What should I see in London Sept 6 and 7?

Not comedy, but I'd suggest Rockets and Blue Lights at the National Theatre, and combine it with a visit to Turner's Modern World exhibition at Tate Britain, because the exhibition includes the painting of the same name, and also the slave ship painting which inspired the play.

Yes. If you like British, and you like comedy, and you are up for extremely mindless silliness, then I also think "The Play that Goes Wrong" for Tuesday night.

If you go for "Camp Siegfried" instead, it is an American Playwright, but it is also the first preview of a World Premiere featuring an actress that I think is a national treasure, Patsy Ferran.

And as for Monday, "Operation Mincemeat" is terrific if your stomach for British silliness is super super strong, but by extreme contrast, Leopoldstadt is a stately late relatively straightforward masterpiece of a drama, from Tom Stoppard, and is really very moving.

Beginning will just be beginning out east at the Queen's Theatre. Have you ever been to Hornchurch? I'm told it's very nice at this time of year. No swanky restaurants though! 😉
