New Years Day so presumably available on netflix from the next day, and UK Season 2 from the 14th of January on iPlayer again. Interesting to have both at once but I think we’re gonna need plenty of good tv like drag race to get us through these next few months.

I'm excited for both but it seems a bit mad to be doing 2 at the same time, especially since we basically had 4 consecutive seasons of drag race this year.

Man the season 13 premiere was kind of not very fun and pretty exhausting. Half the cast were just depressed the whole time and we barely got to see the winners in the main episode (though they featured a bit more in untucked). It was very repetitive, basically each group of queens reacted the same way to the twist and none of the lip syncs were all that spectacular so the format really did very little to keep my attention and was ultimately just draining to be honest.
Hopefully the threat of elimination is false because it really would be a shame to see a queen go home so soon after such a short and messy time where we barely got to see anyone's personalities but the fact that they weren't eliminated by the end of the episode leads me to believe we'll have at least one more full episode with the entire cast.

Loved the concept, hated the execution.
I have always had a problem with the fact we never see anyone actually perform before we see them thrown into ridiculous tasks that have very little to do with drag, so for me I liked seeing them all perform first.
It was however a cruel and uncomfortable watch because of how they chose to do it, which as usual isn't at all surprising considering the people who make it.
The only moments of joy for me were the little pig squeals every time they said Porkchop...
There were also some VERY questionable lip-synch music choices...Lindsay Lohan? Really?
Lots of great queens and it's obvious only one of them is going home.
It does however feel like another season of great black queens who will provide entertainment for many weeks before being unceremoniously kicked off towards the end because there's a pretty blonde with better makeup and a nicer outfit.
Who should go is subjective at this point, but there were quite a few weak ones I wouldn't care if I never saw again.

Presumably much of this splitting the group into two is driven by the need to ensure a degree of distancing for cast members and crew - or at least to keep the close contact cohorts small. They clearly haven't adopted the 'Bake Off' entire production isolation approach. I'd expect that there will be two separate workrooms for at least half of the season and very little interaction between the cast and the judges/visitors to those workrooms.

I am not sure the effort of this 3 part start to the season is worth it.
All feels over-engineered and isn't delivering anything special

What a difference between this group and last week. I much prefer this 'losing' group of queens and the episode in general. This season has finally started for me, though i'm nervous about them mixing next week.

For me the season pretty much arrived with this episode. Much that popped on the screen visually and personality-wise in this episode - and some STUNNING creations. Loved that lip-sync, too. Tamisha - who I like a lot - to really step it up, though, performance-wise: please bring it, girl!
I felt this group is a more talented - and likeable - bunch than the non-Pork Chops! Well, except Kahmora who I almost lost interest in with her self-described “look queen” thing (I want more than one layer in my queens!), the self-indulgent lateness affliction and the dead-behind-the-eyes trick going on!

I agree this week's episode was much more engaging! Nicole Byer should be a rotating judge she was fantastic.
I am excited to start the competition though, two episodes of the same mini challenge and song writing, while i like them, is just repetitive so lets gets this show going!
From next weeks preview i think a RuPaullmark movie is a great idea, especially as theyve been gaining popularity recently.

I hadn't idea until this evening that Graham Norton was once in a relationship with Tina Burner!

Not the most entertaining of episodes. Everyone playing a role made it hard to track who was doing what.
There are so many middling queens that it feels you can predict the top 5/6 already
I don't get the love for Symone. She looks old for her age and falls back on male clothing... but Ru is in love.
Tina needs to shine more.

I can’t decide if Utica is totally hopeless or potentially genius. Suspect it’s the former. I like Symone!

Utica is a baby Thorgy.
Symone just reminds me of Elektra from Pose. I don't think she is a great queen. She may well win but I am not into that style of drag. Dressing in sportswear does not a drag queen make.

She sold the look though, a lot of it is confidence and attitude I think.
Kandy Muse started with a real bitch edit but after this week I wonder if we’re going to see her become a comedy queen?

Utica and Elliottttttt are 2 of the more interesting looking people they've ever had on the show...
Elliotttttt looks like the bastard love child of Freddie Krueger and Chucky!
Symone is fantastic, they may as well just give her the crown now. She is this seasons Bob/Bianca, you know she has it in the bag.
I am not getting anything from Tina at all, she is all talk and no action...bland.
Kandy is cute and funny, but my God that hair and make-up is atrocious and I can't believe they never mention it.
Rose is Jan with self awareness and needs to do a bit more than smirk her way through.
LaLa is fab on the runway, but needs to lift her challenge game.
Joey is a loveable geek, but a little unpolished. He'd be better suited to the UK series...
The rest can go, they're of little interest.
The lip-synch this week was phenominal!
