Difficult situ with Sherrie though. Having the judges lavishing praise on her every week would have had the virtue signalling contingent going on and on about it and diverting attention from the rest of the contestants. Some of the faux outrage on social media around that whole situation is almost as bad as what a Sherrie did in the first place.
It’s not a great solution but the edit was probably the best of the options I think.

I wonder how much editing is going on now that they are trying to create a different finale.

I wonder how much editing is going on now that they are trying to create a different finale. The finale and reunion are going to have to be put on hold as they can't film anything. They only film that like 2-3 weeks before it ends. It's gonna be weird, it'll just finish after the Top3/4 Ep lol

Most people who commit a crime are convicted of it or found not guilty and then allowed to carry on with their lives and people choose to forgive or forget them. But in this case it seems if no charges are filed this person's career/life is just over because what...someone says so? Is death by arseholes on the internet a thing now? I don't see how something she did before being on the show plays into her performance on the show. Fair enough disqualify her and clearly she ain't going to benefit from being on the show by goes on tours etc It's all very odd x

Maybe they'll do it all via zoom instead of waiting around.

Maybe they'll film something with whoever is replacing her in the final 3/4 by Zoom and edit that on the end. We don't even know for sure she was in the final 3/4 or not do we? Or is there one of those 'lists' floating about re results.

I think this week's result was right. It was a classic case of the edit showing someone getting inside their own head and screwing up as a result.
Runway was weak this week as it was essentially asking them to do the same thing for the promo shoot and then again for a runway. Bad planning by the producers.

I thought Gigi and Sherry should've been the bottom 2 this week. They were clearly only saved by their runways as their performances were every bit as terrible as the other 2.
That being said it was Widows time to go. Jackie next...

I would love the unedited version of this sort of challenge to be made available. We only ever see snippets of things like this and Snatch Game. It is impossible to say for certain but I imagine that seeing the full thing might reveal rather different things about the comparative performance levels.

Jeff Goldblum was just adorable in this - from his wide-eyed curiosity about it all to getting all emotional during the lip-synch.

I’m i the only one that feels very naughty and excited whenever Sherry Pie is on screen???
It’s like a naughty secret that we are not adult enough to know, like when your parents would have a party and u would sneak down and there would be that naked man in the middle of everyone and they’d all scream DONT LOOK DONT LOOK!! I know what she did was pretty god damn disgusting (I’ve seen an invterview with the main victim) but I don’t understand, as an adult, I have to be shielded from her?? Hiding her away as much as possible just makes her all the more forbidden and irresistible

It is a difficult balance for the producers to strike - they cannot be seen to be promoting her (having already disqualified her from the competition) - but they cannot fully edit her out. It should hopefully be addressed properly in the reunion show - it surely cannot pass off without comment. Sherry is very much the style of drag that I enjoy - campy, theatrical and polished. I had her as my favourite from the outset. Ah well. And betty.... what sort of parties did your parents throw? ?

Maybe due to there being less Queens now left, but they've definitely been harsher in removing her previously and it feels very inconsistent across the season. I mean, in one week we didn't even get to see her runway! I'm sure they'll address it in the reunion show, but I imagine it will be very briefly in a statement to camera from Ru. There's no way they'll open it up for comments from the Queens on the situation.

I agree that it felt like she was in more of this episode than usual but maybe because this episode didn't exactly paint her in a positive light (I mean she was almost up there for twenty minutes)? I think the lack of Queens to cover her up with is also a factor like you said. Also pretty sure we didn't see her runway that week because of the Disney sponsorship - they didn't want to be associated with her.

She only got air time because she threw Jaida under the bus.

Terrible episode. The puppet challenge wasn’t funny and the one women shows were so cringe making I had to fast forward through most of it. Kudos for getting Whoopi on as judge/mentor but I can’t take Rupaul giving advice on anything very seriously. Her comedy is basic, she can’t act (as we now know from AJ), she can’t sing without autotune and she won’t perform live, yet she’s sat up there giving notes to these queens? It’s preposterous.

They are as much to blame as anyone in this. It is very easy to get caught up in the moment (which is how I read it) - it was excessive but I doubt it was done so as to disadvantage Jaida in any particular way. Jaida would have been bad whatever had gone before. She had a weak story and told it very badly. No matter where she had been in the running order, that act would have sunk without trace.

Has anyone been watching the celebrity version? I say celebrity loosely because i've only known about two people so far but it's kinda been fun. I quite enjoy seeing the straight boys be so open minded and enjoying the experience.

The celeb version has been sweet.
Not sure why they are overlapping the series though. They should spread it out

I've enjoyed the celeb one more and more with each ep. 1 was cute, 2 was great fun and 3 was just brilliant, one of the funniest eps of any Drag Race and the guys were just fantastic!

Why episode 3 wasn't the season opener, I don't know. It finally proved the format works, and that there's something to be gained from people who don't usually do it doing drag. Episodes 1 and 2 were just... meh.

Really didn't warm to Ms Beer.
