‘Legally Blonde’ with scale and that feeling of a leafy Boston university campus could be amazing and dare I say slightly epic. The juxtaposition of the two coasts could be what makes this work…if it is actually a thing at all.

To be honest Regents Park have been moving away from the traditionally staged classic revivals in recent years anyway (sadly) and putting different spins on then, so if it is this it fits with their seeming approach to draw a younger crowd.
The Legally blonde movie is now 20 years old so it will appeal to people in 30s 40s and 50s easily. Plus the sequel might be out next year for added publicity.

I’d love to see them do Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but would imagine they’d go for something less family friendly especially if they go ahead with 101 Dalmatians also.

I was thinking of Brigadoon too. With Camelot opening in Feb and My Fair Lady rumoured to play Coliseum, it would be great to have another Lerner & Leowe production to get tickets for. My alternatives would be ‘Nine’ or Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum

Guess the cat (or rather the dog) is now firmly out of the bag!

Guess the cat (or rather the dog) is now firmly out of the bag! Is this not piggybacking after the clue was dropped on here first? Theatre fan is a forum user after all. It’s not exactly confirmation of anything.

It’s not exactly confirmation of anything. True, but it’s also what multiple forum users have heard from seemingly varying sources before said blog post.

What an absolutely bizarre and uninspired choice. Weird.

Agreed. Legally Blonde is very "hen party"

As long as they don’t set it in an English fishing village, I’m sure to enjoy this one!

TBH if Little Shop of Horrors and Ragtime can work at the Open Air, I think Legally Blonde can as well.

Jamie Lloyd's Legally Blonde - I knew it The only person I cannot handle directing it - ANYONE ELSE PLEASE. I don't need Elle Woods to deliver So Much Better dressed all in grey and a handheld wired microphone.

It's the only Musical I know that has a comic song referencing Irish Paramilitary knee-capping punishments. Perhaps it could be reimagined as the fever dream of an inmate of the Maze prison.

Does she feel so much better? Are her fillers and silicon boobies leaking into her bloodstream causing her not to know how she’s feeling? Is her privileged and charmed life just a prison? Will she die at the end seconds after her triumph in court?
